    Great video Si! Travelled a lot up on the line to Warrington but never got out at the inbetween stations! Cheers for covering them - well done on the walk too!

    • @Sim0nTrains
      @Sim0nTrains  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks Vanmanyo, It be interesting in the future if any of these stations, mostly looking at Hartford to see if they end up getting a direct service to Manchester Victoria as London Northwestern Railway are planning to extend the Crewe to London Euston service to Manchester Victoria via Warrington Bank Quay in 2026. They planning to use the Class 730 EMUs but 2 units coupled up to make a ten coach train. Idea is good but practicality it's to early to say but it could be another failure like when they extended the London to Birmingham services to Rugeley TV/Liverpool Lime Street and Crewe via Stoke-on-Trent

      Thank you, Years ago used to have all day at Acton Bridge for the freight trains, even know the services were every 2 hours back then. Some people do stay there the entire night capturing freight trains and the Caledonian Sleeper trains I have heard between 1am to 4am the lights do go off at the station. But Acton Bridge is a very good freight location

    Great vlog Simon. Walking from Hartford to Acton Bridge good Jesus that’s why when I visit a station with an hourly service I always check to see if the following service is running and it’s not I basically have to annoying replan the day and not visit that station for an example!

      @Sim0nTrains  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes that was a option, I could had stayed at Hartford for 2 hours and got the train after that and be a hour behind what I had planned but chose walking as it was challenging a bit and plus it let me have the chance to look at places that I don't usually get to see like Weaverham

    By the way, it's not "weaver ham", it's "weave ram". Unless you are one of the very old generation of real Cheshire folk (I'm 66 and nowhere near old enough for this) in which case it's "ware um".
    I used to live just two miles from Hartford station, so it was my local WCML station. I well remember being nearly shaken to death on the class 304 units which did the Crewe-Liverpool run in those days.
    It's worth noting that the branch from the Cheshire Lines to Over which you mentioned is now the Whitegate Way and a very pleasant walk.

    • @Sim0nTrains
      @Sim0nTrains  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Did listen to how it was pronounced online and will admit I did mispronounce it thanks to a slience H, fair enough as it was a last minute decision to walk through "Weave ram"
      I did notice the line was Cuddlington to Over as a walking path when working on the map, it might be one for the future to walk

    • @davidjackson2580
      @davidjackson2580 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Sim0nTrains The only significant remaining railway structure (apart from the bridges) is the former Whitegate station, where the platform is intact and the station buildings are now a cafe with a large car park. It's a pleasant walk. I normally start at Whitegate station and walk one way or the other. However, the start of the route is not that far from Cuddington station and the end is not that close to Winsford station, but doable.

    Another bad thing London Northwestern Railway has done! Awful operator!
    Simon, I remember 13 years ago, you filmed the journey on a London Midland City, class 153 from Coventry to Nuneaton, you commented you would have to do it again, as there was 2 new stations being planned (Bermuda Park and Coventry Arena, since then the line extended to Leamington Spa, and 2 trains changed since, I think you would like riding it. Especially the scenery near Kenilworth, you could also mention the Nuneaton to Ashby joint railway, that nowadays is a walk called the Weddington Walk, and Bedworth’s water tower.

    • @Sim0nTrains
      @Sim0nTrains  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I can agree that it is another bad thing that they're done but there good days and bad days on the Railways and even know it is frustrating... I like it when things like this happen as it makes it interesting
