Rodan certainly had the most tense action sequence! Full tilt like a Mad Max car chase. And up until he's mere yards from the Argo right before meeting Ghidorah, you are clenched like no other!
I heard they had plans for a Rodan solo movie a couple years back, alongside a mothra solo one, but with the recent news of the monsterverse potentially ending after Godzilla Vs Kong...
I grew up with "kaiju". Pacific Rim made it seem like a kaiju just means a mutated beast, while Rodan is a perfect example of a true kaiju-powerful, strong, and wise enough to see past the next fight.
Woodrow Pride I’ve seen Rodan’s First Solo movie from 1956 it was one of my first introduction to the whole Kiju genre(is why I have such a affinity for the character) and would LOVE to see Rodan from king of the monsters get his own spin off that pays great homage to the 1956 Film
When the Internet inevitably makes humanizations of the Monsterverse versions of Kaiju, Rodan would probably be indeed a Hispanic/Latin American dude based on where he emerged from. Mothra, a Chinese lady(particularly a Chinese MILF, don't judge me), King Ghidorah and Godzilla well IDK, and Kong probably from the Oceania nations.
Godzilla: The King Mothra: The Queen Rodan: The Joker Kong: The Jack Ghidorah: The Ace I might have thought this a little bit too far but I believe it's accurate.
@@OddSifr I still have blanks how the hell Kong can go toe and toe against Godzilla in the next upcoming sequel. I mean just look at the sheer size in comparison and the power and strength each kaiju possessed. Godzilla is overall superior in all levels and stats. And don't get me started of strategy and plan that Kong could concocted. He barely survived against two Skullcrawlers.
@Rogue Ascendant I never defended Kong as a match against Godzilla and I will feel cheated if Kong wins next year. My rating was not meant as a scale of power, but as a scale of... well... mythos, I'd say. How impactful and legendary (HAHAHAHA LEGENDARY BECAUSE THEY PRODUCED THE MONSTERVERSE LMAO LOL) these monsters are in the Kaiju culture. And yes, for me Kong deserves that high a place. There are numerous and numerous Kaiju that would spank this monkey, but not necessarily as an icon.

@Jaime bro I would've killed to hear McCreary remake the classic Ghidorah The Three Headed Dragon theme. Sucks that they couldn't have done that. Guess I can't complain because this is one of my favorite songs from the movie

Can we take a moment to discuss the terrifying reality that Rodan was easily able to run down F-35's? You know, the most advanced jet fighter in the US Air Force at this moment in time?
I think some aren’t giving enough credit to the notion that these were primordial gods. Idealistically, it wouldn’t matter what aircraft you put against Rodan, you’re challenging the Fire Demon/ god of the skies in his own territory, you’re bound to lose.
Considering Rodan flies at mach 2 while F35's fly at mach 1,6 that is no surprise. But ultimately it doesn't matter what jets you use. You are challenging the King of The Sky in his own domain. Victory is out the window. You'd be lucky to survive
Fun fact: Monarch's website kind of implies that ancient people actually _did_ sacrifice people to Rodan, though there's no mention of them throwing the sacrifices into volcanoes (personally, though, I wouldn't exclude it as a possibility). There's a cave painting of Rodan that is mentioned as having traces of human blood in the pigment, with the scientists speculating that it was either commemorating the warriors who died fighting him or an offering to keep him happy so he won't destroy the place again.
Definitely agreed. My favorite part of this song (the middle part with the drums) ramps up right as Rodan hits the skies! It was amazing and probably my favorite scene next to the ending.
@@INFERNO95 Idk, but i bet Rodan be like, "Enough for this rubber, I'm outta here." Then he flies to the volcano for his rage lol. But no offense, I'm still loving Toho's work for all kaiju especially for this Fiery Bird 👌

If ee have a rodan mod in angry birds. Oh wait, imagine if we have a godzilla game, but we're playing as a soldier, trying to find ORCA in the middle of Godzilla fight. Like a god of war gameplay style
That whole chase scene was so fucking intense, then the Argo keeps heading into the giant storm, and all those lightning flashes revealing the barely visible shadow of Ghidorah in the distance gave me fucking CHILLS, especially when he just opened up completely wings and all and then Rodan just charges right into him, God damn I love this movie.
Well he is one of the few monsters in the monsterverse capable of shrugging off Godzilla's Atomic Breath attack. And is best described as Godzilla's archrival.
I'm seeing the movie... twice.... and buying the blu ray when it comes out... and for the first time... I'm buying the soundtrack because this is awesome.
Rodan was an absolute aerial menace. Watch that scene with Rodan fighting Ghidorah again. Rodan uses his wings and weight perfectly to fight the much larger Ghidorah. You could argue that he got taken down easily, but that hit was like tripping Rodan in the air. His wings were his main source of the beating he was unleashing on Ghidorah, and he could've gotten back from it had they not been over an ocean. To be fair, it was three on one, but Rodan used his abilities and strengths to good use and could've injured Ghidorah a lot more had the fight not been so close to the ocean. Later, during the fight with Mothra, you can see this again. Rodan uses his weight to throw off his opponents while unleashing a hail of pecks, bites, and clawing. Mothra is a lot lighter than Ghidorah, so Rodan had no trouble throwing her around. Fighting someone accustomed to the air as much as he was couldn't have been easy, but Rodan eventually gained the upper hand by using the environment around him to his advantage, slamming Mothra into buildings and at one point, the ground, before slamming her into a building and holding her there, wings spread out so she couldn't possibly escape. He wasn't looking at her freaking butt, he was looking at her head (the weak spot and he knew the fight would be over if he got a direct hit on it) and her claws, which had already done a lot of damage when they could, and via intimidation he planned to swoop down and end his enemy once and for all. This is why he didn't see the stinger coming, he was focused on his task-eliminate the enemy of a king that had served him well for his labors.
He hasn't had one since 1956. He became a Godzilla supporting character after 1964's "Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster" which this movie is largely inspired by.

So good.
Even more evidence that we need another Rodan solo film.
He hasn't had one since 1956. He became a Godzilla supporting character after 1964's "Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster" which this movie is largely inspired by.
