      @@mattc17 you were right!!! This contacts are AMAZING! It literally feels like NOTHING. Well, to be fair, at the end of the day after couple wine it bothered me a bit. But all contacts are the same. I couldn’t stand most of the contacts. This is the best I have ever tried - other than Precision 1. Plus, the UV block & EHVL blocker. Not sure why there were so many negative reviews for it. Maybe competitors. Lol. I’m bout to stock for the whole year.

    So far, I’ve tried these lenses for a week now, and I totally forget that they are on. When I used the 2 week Acuvue Oasys Hydroclear lenses, I always had to take them out when I came back from work, because my eyes would start feeling dry. Now, using the Alcon TOTAL 30 month lenses, I totally forget they are on after wearing them all day.

    I'm in a trial pair of Total30 - so far so good early on! But of course I need to try it out for the full 30 days. Extremely comfortable - and the DT1 and Precision 1 were also good for me too but I lean towards the monthly lenses for now.
    I'm so glad the Total30 launched - the first new monthly lens in a long time. It almost felt as if there weren't going to be any new monthly lens development and launches because all new development seems to be going to daily disposable lenses.

      Did you end up sticking with the Total 30s? I just got a trial pair and I am only on the second day, but so far they feel really good. I see a lot of mixed opinions on these though. If they do indeed still feel great on day 30 I could save hundreds of dollars a year compared to the dailies I was using.

    I was prescribed these.. hated them. Went through 4 pairs in like 2 months because they kept ripping.. I wasn’t rough with them or anything! My doctor switched me to acuvue oasys bi weekly lenses. They are definitely sooo much better and have yet to rip on me

    I was in the final round of choosing Total 30 as a Monthly choice, they are pretty comfortable, but for sports if you squint they lose focus, and this is bad for performance accuracy .
    The Air optix below ,didnt do that, even though less comfortable. Also the Total 30, likes to get a wave of water under the lens at times. takes a couple blinks to clear, but if you squint it can take 5 seconds to clear.
    Also after riding my motorcycle, the Total 30 my eyes felt gritty, which not had that issue on the motorcycle with the other 2 contact types , where Air optix or precision 1 ,didnt have that issue, which I ran those for a couple weeks, and still using them
    Im back testing Air optix tomorrow, to verify the squint issue. Air Optix has offered the best overall all clarity under various conditions , but the least comfort . after a few hours, Im like I need to get the out of my eyes.
    intend to also try (baush and lam ultra) soon.
    IMO general life styles, the total 30 would work fine
    Whats my gripe with presicion 1? when the monthlys work right, they offer a tinge more clarity overall. Might just be better grade material on the monthlys, as they do have to last longer.

      Everything you mentioned is exactly how I feel. I'm still contemplating on which contacts I want because even though total30 feel soo comfy they dry up fast and once it's drys up it doesn't always re-fucus so im force to remove them... I will say that they did last the whole month.

    I just got these three days ago. First time wearing contacts. They are not unconfortable at all. Yesterday I went to the beach and played beach tennis and never had any bother with me eyes (no o didnt go into the water with the lenses). I can see great from afar (which is where my vision struggles the most) but i noticed that now i might see a bit blurry from up close.

    Between Air optix with hydrogluide, and total 30 . For me comfort wise, no comparison, Air optix put pressure on my eyes, after a couple hours, all Im thinking is, I need to get the lenses out. Total 30 is closer to precision 1 , not quite as comfy though.
    If you ask me, precision 1 should have the feel like nothing quote, but total 30 is close.
    Ive found all alcon lenses its better to soak in the optifree moist , for 24 hours before use. The oem lube causes lack of clarity, straight out of the pack, or not as good as a 24 hours soaking with optifree.
    I really like to find out how comfortable total 30 is against Balshom Lam Ultra

      @Kenster-man ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds good --- yeah Precision 1 is a daily lens with similar material/technology as Total30 but of course Total30 has an extra layer of technology so it can be cleaned/stored/disinfected for multi-use (30 days). Other than that - yup they seem to be quite close with Precision 1 getting that fresh lens feeling everyday - something monthly lenses can't quite compete with.

    I have been using the Biofinity lenses for a year, my vision is great, but they start feeling dry after about 4 hrs. I use Refresh drops, and they get me to the end of the day. I am getting older, and “dry eye” has been creeping up on me. My doc gave me a trial pair of the Total 30, and, at first, I cannot even tell anything is in my eye for ~2 hrs. Then I notice my vision blurs, eyes feel dry, and I have to blink several times before the blur clears. I used the Refresh drops once, and they made it worse, to the point that I had to remove them. Going back in a week to see what is going on. I would prefer that the doc put me back my Acuvue Oasis Hydroclear or the B&L Ultras. Like I said, I am gettin older. When I started wearing contacts “hard lens” was it, then the “gas permeable,” then switched to Baush & Lombs “Soft Lens” when they came on the market ~~1973, the ones where you had to mix little tablets with Distilled water, put the lenses in your case with that solution, and then put distilled water in the “sterilization pot,” and it sort of boiled them overnight. A dedicated routine EVERY night. In 1973 a pair of SoftLens cost about $375, and you wore those for a year. Boy oh boy, contacts have come a long way!! I think they are the only things I can think of that got better over the years, and the cost went down instead of up. Be nice if everything else followed!!😊

    Coming from Bausch and Lomb ultras, which feel like wearing a fleece blanket on my eyeballs, I tried the Total 1 this weekend and am already looking at the Total 30. If they are anything like the Total 1, it’s a no brainer

    Good video, thanks. Would these be good for occasional wear? I currently use Daily Total 1 Multifocal for occasional use for activities like bicycling, kayaking and hiking, a few hours a day, perhaps 4 times a week. Would a 30 day lens be more suitable?

    • @EyeSchoolwithDrD

      They don't come in the multifocal just yet, but once they do I would think they'll be a great option.

  • @brianricoh3242
    @brianricoh3242 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Welp Total 30's lasted not quite a week, probably 3 or 4 times used.
    Just got to where they have no rigidity with form, became weaker than a Precision 1 new out of the tab. So they are a no deal.
    storage and cleaning optifree moist.
    IMO, with sport use the total 30 with water grade , might be more susceptible to dust entry, Air optix and precision 1 seem to have less issue.
    I noticed total 30 comes off the eye easier on removal time, verses the other 2, but a true 30 day lens, im leaning more towards the air optix having that capability, from what im experiencing.

    • @Kenster-man
      @Kenster-man 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes though the Alcon DT1 were very comfortable and moist they were tricky to remove because of the slippery surface - that’s why for dailes/1-day contacts I prefer the Acuvue Oasys with Hydraluxe - very comfortable but found them easier to remove.
      Very interested in trying these new monthly contacts - new tech/innovation seemed to have stalled with monthly contacts for many years. So far I’ve been pretty good with the B&L Ultra and Coopervision Biofinity but the Biofinity seems to dry out quicker as I use them.

    I have a prescription for precision 1's dailys and I received a trial pair of 30 day (air optix), and i substantially knew these were in my eyes, and my eyes felt heavy , and noticed a tinge of resistance with eye lids.
    Id really like to find a 30 day pair though, but Air optix , Im going to have to write off the list. Total 30's are totally different than air optix for my issues ?

    • @brianricoh3242
      @brianricoh3242 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The biggest issue I found with air optix being slighter thicker, is the syrup the manufactuer uses, its sticky. over night clensing with optifree, takes care of that. The clarity these offer is very good.

    • @brianricoh3242
      @brianricoh3242 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im testing Total 30's right now, THey need an over night soak of optifree, cause they seem to have waves of poor clarity, like water getting under your lenses.
      If that doesnt fix them, I will thumbs down these.

    • @brianricoh3242
      @brianricoh3242 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So far precision one for pure comfort and Air optix with hydro, for pure distance clarity. I think the better clarity, is from the stiffer structure of the Air optix, they are also easier to remove from the eyes.

    • @Scanner-sl8vf
      @Scanner-sl8vf 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      One thing I notice, the oem fluid from Alcon does not provide best function. If you soak the lense in optifree for 24 hours, clarity and function improves alot, for all the lenses.
      I mentioned above about total 30 first day varying clarity issues (which I did a quick flush and rubb with optifree before install) , issues totally seem to be gone after optifree with moisture 24 to 48 hour soaking.
