For this year’s edition of TVS’ ride across Sri Lanka, we were given something a little…. unconventional. A 100cc moped isn’t exactly ideal for a 3 day trip across a nation, but that’s exactly what we did this time. The XL100 was our steed for this arduous 700km journey. What started out as a slow, boring and tedious ride turned into an epic road trip (with its fair share of challenges and difficulties) that completely transformed our opinion of the little moped.

great video.. huge improvement over the last goa ride series... on a side note these two videos can make someone realize that ride is not just about going from point A to B fast..its about taking in the surroundings and also one can understand that u don't need fancy bike to tour.. if this moped can do it then any bike can do it...
It was a joy to watch you ride the TVS and gives us a glimpse of Sri Lanka. Extremely good presentation, fantastic narration and what not! Geography, poetry, adventure tourism all rolled into one!
An excellent review of a real world bike. Takes me back to when I had a moped when I was 16, I would think nothing of riding 150 miles on my 50cc speed machine. Ps, I'm 61 now and would love for more people to enjoy the days f freedom that I had on my nifty fifty. 😀😁😊

Great video with superlative narration and humour. I recently bought the TVS XL-100 Heavy Duty BS6 moped and I can safely say that it's worth it in terms of performance and the joy it gives! Pure fun.

The customer base for the TVS XL has majorly been farmers, delivery boys, etc mostly situated in Tamil Nadu and nearby states. If TVS does have so much faith in mopeds and XL bike as a comfortable cruiser and thereby reach out to a wider customer base, then it really needs to focus on improving the current model as well as explore on the moped platform to develop more powerful and beautiful machines. TVS could probably take inspiration from overseas machines like Honda Super Cub. TVS should also seriously consider the European style scooters, instead of the bland flat board scooters that we have here.

I have a colleague who has been riding the tvs 50 xl for 15 years. He bought it when he first joined work, kept it when he got married and had children.. He still kept it though he was earning six digit figure salary s a month. . To this day he rides it to the office.

You sure the TVS XL comes with a CVT? I've seen the engine opened and haven't spotted anything of the sort, all it sports is a single speed transmission with a centrifugal clutch, that can be swapped out and replaced similar to how Bajaj's assembled clutch sets can be replaced.

Oh come on, last day i did 400 kms with my tvs sports, so 700 kms isn't impossible. Come on, hahaha, you people are out of your mind. Also i didn't have any gears except my helmet.And i did that within 7 hours. Which had 200 kms of one way decent road and another 200 was a gravel road. So......... (my average was 80 and top was 95 kph)

For your information, Sri Lanka is more developed country than India in almost all development parameters. Be it per capita income, HDI or literacy rate. India is, sure developing. But miles to go. Hopes and love from Kerala.

मेने इसकी test ride की है। बहुत ही कम (under powered), power & tourq है। कम से कम 10 का power & tourq की जरूरत है। Hero Splendor+ is better than this XL 100. Don't buy XL 100.
