Would love to see SNL have a regular cast member in their 60s. It would open up some new avenues for humor that haven't yet been explored on the show.

The closest they had was Leslie Jones, who was 47 when she started and in her early 50s when she left. There was also Michael McKean, who was 46 when he started (and was one of two cast members who hosted the show before he was hired as a cast member, the other being Billy Crystal).

that is why the sketch went completely over my head. I am too much of a dark humor guy. I think it probably would of got funnier if he just opened up about sleeping with all of their moms.

Brendan Gleeson was just an AMAZING guest. He really embraced the material and put some real effort in to doing it justice. He reminds me of Adam Driver in that way.

Well sure, people that age were forced to be nude around their peers by being made to shower after gym class. They hated it for the first 2 days, then were totally comfortable after that and were guaranteed an entire lifetime of freedom from body image paranoia. Couldn't let later generations have that! Deep-seated lifelong neuroticism and crippling fear and inability to see themselves as anything other than deformed freaks due to zero visceral experience with real human bodies and their variety is a small price to pay to avoid those 2 days of mild discomfort!

it’s awesome how please don’t destroy has been able to make the best snl skits of the last few years while maintaining their own brand
i only know them from snl so maybe i'm missing something, but their "brand" seems to be the exact same as lonely island. their fine and all but it just feels like a rehash coming so close on the heels on the lonely island guys and their snl skits.
@@TDCLOL as far as i know, lonely island sang. They had Andy Sandberg as their lead and he was a cast member the whole time. These guys write absurdity stuff, it’s great, not like the rest of the snl skits, lonely island days were pretty strong snl days in general they were a nice addition, i dont watch snl skits unless its please dont destroy

This is one of the better sketches in recent memory. I hope these boys are among the new cast members. They were magnificent.

I don't. I think they're funnier like this, having the freedom to do what they want. Snl is kind of a dying format, but pre filmed sketch comedy isnt.
They've been on the cast as the new digital wierdos for a while. This is the best sketch they have done though and its barely laughable. I hope they are gone soon.

So, as of the new season (49), the Please Don't Destroy guys aren't officially cast members, but they do have their own credit in the opening, like what they used to do with Robert Smigel's "TV Funhouse" cartoons. Not even Andy Samberg's Lonely Island videos got that treatment, and those were the videos that made The TH-cam generation actually want to watch SNL.
They finally gave them a budget this year 😂

I'm from Italy, this is the first "please don't destroy" video i've ever seen then i became hooked. This is the Andy samberg humor i love, thank you guyssss

And remember, a man in his 60s was able to convince a whole town that he was a teenage boy, so by that logic the Mother may have been having a sexual relationship with someone she legitimately believed was a minor. 🤣
I assumed that he told her that he was 67 and she kept the secret. Don't make it weird. He was just posing as a teenager and cheating on his wife with his 17 year old friend's mom after her husband died.

I have been waiting all summer for the return of Please Don’t Destroy! Hands down my favorite thing SNL had last season.
After watching this. I think we all feel infinite.
Bravo SNL writers. Bravo!!!!! Brendan Gleeson was not only a great SNL host but an incredible actor. Thank you SNL for bringing laughter into our homes. ❤ to you all.

They've been writers since last season. And yes, they are the best writers the show has had since The Lonely Island guys (Akiva Schaffer, Jorma Taccone, and Andy Samberg).
