I've been a strong introvert for most of my life, including all the way through high school. I just started college and I'm now noticing that I'm actively looking for social interaction but still enjoy having lots of time to myself. I'm not exactly sure what triggered this change but I think this video describes me fairly well now.
I think it's funny because being an ambivert sounds great because you'll be happy no matter who you're with but it kinda sucks sometimes because when you're with people, you can't wait until you can be alone, but when you're alone, you can't wait until you can be with people. As an ambivert, I find it hard to stay around a lot of people with a lot of energy for a long time. When I'm with my friends for a few hours or even most of the day, I'll be loud, energetic, and fun. But after a while, they'll notice that I'll start to talk less, be a bit more tired and a little less fun to be around. But give me a few hours to recharge and be alone, and then I won't be able to wait to be with people. It's similar when I'm alone for too long. I can be alone and be happy by myself for most of the day, but I get to a point where I feel tired and lonely. I'll start trying to find someone to spend time with or something to do. I have actually gone places just so I can have social interactions. I look forward to events that I spend time with friends way in the future. That's how being an ambivert works with me.

Omg finally something I can relate to! The point I relate to the most is the fact that I am VERY shy with new people, but with my friends I can be more extroverted. Thank you for another helpful psychology video Psych2Go!! :D
Always been an introvert. I like being alone and often need to but other times it is the other way around and a lot of my friends nowadays think I am very extroverted when I’m really not, I have just attached myself to other people. For years I hated meeting people and speaking to strangers so I had a limited friend group. Oddly enough now I feel I can start a conversation with practically anybody. Great video
The last 3 signs really hit home for me sometimes, but naturally, I still see myself as more introverted. It takes a lot out of me to commit to someone, especially if their energy is different from mine or if I don't feel comfortable enough around said person. It really just depends on who the person is.
I can relate to almost all of those things. like feeling drained with some people being shy with a new environment and such. I'm mostly an extrovert but as a homeschooler, I don't do all of my work hanging with friends, I do all of my work by myself listening to music. I don't like teaching certain things to people who are less mature then myself, and sometimes I'm really really immature especially with my friends and sometimes my parents when having a fun time. but then there is the smart side of me, who is (not to brag) really smart and allot more mature then the other side. my parents and friends always tell me to use the smarter side of me more often, but I don't really like being mature -haha. I'd rather laugh with my friends and hang out and make weird jokes and stuff. I just thought I'd share my story.
I am originally an introvert however, due to ever changing times, like stepping up the career ladder, moving into a new home and a lot more, I acquired some extrovert skills in able to flow and go smoothly in life. Yes it is quite hard at first but through time, it became easier. Eventually I realized I became an ambivert and the video definitely describes me a lot. One difference though, I'm not totally shy around meeting new people, as my job does require me to communicate and assist "new" people at our workplace. It's quite tiresome at first but I got the hang of it and even applied it on meeting new friends, and even on dating.
9.99 Million subs! One more to go! :) Thank you so much for such mental health content which is very useful for many people out there! Love from India❤️🇳🇪
I think I’m a bit of an omnivert where I can be in either of the extremes. I recharge by being alone and do like to be with 1-4 people but can be quite loud and am very social at times. Definitely more on the introverted side but have some extroverted traits.
there are actually 4 different types of introverts: anxious/shy introverts, social introverts, restrained introverts, and thinking introverts. Perhaps you are a social introvert as they can be sociable to people but also recharge by being alone (for the most part because even the most introverted people are a little extroverted and vice-versa.)
this is exactly me! i could relate with each and every signs to the fullest. lately i had been thinking about this a lot, if i'm introvert or extrovert? cause i can see both characteristics in me. thanks for the video. now i know what to address myself as, an intoverted extrovert!
THANK GOD you made this video! I've been really confused about whether I'm an extrovert or and introvert since I'm a really energetic person and I have a decent amount of friends. But something I'm confused about is that I hate large crowds and I get anxiety attacks from large groups of people. I can't manage more than three people yet I love to make new friends. I liked to be alone but not lonely and everyone one thought I was an extrovert. I started believeing I was until I saw this. THANK you!!
Problem of catching the energy is that I start to feel like I don’t know which is the real me and which is the me I like the most but maybe all of these are just one me and not a fake site of mine and my favorite me is the one who loves to be alone
@@Agnethatheredhairkid I’ll rephrase it, MOST regular introverts still get lonely, but a few are extreme and would be fine with absolutely 0 social interaction. But the majority of introverts are not misanthropic, they just get overwhelmed and uncomfortable more easily and need a lot of time to relax and recharge.
This is me: 1. Yes 2. Not really but kind of 3. Yes 4. Sorta 5. Haven't paid enough attention to get an answer 6. Yes I think I'm an introverted Extrovert
I consider myself an introvert, but have some extrovert qualities (such as that I can have a convo with anyone). Many times it is my environment that decides which way I would tip the scale more. I have been considered “quiet” in situations when I am not comfortable (such as a back work environment) or around draining people. I also don’t divulge too much of my personal life story; I am the listening ear. So I am a little bit of column A and a little bit of column B.
Same here I think. It really depends on if I feel comfortable around that group or that person or not. If I feel comfortable I can be really talkative or just listen to whatever the other person wants to tell me. If I'm not comfortable I'm hardly able to have a conversation and I'm really quiet to the point that I'm not saying a word or just *one* word if asked anything.
@@Psych2go I accidentally found Psych2Go and I got hooked when I saw more contents about Personality Types. My favorite so far is the "Dark Empath" one. Please upload more.
I feel all of these. I help my friends by giving them hugs, one girl runs to give me a hug every time she sees me and i love it so much, i love hugging people
I am the opposite. I am an extroverted introvert. I love and feel content being alone but I am also very friendly, make new connections easily and get along well with people. However no matter how friendly of an encounter I go through, I'll need to change my batteries after it ends.
This video is pretty well me. I love meeting and getting to know new friends, cracking jokes and puns, and helping anyone out that I can, and especially always liked shy people, but I can also be a pretty reserved person. I'm great with having a few friends over, but when there's a lot going on that doesn't involve me, I love having the ability to just retire into my own space and do my own thing rather than being pushed into it.
Thank you for this video, for the longest time i was trying to grasp what kind of person i am, and this video almost PERFECTLY described me. Thanks, and congrats on 10 million btw.
I didn't realize how I much I miss socializing after a pandemic 😅 but now I'm ready to be introverted again. There's only so much new people I can vibe with.
I'm actually great with people but I'm insecure and end up thinking I'm not. Just with time I realize it wasn't bad. I enjoy being with people, just not new people and definitely not a lot of them or for a long time because I like privacy to do my stuff and relax. I like to go out a lot but just when I got the energy to do it, like not when I'm feeling bad, but if I have to, I just keep it normal and try not to show that I'm not okay. I think introverted extrovert fits for me but the insecurity sometimes makes me look like an introvert, and especially when I'm with new people for a long time. I may even end up looking socially awkward just because of how tired I am. Is anyone else like this?
@@Psych2go pretty much the same, especially bc at the moment we're living at grandmother's house and she's a pain to say the least, and having 4 siblings and being the eldest takes a toll on me. Parents are great, but I kind of avoid most adults when possible... Just hoping our house will be built soon and we can move out of here. School's also hard. Not the learning it's self, and most of the teachers are fine, I even like some of them, it's just homework. I'm just constantly tired and don't have energy or brains to get anything done, nor the right workspace for it. Suppressing emotions out of reflex, pretending to be someone else who's happy and carefree, never really talking to anyone about anything in fear of getting rejected, called a liar or ignored, it all gets tiring. I also worry about my bf bc his mum isn't always too nice about things with him, especially school. I worry too much about others and forget to worry about myself 😅 Sorry it's so long, I don't usually get to talk to anyone about these things! Hope I haven't put a damper on anyone's day with this...
This helped me so much because I thought I was an extrovert at first but later I became a introvert with new people and friends I didn't hang out with much so I was confused and worried sense I didn't know about this and I think I'm either this or an extroverted introvert so thank you so much
I relate to all of this signs a lot! I have always thought I was introvert bcoz of my love for being alone and get energy through it but also I'm really good with my friend groups, classmates and also I can talk to new people like total individual stranger easily but when it's a group of new people's I might get extremely shy until I'm comfortable. Just like the video says I guess I'm an "introverted extrovert"!
I feel this definition fits me much better than "ambivert" does. I'm not ambivalent, I'm mixed. I am a natural introvert, though after my car accident, when I realized how many thousands of people actually know and like me enough to want my recovery sincerely, I forced myself to be more extroverted and realized how much I LIKE people. In small doses. Sometimes not so small. Sometimes I just need to pull into my shell for a week or two.
2:02 that one is the main one that describes me. 3:20 individuals or experiences. I feel recharged by certain social gatherings, but not others. Like, hanging out with friends is fantastic, but being in a large party isnt.
I counted how many I could relate to and it was 5 out of 6 the only one i couldn't really relate to was the 2nd one mainly because I'm more apathetic than I am empathetic 😅
@@Psych2go uhhhh does being at event of some kind with your friends but they left you alone and your imagination taking control and started making you think negatively about yourself count
The older I get the more I realise that I'm not really introverted, but rather extremely shy and insecure. When I'm with friends I tend to be either calm and relaxed or energetic and loud, and sometimes even obnoxious... It really depends on the mood or company. However, I'm deadly scared of strangers and will never approach one if I can help it. Online feels different though, it's easier. But once I get past being strangers I become way to open and comfortable, usually way too fast aswell... Most points in this video are highly relatable to me, and I'm glad i watched it
I recently figured out that I'm extroverted and that I don't have enough confidence to execute that side of myself. This gives me a more positive outlook of things and perfectly describes my state of being, thank you very much! ^^~
I so relate to all this sign and all of them describe me a 100% 😅. The one that kinda shock me it’s when you say that we don’t really like to reveal a lot about ourselves, FACTS!!because I only reveal to others what they can handle and what they need to know. Thanks for this video @psych2go 🙏🏾
Ambivert,I'm only an extrovert with people I have a bond with(to a certain extent)....The rest of the time I never leave the house and the neighborhood thinks I'm not home😅😅😅
This is the first video where every box checks on my list. I know I'm kinda introverted like my brother, but i like talking to people as well just like some extrovert stereotype. The one that clicked my the most was the first one and the one where people drain me or recharge me depending who I'm with. Apparently, for me, positive and cheerful people recharges me depending on how cheerful and positive they are, and negative people often drains me especially the lazy ones since I feel obliged to do their part of work.
I was extremely introverted as a child, then I worked retail and became an extrovert, then I developed chronic illness and became an Ambivert 😅 I've become a lot more introverted again since Covid, as I don't leave the house much anymore because I'm immunosupressed, but I'm hoping to become more social and get out more in the new year 🥰
I definitley feel like an ambivert as a different term for this. It's often not discussed as much as intro or extro. Think you guys can do more videos on this subject?
That’s describes so well… I don’t shut up when I’m with friends but when I’m with new people or strangers I’m totally shy, I feel awkward… like outsider. But I love being with people my favorite activities to go out with friends and have been a group and part of community talk talk and talk in our every time that I say to someone that I’m shy they don’t believe me because I look so social… I also love spending time alone 🥰 I need it every single day
This one resonates with me. Especially the vulnerable part. Lord knows i can go from cloud 9 to 6 feet under from a single unfortunate incident. Like i was at a pub in london, my first time at a pub, it's the middle of vacation and literally all the pubs are completely stuffed, my head hurts from the noise and i am mentally and physically drained from long days of tourist activities. Our waiter was off at the bar and i wanted a glass of water, so i snapped to get his attention, since i am more reserved with people i don't know, and i hate shouting and being loud. I didn't know that snapping was an insult. There was never any ill intent. The waiter told someone else at my table and they explained it to me. And i was already completely drained, only to get the mental shock that i had treated him like a servant/slave by snapping my fingers. I cried when i got back to the hotel room, and god knows i am never going to a normal pub again. There was another similar incident of me being tired and getting a mental shock. Point was, it made me realise how easy it is for a couple words to ruin my day.
I'm a damaged extrovert, I discussed with my therapist. I have lived through such constant frustration, stress, and being alone in my frame of thinking, that I was molded into a to-themself person. And that's..... a blessing in disguise. Less hurt this way. People get mad at you over everything and react in kind. And when I grew up? Most of the reactions were kinetic.
I now like people like I like animals. Afraid of them. But are clever and unique in their own right. So as such, I can say that I love humans. I just fear most.
#6 is exactly me. I moved and started at a new school in April and I’m just now starting to feel comfortable. I have some friends and won’t stop talking to them when we can but during class I’m silent.
I'm all of this except for 2 and 3. People don't come to me when they have problems. They see me as a problem because when I get hyperactive, I tend to ruined things, become annoying by talking to much and it makes me less reliable to them. And I'm also not ok being alone because I wanna hangout with alot of people but it's due to how I was raised in a confined space with few people around that makes me feel lonely. My neighbours are mostly adults so there's not many people similar to my age. Combined with my loud presence and clumsy attitude, alot of my school friends just seem to left me whenever class or school ended. I was always the person who walks behind others whenever I'm in a group. I was once more of an Extrovert but lately I'm becoming more Introverted due to my anxiety of ruining things and making others feel annoyed by me.
Overtime I'll get comfortable talking to someone or a group and get used to it. Though the social anxiety is there when I first meet a group. Especially if I'm the only person there, which is why having someone there as intermediary for both groups or acquaintances is nice. It helps break the barriers and help one group understand another. Which is why I'll invite an old friend and new friend to something to make things easier.
Though that's to have an easier time having a conversation. Especially because I may have no idea what the other person enjoys. Which is why I like talking in groups of three. If I'm in a large group of more than 3 it gets harder to have a conversation, because the larger the group is more likely to have more people that I'm not used to.
3 and 6 are strong for me. I think they all apply, but particularly, I think I lean closer to introvert. Many personality tests mark me as....turbulent? Not sure what that means.
I think I can relate with the 6th sign, I change the way I act depending on my environment. Whenever I'm alone which I am most of the time, I process my thoughts and emotion and enjoy being alone. And whenever I'm with my group of friends, I become more talkative and expressive than when I'm alone.
Introvert, extrovert or ambivert? Which one are you?

Yep , that's me. I also know the upside of downsizing and the downside of upgrading.

I really like india as a american :
I finally found it! This is how I feel and I'm glad there's something to call it! Thanks for making this vid!
Me tooo
You mean, there are ambivert ? Both on in and ex but still goes with the vibe you feel in yourself
Oh yeah I'm an ambivert or should I say it in your words(introverted Extrovert) I like that tho
The voice of the Narrator is so Incredibly Soothing 😢. I want a Personal AI assistant that i can talk to with that voice 🥲.
I think I’m a bit of an omnivert where I can be in either of the extremes. I recharge by being alone and do like to be with 1-4 people but can be quite loud and am very social at times. Definitely more on the introverted side but have some extroverted traits.
Yes, sounds like you're more on the introverted side. Do you prefer public space or hidden from others?
@@Psych2go definitely away from others
i would rather say your Atleast way better than my annoying room mate
there are actually 4 different types of introverts: anxious/shy introverts, social introverts, restrained introverts, and thinking introverts.
I took the quiz, I'm a introvert!
THANK you!!
i love this channel! the information is always thorough, yet not too overwhelming! you will reach 10 million in no time!
Agreed
Problem of catching the energy is that I start to feel like I don’t know which is the real me and which is the me I like the most but maybe all of these are just one me and not a fake site of mine and my favorite me is the one who loves to be alone
Even regular introverts still get lonely, not just the extroverted introverts.
I love your profile pic! 🤣
@@kenrickbautista6141 Thank you 😂
@@imanabdullahi3298 you're welcome.
@ Iman Abdullah: I never get lonely, Iman, as I am not a people person and never have been. I am asocial and somewhat misanthropic.
This is me:
1. Yes
2. Not really but kind of

6. Yes
I think I'm an introverted Extrovert
Welp turns out i’m an ambivert, i check out every box
This notification just make me happy 😭😭😭💕💕💕
It’s so nice to chat with other ambiverts! I haven’t met a lot of other ambiverts in real life, so it’s great to know that I’m not the only one
Almost 10 million subs❗
Been here since 3m.
Am so proud to be part of this journey.
Wow that is amazing!! What do you love most about Psych2go?
The concise and palatable manner in which you present psychology always makes me smile! Keep up the good work! 😬
P.S: All six boxes are ticked. 🥺
Yes, got to find your balance haha.
I used to be an introverted extrovert, but because of my depression I believe I became a pure introvert. It’s a bit sad honestly.
U have helped so much with my depression ❤
Glad to hear! We will always be here. Are there any topics you would like to see next?
Being with friends and being alone are both just as tiring.
I’m sorry to hear that - what about being around your family and loved ones?
I worry too much about others and forget to worry about myself 😅
Sorry it's so long, I don't usually get to talk to anyone about these things! Hope I haven't put a damper on anyone's day with this...
Who’s watching this that just found out that they’re an ambivert?
I retake the mbti test every month and every time i always get and introverted personality :D
Yoooo, this channel is about to go over 10 million! Crazyyy. I’m going to be and hope when I wake up it’s there.
Almost at 10mil! Also I love the new art style 😊
This helped me so much because I thought I was an extrovert at first but later I became a introvert with new people and friends I didn't hang out with much so I was confused and worried sense I didn't know about this and I think I'm either this or an extroverted introvert so thank you so much
Your so
Close to 10Mil anyway congrats 🎊
Yes we are!! Thank you for being apart of the community
@@Psych2go thanks 😊
I relate to all of this signs a lot! I have always thought I was introvert bcoz of my love for being alone and get energy through it but also I'm really good with my friend groups, classmates and also I can talk to new people like total individual stranger easily but when it's a group of new people's I might get extremely shy until I'm comfortable. Just like the video says I guess I'm an "introverted extrovert"!
Y'know,i somtimes wonder if im an ambivert intro or an extro, and i honestly don't care that much
As long as im happy,i will do anythjng to make myself happier
I feel this definition fits me much better than "ambivert" does. I'm not ambivalent, I'm mixed. I am a natural introvert, though after my car accident, when I realized how many thousands of people actually know and like me enough to want my recovery sincerely, I forced myself to be more extroverted and realized how much I LIKE people. In small doses. Sometimes not so small. Sometimes I just need to pull into my shell for a week or two.
I feel the same
50 shades of grey right there
2:02 that one is the main one that describes me.
3:20 individuals or experiences. I feel recharged by certain social gatherings, but not others. Like, hanging out with friends is fantastic, but being in a large party isnt.
I like people but Im scared of making new friends. 😅
Me too. I do think the base of a good friendship is Trust .
What do you think?
Almost 10Million!! Yooo you deserve it soo much
Im an enneagram 7 but i still like to be alone sometimes. I would say im 25% introvert and 75% extrovert 😛
I'm a social introvert AKA the extroverted introvert. I'm also an INFJ. I don't know why I came to watch this lol.
Maybe you were curious? Did you learn anything from this video?
@@Psych2go ,only that I'm definitely an introvert.
I counted how many I could relate to and it was 5 out of 6 the only one i couldn't really relate to was the 2nd one mainly because I'm more apathetic than I am empathetic 😅
That’s good to hear! What other signs can you think of?
@@Psych2go uhhhh does being at event of some kind with your friends but they left you alone and your imagination taking control and started making you think negatively about yourself count
Embrace being an Introvert Extrovert !
Yes I am, I always knew this
The older I get the more I realise that I'm not really introverted, but rather extremely shy and insecure.
Most points in this video are highly relatable to me, and I'm glad i watched it
Lol i was just taking a quiz on thus topic and got introvert!
I recently figured out that I'm extroverted and that I don't have enough confidence to execute that side of myself. This gives me a more positive outlook of things and perfectly describes my state of being, thank you very much! ^^~
I think i am an introverted extrovert
What signs did you relate to?
@@Psych2go I related to 1, 3, 4, and 6
I so relate to all this sign and all of them describe me a 100% 😅. The one that kinda shock me it’s when you say that we don’t really like to reveal a lot about ourselves, FACTS!!because I only reveal to others what they can handle and what they need to know. Thanks for this video @psych2go 🙏🏾
Yaaaay a video about ambi
Ambivert,I'm only an extrovert with people I have a bond with(to a certain extent)....The rest of the time I never leave the house and the neighborhood thinks I'm not home😅😅😅
First
Congrats!
@@AlyxTheProtogen thanks
well, i guess i couldn't quite know if i relate to some of the signs but i do to most of them! Thank you for the informative video!^^
I was extremely introverted as a child, then I worked retail and became an extrovert, then I developed chronic illness and became an Ambivert 😅
I've become a lot more introverted again since Covid, as I don't leave the house much anymore because I'm immunosupressed, but I'm hoping to become more social and get out more in the new year 🥰
I definitley feel like an ambivert as a different term for this. It's often not discussed as much as intro or extro. Think you guys can do more videos on this subject?
I’d like that too
That’s describes so well… I don’t shut up when I’m with friends but when I’m with new people or strangers I’m totally shy, I feel awkward… like outsider.
I KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS A LOT LIKE THIS, BUT ONE OFXTHE SWEETEST, GOOD HEARTED PEOPLE I KNOW OR HAVE KNOWN.
That’s great! What other signs do they show?
Number one: you're great with people
Me: stop watching the rest
Fun fact: extraversion is distributed along a bell curve, meaning that most people fall near the middle between Extroverted and Introverted
Perhaps I am both an extrovert and an introvert.
May be it depends on situations and people around me.
i struggle finding comparisons of myself with these videos, but not this video
Yes, i need this vid cuz ive always been confused abt if im an introvert, extrovert , ambivert or omnivert 😂
I have all these traits, so I'm glad to know! I really like your videos, cause they help me understand myself more!
Never knew I was an introverted extrovert I only thought I was introverted thanks for this now I understand myself a bit more
3 and 6 are strong for me.
I used to think I’m only an extrovert but I have liked being an introverted extrovert for all these years
I'm an Introvert extrovert. Im very outgoing, and I have a lot of friends, but sometimes I get overwhelmed and I take time to myself.
oh my gosh finally! been waiting for YEARS
