I hope they pull back on it.
I think it's widely regarded as a good thing and was key for getting a good turn count on the Refraction Railway, even with a lot of turn 1/2 resets.

@@Smis1337 Yeah, I think that'd be an agreeable middle ground.
Having no control whatsoever over the skills you're getting is irrelevant at best (regular story doesn't really need it), or terribly frustrating at worst (Refraction Railway right now, possibly future RR or the "Hard Mirror Dungeon").
They've been on a good track with the combat updates, though, so I'll remain positive.

@@eugh2541 I get what you mean, but there's a huge disparity in Skill 1's between identities in my opinion. N Corp. Faust Skill 1 could easily be a skill 2 on other identities, you know what I mean?
That's why I think Smis' idea of having to pay resources or Sanity for it would actually be fair.

Considering the recent buffs to the sanity-based chance of flipping heads, yes, it's quite good - especially in solo challenges like this where it's basically a free +20% damage.

I was able to get sub 120 without the discard mechanic. It wasn't easy, and the score wasn't amazing, but it was challenging, which is the point of the mode. I don't really like having exploits that just remove difficulty from games become standardized.
