I just tried it. No it is not possible because the logic board on the iphone 5se is slightly thicker. So there is not enough space between casing and batterie.

I manage to completely kill the iPhone but I did take everything apart and put everything back to its original spot with the right screw so I'm proud of that! update: it turns out I had to plug it to power and it IS ALIVE! now im going to buy a new mother board and start using it!!!!!

You're supposed to disconnect the battery before removing any of the screen connections or the cover.

KInda late but no you can't use the current home button because each home button only works with its set processor
