- For a change, a themed reel set. I call this the Three Maids set :)
The first one, Maid Behind the Bar, I associate strongly with the late Barney McKenna of the Dubliners whom I happened to catch live in Tampere in 2010, whereas the last tune The Wise Maid I've heard and failed to play along to in sessions often enough to finally learn it properly. What a finger-twister it is.
Played on Pilgrim Celtic Dawn Model 2 tenor banjo. Backing with APC bouzouki, and a bodhran that I've had on loan for a year on condition that I replace the broken tuning machinery which I finally did last week.
Find the chords, dots, and the backing track at my site: irish.muualla.n...
Thrilled to know this ancient instrument is being kept alive
Its not ancient, tenor banjos were invented in the early 1900s
Lovely !
Magical......
Great tunes, great playing, steady nice
Brilliant!!
just what I needed so easy to follow. May GOD BLESS and save you
You are the MASTER
Thank you. 🌟
I remember my mom and dad showing me a way of playing that I had never even seen matched until I seen you play but this has got to be the better accurately played version I have seen or heard so far and I'm 53. Good job and you play beautifully.
And thank you for that.
Thanks for the comment, much appreciated :)
❤❤❤❤❤
Please 😊
So beautiful playing... 🔥🔥 could you please share baking track for practice? it is so helpful that practice my banjo watching your videos. Thanks.
Thanks! I just posted the dots and the backing track at my blog at irish.muualla.net/reel/maid-behind-the-bar-maid-of-mount-kisco-wise-maid/
@@NiiloSirola Brilliant , very helpful 👏 ❤️ Thanks a mill
P.S is there any other tunes
@@miao4885 Thanks! There’s a bunch of tunes on my channel, and the dots to dozen or so on my site. But no I haven’t seen the need to post backing tracks to other sets
i tried this on 6 string guitar !
its awesome how u play it
Nice! I’ve sometimes tried to play some melodies on a guitar as well but somehow I always get tripped by the B string
I would love to hear you play banish misfortune on the Banjo.
Thanks! For me it’s always been a mandolin piece but why not give it a try on banjo one day as well
Hmmm... nearly.
More practice? Cleaner picking?
Right hand is OK but not great.
Thanks! Sure more practice is always more practice. I can spot lots more to improve than that :D
