Yeah, the Trueno is perfectly balanced and is very light, thats why it handles so great on such tight tracks, though it is a relatively old car... Also a big aspect of what makes a car fun to drive is how much trust you have in it / how controllable it is. The Trueno is very trustworthy, gives lots of feedback and will do exactly what you want, though it might even have slower cornering speed than other cars.
Werner Wernersen Great car and everything but I beg your pardon. The Cars balance is far fron perfect, it has a 58/42 Weight Ratio so its prone to understeer, which weirdly enough seems really stable when you get into oversteer making it seem balanced.
@@wernerderwerners perfectly balanced lmao actually its not it have a bad weight distribution 53/47 If I remember Its just Keiichi Tsuchiya driving skill and the tune that makes it better

Initial D was actually based on his life story. He oversaw production of the entire series. And Ryosuke Takahashi is an actual real life person, who mentored Tsuchiya.
Isn't it Kunimitsu Takahashi who was Tsuchiya's mentor? BMI had a JGTC documentary of Tsuchiya about his career when he was driving the bright orange ARTA NSX.
Sorta like Bunta. He 'overseered' the entire series, did a cameo, actually took Itsuki on shotgun, and an 86' too; and if you don't know, he was basically the 'spark' to drifting scene on international attention. Back in 80's or 90's, everybody knew he was gonna win anyways so why the fuck not drift all the corners of an entire race? Little bonus; Tokyo Drift? Basically did everything. Plus cameos of him AND his 86'. Didn't know that when I was a kid and I had this weird ability to remember faces too well, and like, "Where the hell was this guy from?" I remembered Tokyo Drift instantly.
I could hear the crying of 2nd and 3rd gear every time he shift Lol High rev engine + close gear ratio + frequent shifting every corner. That’s such a good old thing on 80 and 90’s
Not a single gutter run at all in this video he is just gripping but front tire off the track just a little bit (how is that comment got like 6 likes? a lot of kids here huh)
Serious question, I know he is a very skilled driver, but why is he shifting into 4th so much? There were a few parts, where he was constantly shifting between 3rd and 4th, why not leave it in 3rd and let it hit the limiter?
Nero I recon he was just messing around on this run. Its not his usual way of driving. It seems like he was just test driving because he was praising the set up at the end.
He does have a 5th gear but he doesnt use it cus perhaps the fifth gear doesnt have enough torque to propel the car thus could make the drift king and cameraman die in a horrible ae86 fireball of duum.
Driving a slow car fast is far more fun than driving a fast car slow.
While Truneo is indeed slow it's very handy in such tight and curvy sections like that togue track. Very fun car to drive I'm sure.

3rd gear not long enough, 4th gear not enough torque lol. awesome driving.
Isn't that why Keiichi Tsuchiya's AE86 has a custom 1-2-3-4-3.5 semi-close ratio MT set-up?
Yea lol
@@DJLJAYPn0yDriftR Nah he ditched that setup he didn't like it.
That's normal
That car. That road. Those noises. Such pure driving pleasure! A super-hyper-whatever car could not possibly be more fun.
Wears a full fire suit but not even a helmet lol
dcdude345 without a rollbar aswell.
He needs a stick of a cigarette to match those glasses.
The glasses 😎
Keiichi and AE86 = the best combination

This has me going between "wow that's badass" and feelings of immense anxiety. Sometimes at the same time.
Some serious driving right there.
This is real motorsport.
Hail to the king..
Honestly his shifting into 1st is superb.
Whenever im down and sad, I'll always watch this video to get me hyped up. What a beautiful aggressive attack!

watch this with "running in the 90s" playing in the next tab, best decision ever.

he heel and toes everytime he downshifts. You can hear the revs bounce up and then he downshifts.

because the 3 gear is too short and the 4th low torque
