I have always said that the weight associated with running a BBF (or any gnarly big block) in a racecar doesn't all come from the engine- most of it comes from the weight of parts strong enough not to be destroyed by the torque. A moment of silence for this guy's drivetrain, for it knows not the buttkicking it is about to receive....
I actually went from an Iron Headed Cleveland in my 86 Mustang, to a Aluminum Headed BBF and Lost 105 lbs. Not many times do you go from a Small Block to a Big Block and Lose weight, But at the same time Swapped out the Stock Heavy K Member, Control Arms, Factory Springs, And replaced All that with UPR Chromemoly Tubular components, Along with Coil Over Struts. So I'm assuming most of my weight savings might be coming from the Suspension Stuff, But Those Iron 351 Cleveland Heads are So Heavy, I'm thinking that's were my weight loss mostly came from.
...and THAT is THAT, folks....ya make the power, its gotta be strong enough to not fold up like a beer can.......this is where exotic parts made of titanium and CF come into play and that play is always $$$,$$$ or $,$$$,$$$
Thanks for showing us Big Ford Fans some Love, that Beast is plenty capable of some Big Numbers, especially with Those Twin 98,s, and 598 Cubes I'm Guessing North of 3500 hp ???

As a Ford guy, I love seeing them mix up the constant stream of Chevy stuff. Especially because it always puts the hurt on. Love your stuff, but it bugged me seeing the turbos labled backwards. Convention in the automotive trade is to label left and right as if you're sitting in the driver's seat, so in my mind they're on backwards lol.
Yea I tried to do this in my head too lol. I'd guess ~2hp/ci @ 600 ci would be like 1200hp NA, and 14.7 = 1bar so 44ish is like 3x that HP so up in the mid 3600hp range??? I want to see the IAT on this monster @ 40psi boost on alky.

damn 598ci exploded the dyno ford has a factory 554ci bbf(went in fire trucks dylan mcool has one) and theres a aftermarket 632bbf as well imagine those twin turbo theyd shred the dyno

You know what would be absolutely beautiful on this engine? A pair of mirrored turbos ( check out Nelson Racing Engines here in Chatsworth, CA - sorry for a plug of another high-end, high-HP, engine builder, but mirrored turbos look so bitchen' ). I'm not a Ford guy, but this looks nice. Does this have a flat-plane crank (I'm thinking not).

Hey Steve. Perhaps a sheet of Lexan as a backstop mounted to the Dyno base to shield the Battery Charger from Water sprayed from valves, hoses, or anything else?
Steve, I imagine you able to build billet parts for that Dyno to make it deal with the big hp stuff Is its it just not worth it? PS you almost slipped on that 4500hp lol bad ass piece and I’m not a Ford Guy but how can you not love that!
I use to rebuilt water brakes on drilling rigs . They were similar to these I think.. just a lot bigger . That engine loosing load reminds me of a jet boat that comes out of the water with your foot on the throttle. It seems to be hard on valve train and your pocket lol
It looked like the hose that blew out was closed. You can see the steel ball in the hose valve. Maybe the camera makes it look like that. Thanks Steve for all the awesome videos and knowledge. Can’t wait to see more.

Actually it's pretty nice that Steve dynoed this engine , now the customer knows that he has to run on low -medium boost .

@@pauloakes6952 The battery getting sprayed with water isn't an issue. It's the AC Voltage of the Charger getting wet.
Well if it broke the Dyno we know it's probably up around 3000hp I remember a video that you made your own Dyno to go up to 3tho

Failure there may have been vibration induced - maybe relocating that valve off the bottom to to be inline with the flex line isn't a bad idea.
Brass fitting on that valve broke at the threads. Could be fatigue, or maybe a "less than perfect" valve and it was its time to die ... 🤣
