This video explains in general how to play, and how not to be murdered by the Alien, the Average Joes and people, as well as how to more effectively use equipment. I also talk about how to get the 'don't die achievements.'
Thanks for watching guys, and please like and sub if I have helped you here!
Yeah hiding in lockers does work if you do it properly - I've so found out the motion tracker can be heard by enemies if it's equipped in the locker!
Have u tried using your gun to alert the alien and kill off a bunch of people with a single shot?
I have. It's awesome. You have to worry about the alien cruising about then, but there are some really great places, like before getting into a vent where it works to clear the whole area!
But if he can't see you when you get in then it can buy you time when needed
@@thefalloutscrolls9124 I just use a noisemaker, it ensures the alien wont come after you as long as your enemies dont come and hide next to you.
How polite of the alien to wait until you finished to greet you!
I just got this game and i am not ready for this
Lmfaooo
Lmfaooo
How many times did you play it now, after 4 years lol. I got somewhere around new year I think and played through it 4 times haaha

This game looks so Friggen cool, I wish I had enough guts to play it
There is only one way to find out. As for I am now downloading it to give it a try.
@Michael Chad Lynch me to bro! Its awesome but the first real encounter with the alien was really hard
Don't worry its not that scary the only scary thing is not saving and losing progress
Hello from the future! I too passed on this game for 7 YEARS cuz I'm a scardy cat. BUT, I started playing it on Hard, and if you are caution and quiet, even I have been progressing! Treat it like a stealth game where you can't get spotted, and you can do it. Anyway, hope this encourages you to try it, its so much fun!
@@timeforown2234 I agree with you. If you are killed for the first time by alien, It will get easier to play.
For any one watching this in 2021 I have a tip for the human enemies if you hide and watch them they will have a movement pattern and you can sneak up behind and take them out in 2 hits with the wrench also for robots you can’t use the stun baton and then hit them 4 times with the wrench to take them down.
Thanks man.
I’m playing the game now and I’m on the same level as on the video. 😄
*Alien enters area*
*I hide in locker*
*Alien's looking around room*
*I bump the locker wall*
*Alien runs up and rips off door*
Alien: "ayyy lmao"
"Shit"

haha!
Damn hospital level! It took me THREE MONTHS to beat it! I even had to commit the ultimate gaming sin of dropping the difficulty to EASY.
why is that a sin
@@elnoare reputation wise
I just beat the first part of the hospital level (trying to find doctor Morleys keycard) is there still a lot of trouble I’m going to have to go through? (Without spoilers pls)
@@northkai7.9bviews4secondsa2 yes, but you're past the worst part. Take advantage of noisemakers and smokescreens.
@@caitlinbrewer4843 ok thanks
These tips helped me a lot - I'm playing this game for the very first time on Hard and scaring myself to death. I haven't seen the Alien yet, but having trouble just learning how to get stealthy. I picked Hard because the game said "recommended" in the description, but now I think maybe I should lower to Medium since I'm a noob? LOL I subbed to your channel, too :)
it's worth it on hard because it gives the game more atmosphere, but if you are struggling to stay alive then definitely lower the difficulty or it might ruin the enjoyment! thanks for sub and hope you survive!
+Goose UK I'm still trying on Hard. I just take frequent breaks when dying a lot gets to me, haha.
Rachel Rosebud fuck that lmao im a pussy i went medium
@@Tundra0128 yeah me too, but it is annoying to fight against humans and other shit so im glad
My first time was playing it on hard mode and it was worth it. Cuz u feel more joy finishing the game with more challenge
At the end of the video - Did the alien finally decide to pop out of the vent in the room?
If I remember rightly, It came out behind me when I was looking the other way - right at the end. It was too late to react... I'd hung around too long talking to you guys haha!
That's my luck
These tips are good! My only (tiny) complaint is that sometimes the talking gets quiet, as though the speaker is moving away from the microphone, making me miss a couple of words every now and again.
As it stands the video and sound quality is very good, while the tips were given out with minimal drag. I'm happy there wasn't any rambling or derailing in this video. You won't believe how often it occurs with tip videos.
Thanks for your comments. I'm aware of the mic on Xbox - I think I will be upgrading shortly. It's much harder to get feedback until it's done with the consoles as opposed to PC recording too...
I also agree with your comments on tips videos - I like my information fast, and so I try to do just that! =)
its cause he getting scared so he's moving away so he doesn't get spooked as much
I played a lot of stealth games, but this one is just different. You dont have safe spot, here you just need to know the AI of alien, and only that can help.
How do you put items away??? It's annoying the fuck outta me. I picked up a flare but didn't want to use it. And she's just holding a flare now...always because I can't put it away
When you get a gun you can switch to that and it’s put away as long as you aren’t aiming it. I know you’ve probably figured it out already because it’s been 4 years, but I figured it’s worth a mention.
You don't need to walk in perch mode all the time. I played the game once again the other week and like many others i kept kneeling like most of the time of the game everytime i played it. But this time i was kinda annoyed by walking low in like every room. So i just walked upright. No alarm for the Alien or the Joes (unless you are spotted of course) What will give it away is when you start running. That will alarm the Alien and the Joes. But if you feel saver perching the whole game, go on....
sultaa86 What I do is I mostly walked crouched. But if I’m in a larger room and there isn’t much noise from the vents I’ll walk normally. Never run unless absolutely necessary.
It’s mostly situational. If the alien is within 60-80 range then never walk
"If your trying to play all the way thru without being killed that's ridiculous, good luck with that". No truer words have ever been said.
Thanks for the tips, Goose! My first attempts at play were very frustrating/discouraging as I'm so used to FPS games where my instinct is to run & gun. This game takes PATIENCE, and your tips go a long way in reducing the "angst factor."
I am at mission 12 at the moment. Sometimes running is better than hiding and going slow. Yes, sometimes the game is unfair, but not very often. I have respect for the alien, but in my opinion it is not the hardest enemy. The Alien is always roaming and making noises. You can track it nearly all the time. Not the working Joes. I even think their vision radius is higher than the Alien's. The robots are exhausting. You see the Alien, you throw a flare/noisemaker and it is satisfied. If you have to fight, you use the flamethrower. The Robots do not react very well on distractions, as far as I know. Of course you can outrun they very easily, but the most time you can not hide in a vent etc. Too kill one of them you need one headshot with the Shotgun or one hit with the taser plus a weing with the maintence jack. Shotgun rounds, as well as Taser-Charges are very rare and hard to find. I dont know, I prefer fighting/dealing with the Alien. If it gets you, you are dead. Over. Restart, do it again. Working Joe: It finds you, you can not pass him, only fall back, when he touches you, you have to face a stupid fight. Use the shotgun? good idea, sadly they do not come alone.
I dont know, I have 7 missions to go. ;)
if you stun one android, all surrounding androids share the grab animation cooldown, meaning you can just run right by them since all they can do is punch at you for about 6ish seconds.

I like how you say "... and hope the game hasn't decided you have to die", because that's exactly the impression I get from time to time. And Alien: Isolation isn't the worst game in this regard by any means, but it does do it regularly - also on lowest (that is: Normal) difficulty[1*].
.............
[1*] - I tend to not count Easy mode in, because there are so few who play it (at least there are very few who mention that they are playing or have been playing on Easy mode. - I came across a post in a TH-cam comments section where the poster mentioned they were playing on Easy, and I thought I was having a hard time on Normal, so I decided to start a new play-through on Easy, but there wasn't any difference between the two difficulties that I could tell, so I returned to play on Normal as I've always done in my first play-throughs.
I finished the game on easy.Would'nt have made it without utube videos as its so hard and scary!
i have the game but i am to scared to play like when i even see my soul will leave my body
Hey I just wanna know if the facehugger can attack others or does it just follow you like a lost puppy 🐶 lol?
Thanks for the tips. I'm coming back to this game from 2015. I am committed to completing it.
I'm about to replay it. I think I may need to watch my own videos back, some hard stuff to find in this game.
How’s it going? I’m at this exact point in the game and it’s crazy. In this video the alien isn’t around but in my game it’s constantly Turning up in that room. I don’t even get time to access the terminal. 😅
@@christov8752 I completed it but I had to swallow my pride and lower the difficulty level to 'novice'. I'm at work now so can't see the video but my tips are, save as often as possible and preserve your flamethrower fuel. Also use one of the noise emitters if you need to throw the alien off for a few seconds! Good luck!
@@christov8752 Sometimes you have to wait forever and it’ll finally move on or kill the other humans.
@@25anomaly yes true. I’m past this point now and the game has really opened up. Incredible game. It’s become one of the best games ever in my honest opinion.
Just got the deluxe edition on sale for $7.99 I couldn’t pass it up I’m having a good time on it
Waaaaaat I paid full price for the normal last week!
@@GooseUK lol dude I hate when that happens, you buy a game and a week later it goes on sale. That’s kinda why I stopped buying games full price unless it’s a game I really want on release
@@slowmobius2136 it was free on epic games lol so rip
I know this was posted a year ago but I was playing the other day and running from the alien works if you do it right. mostly you gotta break line of sight right as you start running away and hide. oh and hide in a spot away from where he last saw you. I learned that the hard way. I ran and hid. it lost me and started looking for me. it took him about two minutes looking in the room then he looked under the table i was.
If you need more I've found out that pipe bombs also scare off the alien if you're in throwing range
Thanks dude! You know in my whole playthrough (and I was looking for stuff carefully) I never found the pipebomb schematics! :p
It's in the first part of the hospital when the doctor send you in, it's in a small room before the Cresent hall way, it's in the room across from the vent leading to a supply closet
Jacob Scott
Thanks! I'll look out for it when I'm on my 'no deaths achievement' playthrough...
Tips and tricks for fighting against alien and other enemies:
1. When hiding in lockers make sure to lean back and perhaps also hold your breath when the alien is nearby
2. Walk or crouch around, do not run. Running against the alien is instant death
3. Use items to distract the alien (flares, noise maker, flash bang grenade, ect) but keep it mind that the alien is an intelligent creature and will not always fall for the items every time. It works best the first time around
4. Crouch behind objects that are taller than you to avoid being seen
5. Molotovs and flamethrowers are the best weapons against the alien
Honestly, the tips in this video are some of the best I've found so far. I Just subscribed thanks for the tips man👍
Bro i just don't know how to proceed or what to do in terms of Mission , like in spider man 2018 i press v to scan and it shows stuff to do like a marker, is there anything like that here?
Great video, I've owned this game since it first came out, played it once, then got too busy with work and moving, so didn't play it again for bout a year, quit shirt after starting cuz i figured I'd wait until i actually remembered to buy a goddamn cable to run from my 360 to my surround sound so that i could know exactly what direction the sounds are coning from... never did buybone and kept starting a new game every few years and now I'm really going to try to stay committed to it. Which is hard to do sometimes being an adult and all that.
*If you're not playing on Nightmare difficulty on your initial game, you're playing it wrong. It gotsta be played on that difficulty the first time.*
Well I wouldn't recommend it. The resources are shit and if it's your first time you'll pee your pants and possibly even leave the game permanently. Even on my 3rd try I just found it frustrating. Hard is the way to go for me and if you're really bad at stealth games go for normal.
I play on normal and on the third mission there was this scene where you have to sneak past a couple of humans. I'm so bad at stealth games that I died three times there. And that was before the first scripted encounter of the alien. Now that I've had that I'm so scared I haven't touched the game since. So yeah, I'm not gonna touch nightmare mode ever in my life.
Tabea Tamm here’s a tip for that part, use a flare and throw it in the corner somewhere to distract them
I need more tips sometimes the alien will bust open my locker even if there’s no way it could have possibly seen me go in and I did everything right to avoid.
the game is super oldschool and random. I've just recently played it again. Used my own guides !
@@GooseUK I'll too. Finally, after years of unistalling I will finish this
The alien straight-up cheats. The director AI is way too specific when giving the Alien AI your "general location" so it can automatically home-in on your location even if you haven't done anything.
Question can you stun the alien with a revolver or make it retreat temporarily?
No. Not with the revolver. Only the flamethrower and molotovs are effective.
A direct hit with a shotgun or bolt gun will stun the alien for a couple of seconds but it will be very angry with you afterwards lol. not particularly useful except maybe for some very specific situations
just bought this from G2A for £10 all in as its way more on the steam store coz its not in a sale, thought i would watch some tips videos as i am new to it, normally hate "horror" games where you cant attack or defend your'self but with this i can shoot n stuff which is great, really looking foward to this once its installed :) great video and cheers for the tips old chap
I’ve just gotten this game Sunday and I’m struggling to use the medkits as I don’t know how to 🥺
Idk if you have figured it out yet, but all you have to do is press the button (on ps4 its circle) that pops up the wheel with your devices (revolver, flares, medkit) and point in the direction of the medkit with ur right analog stick then on the bottem left near your health you should get a prompt to hold a button to heal yourself. On playstation it's square
@@wayfaring_stranger2215 thank you so much!! I’ve been trying to figure out for hours
@@aoliaoi4380 no problem, the items and crafting in this game is very different from what im used to so i got confused as well in the very beginning of the game lol.

Does the motion tracker point you towards your objective
No. It does point in the general direction of the threat.
Yeah it does actually
I came here after not wanting to move after my first encounter with the alien
One tip if you must hide and take a sprint for 2 seconds do it and always run if youre by the elevator youre on
Thing im surprised about is: How the hell did a scaredy cat aka me have the guts to finish it on nightmare?
Great tips mate. Could you do a video about the items? I can't find any video that demonstrates key uses of the items, & testing out is kinda difficult when having a Alien breathing down ya neck! LOL!

How to get maps to show on controller Xbox please
Are you playing on og Xbox I don’t know why but my graphics on the PS4 don’t look good unless you’re on pc with a controller
If you don't have medkit blueprints can you still get health
Tip #1 for fighting the Alien: DON'T FIGHT THE ALIEN!!
If you shotgun at a far enough range you can stun it for a few seconds. While it’s stunned it loses line of sight meaning you could blast it and then hide in a locker

Okay, do you have a tip for the access tuner? I hate that thing and I'm all the way at the end but can't finish the game because of the damned access tuner part after Marlow tries to blow up his ship. I just can not get 6 shapes in 10 seconds, with a keyboard or a controller. I can't do it.

@Spencer Elayer currently going through it on hard, and i can tell you one thing: I'm very acquainted with lockers, tables and beds lolol
The robots are so annoying. I was in a closed off room with one entrance and one of them got me from behind somehow...
just bought the game for ipad. im gonna need all the tips i can get. wish me luck!
you did not explain how to pull up the menu to craft those items.
Hold down B on the box or the circle button on the station...
thanks. about to play notthedemo for the first time.
I was spotted and killed by the alien because it heard me fart
Hold RB to hold farts in.
Thanks bro didn't know about the assigning items to craft things
No prob! You can't get those items back of course, but if you use it well you can nearly double the components without crafting... It seems they give you a LOT of stuff in the game, so this helps to get more of it!
Also, you do come back through lots of areas in the game (main tram stations) so it doesn't matter too much in those places if you leave some of the items...
Thanks for this, helped a lot!
Why this game plays better on ps4 than on ps5?
This game is a constant anxiety attack lol if it's not aliens trying to kill you it's some asshole with a gun nowhere safe!!!!
You have to hold your breath in the locker
This guy obviously isn't that skilled at this game. There's a bunch of ways around humans and Working Joes and even the Alien.
i just got the deluxe edition of this for 8 bucks if i don’t finish it i’m gonna off myself
