Been a subscriber of both these channels for some time and do enjoy their work. On the subject of sprue/spruce goo I use it but only the sprue from the kit I am working on and never mix one mixture between kit makers. But now I think I shall start using plastic card to mix up my goo brew. Thanks as always for you yeoman efforts. BTW I was making some avatars for a friend of mines TH-cam and FB page and did a couple of extras for yours which include Jess. If you are interested in seeing them just reply to my comment and I will email them to you and you can use or discard them as you choose with no hard feelings on my part. As always Cheers and stay safe mate.

Nigel Another excellent update for us. Fabulous work and useful tips. I am pleased that you are keeping true to your own desires and wishes and not been driven by external pressures. I feel a return to the Hellcat will bring the punters out in their droves and put a smile on many a face, including mine. A brilliant and very honest channel. A great credit to you. Best wishes.

Well folks, there you go....thats why all the hard work changing the Hull, now it looks more like the Titanic and not a block of plastic with rounded ends. All feminine sheer line curves restored! Great work Nigel, well worth the effort and will be doing mine also.

    Hi Nige ,
    Good catch-up ,
I have been following all these model ship builds from various channels ,I just love these Trumpeter big ships ,I have always had a fascination with warships for some strange reason, perhaps it was my father who cut up the dining room table to make a model of one in the 1960s lol ,but I can also suddenly swap to something else if it catches my interest too ,it's good to vary your builds I think ,

I have to admit the Titanic series has been my favorite so far, I'd love to see that when it's done. Yorktown is my 'second' favorite - and I'm not a ship modeller either - but that's not the point, It's enjoying the tips and advice that apply to all models.

with reference to sprue glue, and styrene sheet, be very careful, not all so called styrene sheet is what we would expect it to be i have had to get rid of two made up pots now as the so called styrene didnt properly melt

I know what you mean. I now avoid "styrene" that is shiny.

I have to admit the B52 and Titanic series have not been my cup of tea at all. As for all the work you've put into getting the Titanic as you want it, if it was me that would have been chucked in a box and left to rot. Though I have enough kits I've started and still haven't got round to picking them back up to finish them, 1/48 c47 for the D-Day anniversary maybe I'll finish it for the 100th, a Tiger Tank with more etch, resin and diorama bits that make the original cost of the kit look like peanuts! Ah one day when I have spare time and the enthusiasm for kit building again I'll dust down the boxes and finish them. Hi from another part of Gloucester by the way.

@@NigelsModellingBench I think I originally found your channel via a search for Saturn V builds, the 1:144 scale one. I had the 1:96 one to build at the time (still haven't broken the seals on the box), I had just purchased the real space replacement CSM about a week before you reviewed it. I was sorry to hear the story of why you will probably never build your 1:96 Saturn V. My stash runs from a pair of 1:10 nuclear bombs, a lot of 1:35 armour, aircraft in either 1:144 or 1:48, space/sci-fi kits (there are a lot of Bandai Star Wars kits, mainly the trooper figures and 1:72 ships that have been built but not been decal'd/painted). I like nearly all of your content, the armour, aircraft, builds, and reviews. You tend to lose my interest when the builds drag on for large numbers of episodes (about 20 seems to be it), the titanic and B52 being prime examples. I liked the RC tank build as that was at a scale where your changes really made a visual difference at least to my eyes and kept me engaged and following the series. But, please could you finish one of the builds once in while, looking through the past videos/playlist there are far too many that just peter out without a conclusion, the DORA 80 cm, the hellcat, the RC tank. Maybe you could do a video on why you stopped word on those builds, ie lost interest in the subject, seriously bolloxed it up, or the kit was just too "wrong" for you to finish it. I shouldn't really have a dig here, as there are far too many things started and but back in their boxes on my racking shelves where the stash lives, and I'm not even trying to present a video while doing them unlike you. I very much appreciate all the time and effort you put into this channel, but you can't please all of the people all of the time.
