For any doubters here it took me like a month to convince him to get this setup and an hour into playing with it he felt dumb for ignoring UL for so long. It's worth checking out, UL is an absolute blast. xD
I went UL at lvl 26 as I was trying to cast further on Belaya and I now use it everywhere when I spin fish with casting. The XP bump was nice but like CW says I catch other types of fish and make decent silver. I like variety so having UL just adds to the game. I’m getting into carp fishing now and then will work on going to sea, but when I want to have fun, I pull out the UL.
Been using ul for a long time and tbh the biggest benefit of ul is chasing weeklies. If you can get some rare weeklies on wacky you can pull in some decent bonus silver. For example If im fishing wild carp and bite is hot I’ll toss wacky ul for a while trying to get a random global weekly. Also tung and Yama are really good ul maps so thats a big plus for me too
The small island up the stream a little cast at the middle of island - Walk the dog, 2nd spot is at the mouth of the stream flowing into the main river, use original popper.
Ok, so lets say I have 3-12 medium-light rod, does this UL do anything better? Say Im gonna use the 5 gram popper or Spiker. Any reason to branch off into UL if I already have m-l 3-12 rod?
It's primarily about the % gap in weight towards the top end // For example; 1-5g rod test with a 3.5g spiker - the lure is at 70% of the load capacity meaning that you'll be at roughly 70% of your max casting distance. Low profile reels counter that % loss from the top end with the reel's 'test', having a lure which is a high % over your reels test (in this case with the pillar i believe it's 2.7g test) you'll offset the % loss from not being at the peak of your rods load range and let you cast much closer to the 100% possible distance. TL;DR - Lighter setup = you can LAUNCH smaller lures into the deeper pits = you make way more money and can target bigger fish.
You can use this to trophy hunt perch on mosquito, fish for burbot/char jigging on kuori (or just slap a spoon on and have fun wrestling 9kg lake/arctics), chub/pike fish on winding, pike fish OB, EVERYTHING fish on belaya, and once you unlock donets you can wacky/jig step spoons for punpkinseeds/sichel. There are pretty decent uses for UL in almost every map and the fights are a ton of fun. Once you get to lower tung/yama UL can make you a tonnnn of money when the spots are hot.
That’s because I announced at the beginning of December that the month of December would be live stream frenzy month which means no videos for the entire month to December and only live streams.
So you get 200 silver for an hour fishing using ul, and getting pretty much all shit fish. I don't see how there is more fun when using a light rod or trolling/fishing on a boat on another map.
I have 1500 hours of trolling kuori, 500 hours trolling Tunguska and yes trolling is probably better if you compare UL to that but one day you will get board of trolling and bottom fishing eventually. UL is extremely addictive and can make you a lot of silver, I made 200 silver there as I wasn’t focused 100% on fishing as I was focused on my recording, yesterday on Yama UL I made 1175 silver in 2h. I would have been on your side 2 weeks ago as I was against UL but now I opened my eyes and seen the opportunity’s. Ask any UL main people about UL and they will tell you how good it is.
UL is pure shit. -Only invest in Ultralight if you have nothing else to do and have tons of money-. Even if the rod is +300% xp you will still get more xp when fishing in the sea . We fish for fun yes but only when the outcome are rewarding. Sadly in this case I don't see how getting 50% of non-marker and small fish is fun. Its more like gambling hoping you can hook up to something nice.If you really like spinning why not fish for chinook or char? Archi and Tungska are some good places to fish and fight some of the toughest fish in the water.
I had the same attitude as you 2 weeks ago but I switched, easy to say how bad it is without actually trying a good UL setup, UL will target more of the rarer species like Snouts, Pinks, Arctic graylings, a lot of rarer fish will bite UL then reg setups. I seen someone make 3k silver in 2.5h at just at the river opening at Tunguska. I’ve made 1.75k silver at Yama most days in couple hours. Try using reg rod and making that much, reg rods and reels can’t cast far. UL makes you cast further to deeper holes that fish are in. UL attracts more rarer fish. Once you actually try a decent UL setup you’ll have fun but again everyone’s different you might not like it at all and that’s ok. There’s a lot of different fishing methods in this game and you won’t like em all.

I noticed the drag different in the shop, I'm guessing yours is upgraded?
Yes it is but it’s not needed what so ever, I had some extra silver lying around and decided to upgrade it even more. 😊
@@thecanadianway1999 Yeah, figured. You put me in a bit of a pickle. Kinda of want this, but also 1lvl away from sea and need to save for that. 🤣

What low level maps i can use this? (I know belya is one of them.)
This setup is specially good for beginner maps including Belaya!😊
