  • We take a walk through Ketchikan, Alaska visiting Creek St. and the City Park. We see 1000's of salmon in Ketchikan Cr. We also go to the Southwest Alaska Discovery Center.
This was recorded in September 2021.
Ketchikan is the state's southeasternmost major settlement. Downtown Ketchikan is a National Historic District. Incorporated on August 25, 1900. Ketchikan is located on Revillagigedo Island, so named in 1793 by Captain George Vancouver.
Ketchikan is named after Ketchikan Creek, which flows through the town, emptying into the Tongass Narrows a short distance southeast of its downtown. "Ketchikan" comes from the Tlingit name for the creek, Kitschk-hin, the meaning of which is unclear. It may mean "the river belonging to Kitschk"; other accounts claim it means "Thundering Wings of an Eagle". In modern Tlingit this name is rendered as Kichx̱áan.

I am returning to Alaska this summer and have been researching activities. This is the best video for getting around Ketchikan that I have seen. Thank you!

Love the video! Going on the Radiance of the Seas in Sept and was debating on the trolley tour, but thanks to your video, think we can just walk all around on our own and just pay for the lumberjack show! Thanks!

The Lumberjack show is cheaper if you pay at the door, but it may be sold out. But Ketchikan is easy to walk around . Thank you for your comments and thank you for subscribing to our channel.

Hi, we are going on Euordam in September! The salmon was good. Not sure if it was worth the price, and we just carried it home in our luggage. Thank you for your comments and thank you for subscribing to our channel.

You don't have to stop and show every 20 feet where you have come from. Its stupid and waste of time
