    Thank you. I'm going in for this procedure in a week. I also have tinnitus and loss of balance. The ringing is constant and my balance feels like I'm walking on Jello. I have had a messed up Eustachian tube and my eardrum popped and bled on my last flight when the plane took off on a very short runway.

    I enjoyed this video so much especially after addressing the nomenclature cofusion, i always thought cholesteatoma means cholesterol deposition 😄. If i may ask, can you do a video about weber's and rinne's test for assessing conductive from sensorineural hearing loss and how to conduct these tests. Asking for such video only if it is feasible, i don't want to cause any inconvenience :)

      Absolutely! Rinne's and Weber's explained in more detail in upcoming videos. I will do an entire video on hearing loss soon! Otosclerosis video next week has details of Rinne's and Weber's in conductive hearing loss.

    I've had it since birth. Had surgery at 8yrs old(89). I'm currently 43.first surgery didnt help,now my other ear is now effected. Hearing is almost none. Needing a doctor that understands the trauma I had at a young age. Reason being why I never,or haven't gone back until now that both ears are draining and hearing lose. Any ideas? Central Florida

      Damn dude, you've got my full support and empathy. I'm still young (currently 18), hearing gone on the left ear and operated three times so far. This disease is horrible, the pain. But hey, gotta man up.

      I'm.from holland and i am 36 years old.. i have it also. But the doctors only knew it from 2017. Now I have in total 6 operations every ear 3 times the last was 3 weeks ago and next year i need a surgery in the other ear to remove the cholesteatoma...I have now a hearing aid at my left ear because the cholesteatoma destroyed my ossicles becauee they had to remove 1.

      @@dannybaars8663 - I'm not from Holland, and 59 yo..other than that. I relate to your 6 surgeries on this. I'm DONE. But still have finding a doctor now that i'm in Arizona.
      It's extremely hard to deal with my vertigo right now and pressure going on in my head. I think it has now caused a new Sinus infection. UGH

    Thank you I have had this problem for years I'm having pain an ringing noise I'm probably going to have to call my doctor but I've been to scared too been waiting 2 years to call them thought I'd find the answer to how bad it could be to wait to long or get it checked sooner

    I just discovered that I have this today in both ears. I had to look it up of course and this was the first video that popped up. I’m not excited about having surgery on both my ears but it is what it is . Also, that facial nerve thing now seems like a weird thing because I noticed a mild version of this. My right brow would just go up on its own. When I heard this i thought wow, that explains it I guess. Very strange. No where near the bad news of cancer but damn this is not great news.

      @@MeekelDubyadid you have foul smelling discharge? When I was little I had tubes and then I got skin polyp in my ear and surgery multiple times. Now I’m nearly dead in my left ear and I constantly battle ear leaking.

    • @PhelpsLife
      @PhelpsLife 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@WildArcheryBoyif you constantly deal with leaking… and it’s foul. You may have a cholesteatoma. You need to seek an ENT specialist, preferably in a larger city that has more expertice/reputation as some of the local ENT’s may not know what you have. I had the same issue about 8 years ago and had to go to Dallas to finally get properly diagnosed. I had surgery to remove the cholesteatoma and also one of my hearing bones was replaced… it really saved my life though. I just had an appointment today after a few years of no check ups and I have 85%-90% hearing in my surgical ear.
