Finally getting a chance to catch up on your videos and am enjoying them immensely. I almost always have a vanilla sock on the go too. I’ve become a sock addict over the last couple of years. So glad to see Sagwa made an appearance in this video! Such a cutie!
I love your handkerchief, the throw blanket on the couch, your rug sweater- What a cozy little podcast episode! Socks really are the perfect project, aren't they? Pure mindless knitting
You are so kind Delilah, thank you!! I agree completely~ they are truly the perfect project, especially for busy days
You are such a lovely person. I’m always struck by your personality every time I catch up with you. Sending you and your family love!
Bethany you are always so kind and encouraging to me, I can't tell you how much it means!! Thank you ❤ Sending love right back to you and your sweet family! 🥰
Thank you for not making this 2 hours long.
Yep- the sunsets, and sunrises, last longer the farther North one goes 🙂🌄
Hello Gabriella. I am loving your cat just sitting there blending in. I am making a Cowl with baby alpaca yarn. It's super soft. I found pattern on Etsy. I will send a picture when I get more along. I am growing butternut squash for first time. Super excited. I love that purple sweater so beautiful. Have a great week of knitting. Your father n law will love those 🧦 too. Great job
Oh how wonderful your cowl sounds Kelly!! I am so excited to see it! Baby Alpaca is some of my favourite yarn, I really can't get enough of that softness. Thank you so much for your sweetness, I hope you have the most wonderful start to your week!! ❤❤❤
You are so lovely, I am so grateful for being able to watch your beautiful vlog 🙂
What incredibly kind words, thank you so much!! ❤❤
Kia Ora Gabriella, I enjoy hearing about your knitting and your lovely family (including cat in the background). The room you record in is so gorgeous. Knitting wise I am making endless Sophie Scarfs (such a great mindless knit) and I made a jumper for my dog which he is not best pleased about as it doesn't fit well around his burly chest!!! Back to the drawing board. Take care.
Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words!! 🥰 LOVE the idea of making a jumper for your pup- how cute!! And I hadn't seen the Sophie Scarf but it really does look like such a fun, mindless knit! Thank you so much for sharing, I'll have to keep it in mind for when I am tired of socks or need something else of that sort ;) ❤
I’ve just found your channel. I love the checkered collar! I may copy this!
Thank you so much!! ❤ Really? You're making me rethink my objection... I think it is a tiny bit too bulky for my liking, but maybe knitting in a smaller needle size would be a good solution.
So lovely to catch up on your latest podcast Gabriella. Your rug sweater is going to be so lovely and cosy. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
Thank you so much, lovely Kellie!! ❤ 🥰 ❤
Love the color of your Rug sweater! 💜
Thank you so much!! 🥰🥰
Youre cat is everything ! Your cosy sweater will be so cosy love the purple color ! I noted some patterns so thanks ! Being present in the moment is a thing that i love to do its really important ! Have a great summer 😘
You are so lovely, thank youuu! 🥰 ❤ Wishing you the most wonderful rest of summer too, with an abundance of peaceful, joyful makes 😘
Dear Gabriella,
I‘ve been binging your podcast for the last few weeks and now I have arrived in the present 😊 it has been such a joy to follow you on your journey and I am already looking forward to the next episode.
I really admire that you try to focus on the task you are on, even if it‘s boring (house) work. I‘ve been trying to do that to, but I am definitely not the best at it. When it comes to knitting though, I am clearly a monogamous knitter. This summer, it happened for the first time ever that I have been working on several projects at the same time, even garments. It was okay, but I definitely prefer to start a project and finish it in one go, before I start the next one. Since I sent one of my summer projects in hibernation (I can‘t wait for the fall to start, although the temperatures have been rising again the last two days😅), I was able to cast on the Cosmo sweater by Rust Knitwear today while I was enjoying your podcast🤗. I knit it in a beautiful rustic yarn by the Grey Sheep Co. and a matching mohair yarn.
I wish you a nice and hopefully cool rest of the summer 😎
Beautiful cat 😍❤️ and I love the throw (?) on your sofa.
Thank youuu!! 🥰 ❤ Both are huge treasures hehe!! ❤
Hello Gabriella it was nice to see your progress with Rug sweater which is gorgeous and I like this colours you chose. I almost finish my Rusty cardigan (free patterns) from Raverly. I knitting with Nutiden yarn, which it will be very light. I wishing you a nice evening 😊
The Rusty cardigan looks so lovely (free patterns always make it especially fun ;) ) and I can only imagine how gorgeous it will be in Nutiden yarn. What a dream!! Wishing you a wonderful week full of joyful making 🥰 ❤
I’ve just discovered your channel and really enjoyed your lovely podcast. I will go back and watch previous ones now! I checked Ravelry and saw your shawl design and it is gorgeous! I’m working (close to done) on the Marina shawl and loving it (in fact, I’m sad that I’m almost done). Your shawl is on my to do list now! 👏👏👏
Thank you so very much for your kind words!! ❤ Oh the Marina Shawl is stunning.. I wasn't familiar but went to look and am truly in awe. I can understand your sadness at being done!
I also am knitting the rug sweater and love it! nice podcast, I subscribed. X Julia
Thank you so much for your kind words Julia!! ❤ What fun it is to know that you're knitting the Rug sweater as well!!
I’m knitting a 2-color fair isle scarf from that beautiful burgundy Ullcentrum yarn you sent me last year! Cherishing it to bits and so glad to hear from you during this coincidence!
Oooh this has made my day!! Thank you for sharing, lovely friend ❤
Er wird sich so sehr freuen!!!! ;)))
Hi, 17 to 22 degrees are my Perfect temps. First time viewer here. Subscribed! I'll be back xxx❤
Welcome, it is sooo lovely to have you!! ❤ ❤
So glad to catch up with you! I love what you said about being present in every moment. I tend to always be slightly distracted (just the nature of having four young kids lol) so it's a great reminder to put more effort into slowing down and practicing gratitude. Thank you!
Your rug sweater is absolutely gorgeous and that purple flatters you so well! ❤️
You are so kind and encouraging Makayla, thank you!! ❤ I am so in awe of you and all that you do and make with all of your littles in tow! I definitely need to learn from you 🥰
What a great podcast episode! I loved what you said about monogamous knitting, that's been my journey as well - that I'm learning I just need a small number of projects for it to not be overwhelming and to keep giving me joy and a sense of being present in the process. But I really appreciated your understanding that this is not how everyone is wired and that is equally valid! I think its about learning yourself. I would see people w a million projects and think it looked so fun that Id think I could be liked that but then it would totally stress me out. My current one exception to the small number of projects rule is likr you said the ugh factor. If I really am hating a project then I have permission to try again by casting on something Im excited to focus on.
I agree with you completely (and your experience resonates with me so much). It is such a learning process, and so wonderful when it "clicks" after some self reflection. Having grace for that "ugh" factor is definitely needed for those moments as well!! ❤
The blouse is adorable! I think it would be a beautiful knitted product! And I love seeing the progress of your rug sweater - it looks like it will be an incredibly cozy sweater for the colder months!
I'm knitting on the Oversized Seasons Cardigan and the Oona socks and I'm having a blast, but I can totally relate to wanting to cast on something new! I'm right there with you holding off because I'm having so much fun with the two I'm knitting that I don't want to cast on something new and stop my progress 😊
Exactly!! It's probably destined to be our struggle forever, haha!! But so worth it ;) Those two projects are lovely though, and very worth the wait ❤😊 ❤
@@MerryweatherKnitting Hehe I agree - totally worth it 😍 happy knitting, Gabriella!
Lovely podcast and sweater! Glad to "meet" you. I just finished crocheting the "Bad Boy Coat" (kimono style sweater created after an anime character - on Etsy) for my 15 yo daughter. I am making the Sock Head Slouch Hat (free on Ravelry), and I am awaiting some lovely gel food colors to dye five skeins of wool I have to make a simple cardigan in my favorite colors for fall/winter. I have had success dyeing with gel food color and vinegar, and you can use your kitchen supplies.
Thank you so much, it is so lovely to have you ❤ What fun to crochet a piece like that for your daughter, that is sooo special!! I hadn't heard of dying yarn with food colouring but that sounds like such a fun creative project, thank you so much for sharing! I might have to try it myself sometime soon... 🥰
Beautiful podcast ❣️you are looking so well and happy - so lovely to hear about your life and knitting ❣️🙏❣️🧶🧶🧶❣️
You are so kind, thank you so very much!!! ❤🥰 ❤ Wishing you a wonderful week full of joyful, inspiring making!
You are so lovely and I just adore watching your podcasts! Your projects are always so beautiful and I always feel like I’m sitting with a friend chatting about projects. So fun!
Oh these are the most lovely, encouraging words to read~thank you so much! ❤
Hi 1st time viewer and really enjoyed your podcast. I am curranty crocheting a baby blanket for a baby shower coming up. But what i dearly am itching to get back to is to knit on my 2nd Pressed Flowers Cowl by Amy Christoffers (I also want to knit up the shawl but haven't decided on yarn or colors) the 1st one I knit was so much fun and immediately started a 2nd one in a different color. Your rug sweater I really do like your modification in the colorwork section It is coming along so nice!
Thank you so much! It is so lovely to have you ❤❤ Ooh thank you for sharing, I wasn't familiar with the Pressed Flowers Cowl and it looks like such a beautiful design!! The perfect combination of interest and rythum, with a stunning product!!
Great reminders to remain in the moments!
Your Rug Sweater is gorgeous. I’ve wanted to knit it but felt the design wasn’t for me as well, now I will revisit and possibly give a go at tweaking the design. Wonderful!
Thank you so much! I am so glad that you like this version as well! I felt the exact same way, and with some personalization it has become a piece I've loved knitting and know I will love wearing even more ❤❤❤
You make an excellent case regarding relocating to Germany. 😊 I’m glad you and your family are well. Your Rug sweater looks beautiful. I finished a sweater project yesterday. I need to have a bunch of projects on the go. I switch back and forth as I’m inspired.
You are so sweet, lovely Beate!! 🥰 CONGRATULATIONS on finishing a sweater project! It always feels like the most wonderful accomplishment. ❤ I am definitely in awe of your ability to keep many projects on the go, maybe one day I'll be able to join you, haha!! ❤ Wishing you a wonderful week fully of joyful making 🥰 ❤
Hi Gabriella 😊 I've been enjoying your podcasts since I discovered your channel via the Calville Shawl video 🍏🧺 It seems you were inactive for a while due to sickness, did I catch that correctly? If so, I'm hoping that you're feeling much better. It was so nice to hear about your trip to the states, the yarn festival, and your current inspirations! I also went to a yarn festival in Seattle, WA called Flock. It was a heavenly time and I was so inspired. I'm rushing my current WIPs before I cast on my new wool from the festival - kind of like you!
You are so kind, thank you!! I was indeed out of commission because of sickness (though it was *thankfully* pregnancy sickness and nothing serious) and the early days of having a new baby. Your words mean so much ❤ How wonderful that you got to attend a yarn festival too! I love the name "Flock" for a festival! Isn't it such a treat to come home with new wooly treasures from a place like that? I'm hoping you're getting to knit with some of those new treasures now too ;) 🥰 ❤
@@MerryweatherKnitting I'm glad to hear that your ailment was due to a joyful thing, but it's still a trial! And yes indeed, with a sock skein from the festival (Marigold colorway by CapellaLuna) I started my first pair of socks. I am accepting the inevitability that they may not be perfect as my first socks, but I'm so happy to start! Learning a new process brings me joy 😊 And something funny - I went to the festival with the mind to buy yarn for the Two of Wands Ballerina Wrap Top as well (and found something!) Not long ago, I put on a random podcast episode of yours, and there you were discussing that top and using the gorgeous red yarn. Did you end up finishing that project? I'm eager to know!!! 💗🧶
Best,
Era
New viewer here. I couldn’t stop admiring the blanket on your sofa. 🥰 Where did it come from? Did you make it?
Thank you, and welcome!! ❤ Oh how I wish I could say yes... no, I didn't make it, but was lucky enough to find it second hand. It isn't handmade (it has a small tag) but it is so lovely and I do think it adds some handmade charm to the space. One day I'd love to crochet something like that but my skill are not yet up to par!
Along with your knit projects, I was noticing the afghan on the back of the sofa. Did you make it? If so, what is the pattern and what yarn did you use? Your home looks very cozy.
Thank you so much!! ❤ Oh how I wish I could say yes, but alas, no I did not make it myself! I was lucky enough to find it second hand. It is a simple light yarn (fingering weight, I imagine) star/flower motif crocheted Afghan~ I am sure there are patterns one could use to replicate it!!
