Their is wrestling schools in ireland. For example ; Cavan wrestling club , Celtic tiger freestyle wrestling club in drogheda. But wrestling isn't well known in ireland. We don't have many schools that practice wrestling which is a shame. I practice bjj and wresting in my club satori. Wrestling is essential for bjj. But I hope one day it will be a big sport in ireland.
@@MJ-uo7ho nice. I was born and bred in Dublin and never came across wrestling once. Quite a bit of judo and my school's headmaster loved boxing. Youre right that It would be good if things changed but football, rugby and GAA will always be a top dog in Irish schools I think.

Lately I’ve been looking for a good fairly simple take down tutorial. I’ve been doing jujitsu for a while, but I have basically zero ability to take people down. I am going to practice this a lot. Thank you
When I first saw this video I thought it was a nice takedown but but I would never get in that position. Then one day I end up in that exact tight waist / seat belt position, I do this exact same takedown without even looking for it it was just there and actually got to take down! Ever since then I've looked at various ways to get to that position, pummeling underhook etc and its been money ever since thank you coach!
Watched this at night, used successfully next morning without practicing it ahead of time. Transitioned to 'seatbelt' off failed cross grip tai otoshi - maybe by luck? Amazing how far away they can step their leg back and you can still hook it! That whizzer does start feeling pretty heavy though.

No... I know it looks like it can happen but the likelihood is very slim. The pressure is applied and the body will almost always fall to the floor instead of blowing a knee. Having said that, there is a possibility of knee damage and it’s usually if the opponent’s knee is sideways. The direction of this takedown should always be attempted to take the opponent toward his butt. Yes possible, very unlikely.

Very effective takedown, do this in judo all the time, we call it Ko soto gake. Very simple to learn and effective
