Al Cisneros is so technical and emotional at the same time. He doesn't have to look at what he's playing because the instrument is an extension of himself. It must be a rush to play like that, i'm sure he travels to another place.

@@regntonnefor me, all of Om's stuff for the more spiritual trip, but also loved Sleep Dopesmoker (I preferred Jerusalem), Funkadelic Free Your Mind, Maggot Brain, America Eats it's Young, Cosmic Slop, or pretty much all Funkadelic, Hendrix - Pali Gap, and a lot of doom metal, from the original Sabbath albums, to Pentagram, to the modern stuff.
Om helped me find my way back to religion. Never was planned, just happened.

I was in such a trance in the first 3 minutes of this that by the time the hi hat came back in, I freaked out and thought something was going on in my house, lol. Being stoned and listening to this with headphones has proven interesting.

Maximum Symbolic ecclecticism
To those who ask what religious theme Om's work is influenced by. Cisneros has said himself that he's interested in making music that communes with the inner-self. There is no other way to do this but through Absolute Metaphysical Truth. Om is not bound by religious themes, they are one and the same. Inner Truth and Perennial wisdom is a speciality in their music, it's just displayed in a humanistic and digestible manner. Also please do not use generic "spirituality" when referring to Om's musical influences, it is very insulting to those that practice real piety through action and not through words, much less is the notion that Tradition and Spirituality have been corrupted and lost to time by men who do not take it seriously.

Alternate Advert Cisneros and the mix have all said that Weed is a part of the stoner/doom genre, but is certainly not limited to it. All states of reality should be respected and not used solely for personal gain.

I believe it’s a Tambura, an Indian classical instrument similar to the sitar. It’s used, just like in this song, to supply an ambient drone for the rest of the Raga to play over, or at least that’s my understanding of it is.
