It's sad that this has happened to Shuler, those people who are still waiting on their wedding footage and who knows how many more people. But I understand Shulers frustration. You can file a UCC 1 lien on him. That will get his attention. He will need to satisfy the lien before he can make any more financial moves. If you need help doing this, let me know. IRS FORM SF 95 would be game over on him.

I can relate. I paid this guy upfront to shoot a spoken word video for me and we shot a few scenes but progress wasn’t being made......no video and I lost money...I learned a hard lesson from that. I was trying to support his business after my brother referred him to me but never again🤦🏽♀️

@Jack park Failure would have been to be late delivering the finished product. Failure would be a shaky camera or the audio messed up. This dude scammed people for their money. That's not a failure, he succeeded in that.
File report with states attorneys office for bad business practice.File law suit. If and there seems to be others taken by him you have enough whom he scammed file class -action law suit.

It can be a hassle, but maybe if he finds out you are following through to take action against him, he will try to make it right with you. If not, sue that crook!
@ShulerKing, my only question to you is, did you have a written service contract in addition to the verbal service agreement? If so, take him to small claims court. He obviously does this for a living and needs to be held legally accountable by being sued and made to repay the money he took for services not delivered. Good luck and I hope you decide to sue him.

Also, be mindful of any STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS that apply in your state for BREACH OF CONTRACT claims. It's been 4 years since the breach occurred. You may be able to claim FRAUD, if that statute in your state has a longer time. Sorry this happened to you.

So sorry to hear about all the individuals that did not receive their photos :( I came across this video after I saw numerous people posting about Damon L. Thomas on social media. While I did not know him, we attended high school together in Detroit. According to mutual friends from our high school, he passed away this past weekend. As a photographer myself, I am so sorry what happened to Shuler King and other clients. Just an unfortunate situation.

I think the same thing when people are like “ only support black businesses” etc etc. Like sis how you gonna shame people for not seeking out a business owned by Black people for this or that if for example you have limited resources and another business/company is doing the same thing for way cheaper? I once saw a story of where this Hispanic woman/company was going around in a majority Hispanic community and getting older Hispanic people who don’t speak/understand English well or at all..and who are low income or are having trouble keeping up with their mortgage...and she would get them to sign over their house to her....(except she did it in a way that wasn’t technically legally fraudulent, but obviously she didn’t really explain in detail what they were signing when they did). They trusted her because she was a fellow Hispanic and spoke their language and she literally stole their homes from under them anyways.....well over a dozen of them...... and some of them only had a handful of years left to pay off their 30 year mortgages.

I was born and raised in Sumter, South Carolina so when I ran across this video I asked my nephews did they know you and they said they did. They also confirmed who your family is. Slander means you can’t prove it and it was done intentionally to bruise or ruin someone’s reputation and or business. He clearly has proof, including the reviews of other clients who have experienced the same scam, and he has the right to warn others. People do it on YELP everyday.
