    He is a bad reviewer. A lot of crew members get accused of being bad mannered, half the time they are just concentrating and being aware of all the other passenger movements and noises around them, give cc a break.

      That package you got with your meal at 9:10 of the your video is a condiment called "Zha cai" (榨菜) . It's a mustard tuber and comes in regular & spicy flavours (probably given the regular). You can add it into your chicken dish to give it some crunchiness & it is salty.

      I flew this airline from UK to Australia. It sucks. I never flew my return sector with them. I bought a whole new ticket. Mind you, I have travelled to 126 countries in my life and have taken hundreds of flights with many different airlines. China Southern sucks. Their £600 compensation did not pay for my ex 7 days I spent in London due to their delay. The in-flight service sucked, the food sucked, the 3 hours to get out of Guangzhou airport sucked, the aircraft sucked and the mainland Chinese passengers also sucked. Never listened to the crew, leaving over head bins open during turbulence, making horrible clearing throat sounds, noisy NEVER EVER AGAIN.

    Dude, at least you get a MEAL in economy for a domestic flight. In Canada, we only get a soft drink for a 5 hours domestic flight. Anything else you will have to pay, even a blanket or earphone. And the ticket is super expensive too, its about 400$ USD. Airlines are not charity. What you are getting, I think its pretty fair in my opinion.

      I remember sitting for three hours on United and the crew didn't come through the cabin with so much as a cup of water. I think it was nice of the CS crew to do beverage and meal service in the ground. Aside from the dripping water, this flight wasn't that bad.

      William Lau alright I learned this a little while ago but China’s military controls 80% of their airspace forcing airliners to literally fly single file to their destination. This freaking causes delays I’ve had a flight get delayed ~9 hrs because their was a storm and it blocked the civilian airspace and all flights were delayed. We were lucky their was a flight that got delayed 12 hours. So when their is too much demand for a route u simply just queue up. They let international flights first so yeah. In China delays happen all the time

    China Southern is actually pretty good in international flights. China's airspace is very conjested, especially in Beijing. Delay will be norm until they open the new international airport in 2019.

      The delays are probably due to the military having priority over civilian aircraft. I read something that said 2/3 of all flights in China are delayed because of that. I've found it enough of a problem to go out of my way to avoid using Chinese airports.

      Yes,even the new PEK open in nearly future,it won't help.The reason behind this delay because in china airspace ,the designed airway number is minimum comparing to the overgrow traffic of airplane.Especially, in the rainy season,the delayed time may be escalated up to 4-5 hours.(you have to wait on ground inside your plane).Be patient.

    Jeez man, my first flight got delayed for 10 hours, making my second flight depart off without me. I didn't whine or complain, and China Southern actually booked a hotel (5 star) for me and my family for a while until the next flight was available. China Southern isn't that bad, its just you complaining about small things.

    All the cabin crew that I saw on this video were smiling and seemed really nice.
    I’ve flown China southern and I must admit I didn’t have nice cabin crew . They didn’t smile had very strict faces but you just have to learn to not take it personal .

    Everybody has bad days and he just happened to get on a flight that he thought to be really bad. Thats totally fine. My main concern is that he filmed other passenagers and the flight attendants but did not include any information about whether they are agreed to be be filmed or not. Their consents matter. The worst part is when he was trying the food. You can see very clearly the face of the gentleman sitting behind him. I think this is very insensitive and disrepectful.

    Some whine with your cheese, sir? Watch these vloggers: Dennis Bunnik, Josh Cahill or Sam Chui. They review airlines (mostly biz class but also economy) pointing out good and bad aspects without coming across as whiny. Aim for that standard, instead of your current moan-fest.

    Chinese cabin crew procedures are more strict than other parts of the world. that might explain them not talking to you. It’s not because they were rude, it’s because they would get in trouble if they did

    The only thing I agree with you is the leaking water and maybe the delay, that shouldn’t happen (but delays are sometimes out of the control of the airline). It seems like the rest of the issues have been exaggerated. You can’t expect cabin crew to be friendly at all times they are humans and can also get stressed and tired, they may also have been annoyed about the delay and other passengers yelling at them etc (something take into consideration).

    At about 4:50 in the video you said there was nowhere to charge but there is a usb sign below the screen pointing at the bottom of the screen so I think its located under the screen

      That's a Credit Card slot to purchase entertainment. It's clearly a Credit Card symbol. There is no USB symbol anywhere.

Every airline is different and have their own ways of providing services and conveniences. But as for this video at your reference time of 4:50, his seat provided a monitor with a credit card slot to purchase entertainment, and I didn't see any USB charge ports near it. I can't speak for other seats and classes on this particular flight, only his seat at 4:50.

    Your experience of CZ A380 does not match mine. Delays are unfortunate, but inevitable given military priority in Chinese air space. Your inability to get the most basic things about air travel right (having restricted items in your carry on and going to the wrong seat) means that it’s hard to accept your overall criticisms. Failure to notify about the leak/ice is a rooky mistake: the crew would have reseated you (from the recording, there seemed to be plenty of available seats). I’m not surprised the crew weren’t interested in engaging with you as you meandered around the aircraft-they have a job to do. Might be worth getting a bit more experience before sharing again.

    I did this journey , in reverse, in 1987..on a train..a steam train (only way then) it took 24 hours, but I do wish I had filmed it!

    You know they are doing a lot better than most places. It is true that according to your logic they are not satisfied, but to their world, that is considered premium service. A fun fact in China is almost all flight has someone trying to travel by plane for the first time, either by themselves or with someone.

    An A380 plane on a domestic flight with FREE full meals? Wow! We will take that anytime here in the US. Everytime I fly domestic in the US and even their longer flights (JFK-HNL) +10 hours, I've had to pay approx $30-40 for Wi-Fi and snack bites/food (ex. pretzel, biscuit, mixed nuts, lunchables...). We are actually looking to book China Southern from JFK to Cebu noting and preparing that this airline is known for delays and rudeness but saving $200 per person or $1000 for a family of 5 is not a bad deal. Although, I don't agree on some of your perspective on this, great video on letting us see China Southern. Btw, I've experienced that ice drip or water dripping on a Cathay flight. I just immediately told the attendant and they actually offered to move me to business class but chose to stay since I was traveling with a party.

    In August 2018 I flew from Chicago to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific airlines and it was amazing! The plane was not that full so I asked if I could move so that I could stretch out and have 3 seats to myself
    My request was accommodated and the crew was very nice...Why didn't u ask to move if condensation was dripping on u? Personally, as long as I got my food and drinks I could care less about engaging with the crew. The condensation and the 2 hour delay were really the only things I would complain about. Just don't eat the damn celery!

    Acting like you-know-it-all. About the leaking air vent, why don't you voice it out to the cabin crew. Also, about the pax in front you reclining his/her sit, that's normal dude. If you not tolerant with it, why don't you booked the entire sits in that aircraft for you alone?. I know you paid your for own ticket and you have a right to voice out any opinion but please be considerate. About the two hours delay, if you really aviation enthusiast, you supposed to know the reason why ATC put or ceased all aircraft operation for that short time being. Its all about the safety of the entire airport. Pack of complaints but lack in aviation knowledge. Yet you called yourself a aviation geek. Sorry if I sounded rude but you really to much. Only think about your own pleasure without being considerate.
    P/s: the crew still smiling while handling you the coffee and OJ tho. You are the one who loudly voice out your drink request and smirking towards the crew instead.

      voicing anything to cabin crew does promise you are taken care of...once I told that ife not working on malaysian airlines.the cabin crew did not respond anything or say even sorry..he turned away and went off without a word.but if you are caucasian you would be entertained..but not if you are asians.So long i have never flown with malaysia airlines after the incident ...and now I come to know they are getting bankrupt and going through difficult time...and I am happpy with it..serve them right.

      @@mohdyusuffsharif944 as a pax, we cant guarantee that the cabin crew be able to fix up the unresponsive ife. Because the one who fixed the ife is the electrical technician. Cabin crew only able to restart or reboot the Ife. If the ife can be fixed that way, we as a pax, have to accept the fact that there is no entertainment for our journey. The option is, can ask the cabin crew to change our seat if there is any vacant seat available. If not available, just go on with it. It would be a rotten luck for not be able to enjoy the ife. In your case, the cabin crew did not express his/her apologize to you, that is a wrong manner from the crew. The crew also have to take note of the broken or unresponsive ife so that when the aircraft comes to land, the ground technician will fixed the problem. The crew must be attentive towards you eventhough the ife can't be fix by them. I feel sorry for you. I working with mas, and I been through a lot of cases. Unresponsive ife is one of cases. Only the technician can bring the ife back to normal.

    After watching, I think you did a very good job recording this experience. I can kinda see what your expectations are but I think you have missed a few information:
    1. People don't usually sleep in day time flights and usually have more activities in their seats.
    2. If there are any problems in your seat, just talk to one of the flight attendants and they will find the best solution for you.
    3. This is a short flight compare to all other routes the A380 flies, the cabin crews don't usually have a lot of free time to talk.
    4. Cabin crews are working overtime on this delay, so they might not be in the mood to chat.
    You did a very good job in making this video and I hope to see more of it.
    If you ever got the chance to, try one of China Southern's Boeing 777-300ER route. Personal favorite for this airline XD

    If you pull out the TV screen it maneuvers slightly and their is USB ports there. Its dumb I know but it's there. Its attached to the tv itself on the bottom. That's why you have the four finger indentation right under the tv.

    The only thing that is a design problem is the lack of legroom (which exacerbated the reclining seat in front of you). The food not being to your liking is entirely subjective, and the broken air-conditioning is something that you could ask the crew to help you with -- it did not seem like a full flight, you could have asked to have been moved. People reclining their seat shows lack of flight etiquette, and you could have asked them to not recline their seat. The on-ground delay is an ATC problem. The crew are busy, and it is not their job to make small talk with you -- you would not like it if someone came to your place of work and tried to make small talk.

    This is far from a flight from hell. Once when I was flying first class the airline ran out of caviar and to make thing worse they offered my a bottle of Dom Perignon as way of compensation. Dom! the bloody cheek.
