????? like federer 2017 is more new school. and gasquet has far more topspin. the thiem one is so flat it is very old school. and there is nothing in common between his and domi. i don't understand your comment aha
@cpt-r.federer5940 by modern BH, he is probably talking more about the ability to respond to high balls, open stance BH, and hit on the run. These are things that old-school BH players were not able to do consistently back in time.
Beautiful and painful to watch. It would have been so fun to watch him play against Sinner and Alcaraz and perhaps threaten to win a few more Grand Slams. His level was right there, even above his contemporaries.
I remember how great he was in late 2019... dominated both in the China Open and the Vienna Open. And of course, got to the ATP Finals' final. Played some amazingly powerful tennis
What was incredible with Them is his inside out backhand, the amount of power and sidespin combined he had is something unseen with a one hander. Not even Gasquet could pull that one off with consistence.
i am not afraide to say it ! domi at his prime has top 3 best backhand all time ! and Top 2 best backhand down the line with djokovic ! that shit was like some drug to me ! i could watch thiem ripping backhand down the line like everyday

Stan and Domi are the pioneers of the modern one-handed backhand.
ALL DAY LONG BROTHER!👊🤘💯

In what way exactly? Because Stefan Edberg could do all this 40 years ago.
@@cpt-r.federer5940 thiem's backhand can be flat when it wants to, but if you look at how he plays on clay, he adds much more topspin

Gasquet never had that power in his backhand. Only Stan can stand that one
@@D1oBrando Gasquet has hit at least 5 backhands over 100mph that I know of. I don't know of single time Stan reached 100mph on his backhand

if federer had thiem backhand, easily 30 slams
@@TheTdg97If Federer only discovered his neo backhand a few years back, no one could've stopped him, not even Nadal on clay.
The way he could hit the ball was so satisfying. He didn't half crack his forehand either.
Unfortunately when Thiem lost his butt, he also lost his power and ability to win matches.
lost is spin on forehand and serve that was the end
