Whether you are new to Zen or have been practicing for a while, this is still one of the clearest “explanations” (for lack of a better term) you can find. Muho is so inspiring!

This Muho guy has the three “A’”s in abundance: articulate, authoritative, accessible.

Muho, I thank you for this...most clearly explanation of Soto Zen I've heard. I live in Honolulu in a Soto temple, and I will share with our small Zazen Kai.

Hey just wanted to say what a killer podcast! I've binge listened to probably 90% of the episodes on spotify this week and it's got to be one of my favourite podcasts now. Any plans to do any future episodes?

Best explanation of zazen maybe misunderstands Rinzai. Rinzai also manifests “nothing further to seek”. Koans and koan training is more efficient for teacher/student training because it’s how you answer. Not the answer itself. At the end of the day just do zazen with no expectations. More zazen.

Well he studied at a Rinzai monastery too … so I doubt he “misunderstands” it …

Theres a Zen story about "going where there is no heat or cold."
A monk asked the teacher "How can I escape the cold and heat?"
Teacher said, " Go to where there is no cold & heat."
Monk asked again, "Where is there no cold or heat?"
Teacher said, "Exactly where there IS cold and heat!"
In the heart of struggle and effort, if we become totally present with that, then there is no pain, no suffering, and no cold or heat. Give yourself to what is here, now, in your work, lose your judgement and wishing. Just be there.
