This video was extremely helpful! Your progressive drills are really effective and easily doable. To anyone hitting the floor too hard: the bottom-line is to put your legs vertically facing upwards while diving, rather than horizontally. This cushions the fall enourmously!
I HAVE WATCHED IDK HOW MANY TUTORIALS AND TRIED PRACTICING SO MANY TIMES. but THIS was the ONLY tutorial that actually helped!!!! IM SO GRATEFUL THANK YOU!!!
i’m really stupid. i really tried to do it when on carpet 😑. anywho i’ll be in the gym after school to practice this. THIS IS REALLY HELPFUL! THANK UUUU!!!
I wore long sleeves and pants when on carpet (the carpet was soft in the room I was in, so it helped with extra padding for my knees), but now I practice on hardwood floor. Carpet isn't actually that bad to practice on tbh
Thank you for this! Im going into high school and their making this something we have to learn on our own! Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely be practicing!
This is Tutorial gold. I have followed your instructions and now I can do the worm....well, and also the Dolphin Dive. Can't wait to show this to my team
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I quickly progressed to getting on my knee but realised that it would take time to master. I'm a setter trying to improve all of my skills and this helped me so much and was super clear!
Omg when you said the worm movement, I have the confidence and strength to do it, even though I’ve never done the worm movement, but I just kinda get what you meant and I started doing it, even though I haven’t try it with a ball but I think I can do it, thank you so much!
I’m doing mine on a mat since I also do cheerleading and I don’t think I should go on the floor yet. Turns out that was a bad idea and I rolled over my neck and it’s locked in place now :)
please do a tutorial on middle blocker/hitter footwork and spiking and also bumping a volleyball better, those are a few things I have to work on! I have tryouts in a week for freshman vb and Ive never been on a volleyball team but I'm pretty good I hope. You also did a really good job being specific and giving detailed directions and it helped me a lot. I subscribed and loved this video. Thank you
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner! I hope your tryouts went well! I had a lot of things going on for the past few weeks so I wasn't able to upload any videos but I am going to try and start uploading weekly!
OMG THIS WAS THE FIRST EVER VIDEO I REMEMBER WATCHING WHEN I FIRST GOT INTO VOLLEYBALL 4 YEARS AGO I WAS LITERALLY STILL A LITTLE KID AND IM IN HIGHSCHOOL NOW WORKING ON GETTING A SCHOLARSHIP FOR VBALL
this was extremely helpful!! i've done some clinics and training programs and they never teach us how to dolphin dive so i had to learn it on my own T_T
I have to tell you you made this video incredibly its awesome to see how crucial and great tips you say keep it up this was a very good video helped me a lot
Have no idea how I got to this video. Have never watched vollyball as well, I think it got reccomended because I watched some clips of that vollyball anime. But now I'm having the urge to try this out, it looks so cool. Hope I dont hurt myself.
How are you falling without hitting the ground with your knees? Are there any exercises to prevent that (improve it somehow)? Btw I love that video! I thought it’s impossible for me to learn that!!! Thank you for your tutorials!
when would one use a dive vs falling to your knees and sliding? i've only been playing off and on for a few years (i just got super back into volleyball) so i'm looking for lots of tips especially with diving/sliding
Hello ! I started praticing my diving and i'm not able to swing my leg so when start diving , i'm kicking with my leg and when i landed my leg goes immediatly down on the floor so sometime it hurt . Could u give me a tips for that ? ty
ive been a libero for about three seasons now and im tired of bellyflopping everytime i have a hard dive so thanks hopefully I'll actually learn how to dive 💀💀
i kind of got it but i really get hurt in my chest and then I get like a full body ache after which is rlly uncomfortable.. any tips or anyone that experienced the same?
I don’t know how this is gonna help me I’ve been trying for an hour and I can’t do it at all. I keep hitting my whole stomach on the ground and my other leg doesn’t go upwards.
The skill is all about gaining confidence, and can usually be learnt in a month or so. It took me a little longer than a month to learn, mainly because I was terrified of the floor but mastery can take several years and is an on going process.
Any ladies with like idk c+ cups whom have done this dive. Does it hurt bc like, ig yes extra padding but I feel like it would kind hurt. Let me know pls.
I don't think you realize how trash I am at diving. this is actually so frickin helpful. I actually get it now lo
Lol*
same here! i’m a libero on my schools team and yet i’m awful at diving so i finally decided to practice diving at home!
I did unnecessary diving during practices a lot, and I wouldn't even land right-
literally me.
THE THUMBNAIL I CANT- also I love y’all 🥺
Thanks for the detailed instructions! Very helpful!

I tried to do a pancake on carpet-

Sow, I never thought I would ever be able to do a regular dive, let alone a dolphin dive!! THANK YOUU
best explanation ever!!! I've struggled with diving for the past year, but I've got it down now, thanks to you!
Anyone after watching blood sweat &tears
serendipity too 😂
Y e s
Yup

surprisingly, I actually was able to go up to the sliding one with very little difficulty, Libero supremacy✌️ 😎
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I quickly progressed to getting on my knee but realised that it would take time to master. I'm a setter trying to improve all of my skills and this helped me so much and was super clear!
Thanks for the tips! I’m wanting to be a libero so I really wanted to know how to do this before hand! Thank you again!
Liberos are my favorite position
me being a libero and not yet knowing how to properly dive 🥲🥲
6:22 this is the moment where i had to overcome my fear 💀
I've always been terrified of diving
@@deyhydratedslime2003 same, even swimming

Now you gotta teach us how to do it down the stairs
my stomach hurt from just reading this lmfao
Or on carpet 🥲
I was following the tutorial with my phone on the ground (I’m on the ground too) I was watching it and diving, and I hit my chin so hard lmaooo
Same first time I tried too!! I tried standing up and my toes came smashing down hopefully they didn’t break but they throbbing
I’m doing mine on a mat since I also do cheerleading and I don’t think I should go on the floor yet. Turns out that was a bad idea and I rolled over my neck and it’s locked in place now :)
I got sore in my arms after the tenth one I did lol super helpful!
Thank you for this. This shows your love towards the game and it's intricacies.
I got scared thinking about letting my legs off the floor when my chest isn’t above hip level
You can also just plumb onto the ground if that's what you looking for haha
Great video :)
Could you show other ways of diving too?

When I was young girls never use the dive in volleyball. Even now they rarely use this skill. But it very good lesson !👍
and for good reason since men and women aren’t built the same. one of my coach’s friends, she sprained both of her wrists diving like this.

Thanks! I'm trying out on Sept 9 (2021) and I wanna be a libero!
Amazing Hair.. m volleyball lover. M excited to learn dive. I love this. And wanna do this as well.
I dont have any upper body strength to catch myself. I figured that out by face planting
4:42
Well explained in detail.
I'm a middle, but I've always wanted to have a pretty dive when I need it. 30 mins later I'm on step 3 and have bloodied my chin in 3 places 💀
I haven't even started my first day on volleyball lessons yet and here I am
can you dive when playing volleyball outdoors ? isn't way too painful ? also dosn't your chest hurt when you dive ?
I'm curious too-
Depends, I would say no for grass, but for beach go for it!
@@volleyballtutorials3451 thank you

Hi, I hope you answer this. Is it required that we can do push up before doing this?
I think so, mostly it requires arm strength
Edit: although I'm a year late
Omg thank you this helped so much
Can u do one for spiking??
Thanks 👍👍
how do you do it without hurting your chest??
i kind of got it but i really get hurt in my chest and then I get like a full body ache after which is rlly uncomfortable.. any tips or anyone that experienced the same?

guys you can laugh when you want to, we really don't care, and I feel like it's better if you guys do!
My arm is very weak, I can't do push-ups, and this whole movement, it's so heavy that my arm hurts for days.
This is so helpful
Are we supposed to be using any arm strength
How much time did you take to master this dive.
The skill is all about gaining confidence, and can usually be learnt in a month or so. It took me a little longer than a month to learn, mainly because I was terrified of the floor but mastery can take several years and is an on going process.
Been playing for 12 years and never learned the technique cause I played with knee pads as kid lol
i think i am just play middle idk why i cant do this dive i am trying to do this dive for one year and still cant do this right

Very helpful btw I always wonder y the video that need mote view r not getting views n meaning less videos r getting more views
Any ladies with like idk c+ cups whom have done this dive. Does it hurt bc like, ig yes extra padding but I feel like it would kind hurt. Let me know pls.
i dont know how to land gracefully like it hurts bad when i land
banged my chin a lot and am still trash at it but great tutorial I can semi do it now!
Thought this was for diving in water 😅 anyway good instruction
Thanks for the video. I always hurt myself when I do this. I’m thinking of getting a kneepad for it but ur not wearing it in the vid so ye idk aha
Get kneepads for sure not only are you preventing injuries but atleast for me personally, it makes me less scared to throw myself on the floor
I’ve got no problem with the floor bc I’m a gymnast 🤸♀️ and I gotta do crazy stuff that can be very scary at first.
I tried this then after my arm hurts😢
thanks girls
ROLLLLING...THUNDER!!!🗿
how in the hell did you not get tile burn please
thx!
Me, who got a volleyball three days ago: *tries the one with the knee up*
My chest: wtf, what about less air for u?
