one thing that I have learned from his interview and one thing he has that others don't have is simplicity. His thought process as well as decision making proses is super simple, no second thought no expectation. Real gem here found after 5 years published lol
This interview is absolutely awesome. This gave me a lot of ideas: 1) do long on 52 week high. 2) do short on 52 week short. 3) believe in your system and dont change it frequently. 4) dont be in hurry to buy a lambo, give it some time
I love your talks This guy is amazing because he is different! I like how you have all of these people with the very different perspectives. From the guys who intuit day trades to the guys who setup a system and run that system. Im pushing your stuff on my friends daily!
been starting to learn about the market, and your podcast is really great. I''ll be back to this comment after a year and hopefully I can have the knowledge and mindset to be profitable by then :)
+Brutus Empire, if you write this question in the comments on the show notes page (chatwithtraders.com/ep-074-john-walsh-black-cabbie-trader/), I can ask John to answer for you.
Enjoyed this episode, it's a shame John's twitter has been removed and his website that he mentioned on the episode is also closed down, hope everything is ok! If anyone knows anything, please reply to me :)
Can't find him either. BlackCabbieTrader.com is gone. Idk maybe he blew up his account. The cabbie to successful trader seemed to me to be a little bit of a stretch goal.
@@walkerpercy8702 Also a London Cabbie is different to a taxi driver anywhere else in the world. The test they have to do, the knowledge, to get their licence takes some drivers 5/6 years to compete. It takes an insane amount of repetitive, consistent hard work and discipline, plus the one to one oral examinations are done under an enormous amount of pressure, so could totally see how someone who has completed the knowledge could make a successful trader. A lot of the required elements to make a success of it would already be instilled in them.
Aaron good afternoon. Please add subtitles to this video. Thanks in advance. P.S. It's all for the same to watch with translation in a foreign language.
@@jamesmcgrath3841 What's your biggest takeaway then? I don't remember anything from the podcast except that he was a cab driver and took part in a competition. I found many other "Chat With Traders" podcasts much more helpful and memorable.
It is, it’s extra affirmations on a successful strategy, make your own valuation models, than in your sector just watch orderflow. It’s not rocket science. Retail traders can make way more than institutional traders.
Love these traders that didn't come up from a trading or financial background and give great insight on how to trade smart and simple. Solid podcast.
One thing I learnt from all these traders chat is that They worked their ass off to get there! There's no shortcuts!

No doubt, as a cab driver, John's info retention must be off the charts (pun fully intended). Great interview John and Aaron.

+JCElzinga, pleased you're enjoying the podcast! And it's awesome that you're telling your friends about it too.

One of my favorite interviews! Thanks.

How's it going
How's it going bro?
So he finds stocks with slow steady upward growth and buys them and holds until they top out? That's it?
John whats your trading plan from the moment you wake up till your first trade??

James Gandolfini..... Mr. Soprano, with an accent.....

@@walkerpercy8702 Doesnt sound like the kinda guy who is going to blow up his account. Sounds very careful.

I glanced at John's picture and thought you said "Black cab driver" and was instantly confused, he looks totally white:)
The taxi-cars are..... black....
@@jamesmcgrath3841 I got that after my initial "that's a weird way to characterize someone" thought.

No need for the subtitles.... if you can understand English.... Yes there is an accent but he speaks slowly and clearly at all times.
SUMMARY: no system! Instead, just natural intuition.
Why ask about taxi driving? Absurd
It helps to show how his mind - thinking processes - works
