    Awesome Demo!! Exactly what I was looking for. Concise yet enough detail to make it easy to follow.

    Thanks for doing this tutorial. I've been tasked with implementing SOBR's on Veeam to use Azure Blob storage and I have 100's of TB's regular repo's to phase out. :(

    How long until the jobs start "dripping" or moving into the Azure storage blob? I created a SOBR to move items older than 30 days and also set an override to 90% but, nothing is being moved. I am inside the uploading window and my performance tier is at 95%.

    Hi Michael. Is it possible to integrate Oracle plugin with Veeam for Azure (for some vm client is running Oracle and sync with RMAN)?

    Can I ask, would we want to choose Cool instead of Hot since we want to reduce costs as its just a storage of the backups? (rarely accessed) Thanks

      So we cannot send directly to cold storage. But with more recent versions we have the ability to bring cold tiers into your scale out backup repository

      @@90DaysOfDevOps The question was regarding "cool" not "cold", cool should be used for capacity tier as its significantly cheaper so long as you don't plan to access the data inside 30 days as there is an access penalty. "Cold" storage is in preview and will have 90 days access penalty but will be cheaper still. You can directly access both via capacity tier in a SOBR. Hot should be used if you're directly backing up to Azure without first backing up to a local performance tier. Cool and Cold can also be used by backup copy jobs from Veeam v12. Finally, Archive Tier can utilise the Azure Blob Archive access tier which is significantly cheaper for long term archive storage of data but the penalties for access are just as significant, but ideally you'd never need to access them.

    Hi Michael ! I am looking for a cheap tier to offload our on prem backups to extend our backup history. Looking at your demo on approx 3:25 it shows you use a hot access tier. Can you also use cold or blob ?

      Hey Robert, thanks for the comment and question. Veeam Backup & Replication supports both hot and cold for the capacity tier. Coming in v11 is the ability to add another tier called the Archive Tier this will enable the offload to Archive covering all Azure Blob Storage options. Hope that helps?

      @@90DaysOfDevOps Hi Michael, yes it sounds like v11 will offer all possibilities I need. Thank you for the information, appreciate that !

      @@90DaysOfDevOps One more question, do you know when v11 will be released ?

    • @90DaysOfDevOps
      @90DaysOfDevOps  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rfrugte the second beta is out now and available via your SE. We then get RC > RTM > GA. Personally I am hoping Q1 2020 so between Jan and March.

    Hi Michael. How can we resolve scale-out repository Azure blob offload failure?

    How do I offload my backups which are backed up to Dd to Azure object storage

    • @90DaysOfDevOps
      @90DaysOfDevOps  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your data domain needs to be added into a scale out backup repository as a performance tier and then you can add Azure blob storage as the capacity tier. With v11 and it’s release yesterday you can add another tier if you wish and use the Azure Archive blob storage

    Hi, how can we download archive backup from Azure Blob Repo and import it in Veeam? In a storage container i have folder and files with names but I don't know how to proceed to find the file name and from which virtual machine is? Just a random of numbers and letters that don't say anything to me.

    • @90DaysOfDevOps
      @90DaysOfDevOps  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Nikolay, this video walks through some restore scenarios including direct restore to Azure from the Capacity Tier. th-cam.com/video/Qlkiaci7h64/w-d-xo.html The way in which you will be able to understand what that data is, is through installing Veeam Backup & Replication this can be a fully licensed version or even community edition. Add the capacity tier azure blob storage and then import those backups and then from there you can recover that data.

      @@90DaysOfDevOps We use cloud because we don't have enough storage room to keep long retention backups on site, and also because of 3-2-1 rule: at least one backup off site for example in cloud. But when we upload backup archive on Azure Blob Repo how we can download and restore on-premise machine?

    • @90DaysOfDevOps
      @90DaysOfDevOps  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nikolaynikolov1620 Within your backup and replication and home window of the console you will see where your backup jobs are configured you will also see Disk and Object Storage and in here you can see what restore points you have available in your Microsoft Azure Blob Storage. Hopefully that helps.
