When I watch ML play in Chinese league games it always looks like he is hiding his cards, trying experimental shots and not really in dragon mode. I have this feeling he is doing preparation work for the international tournaments.
Liang Jingkun was playing very aggressively from the beginning and Ma Long had the burden of the team on his shoulders. One of the aspects which Xu Xin and Ma Long appear to be lacking in is mental strength, when the opponent is playing well and the pressure is high. Of course Wang Hao had a similar problem. 3 time olympic singles finalist and 3 time singles silver medalist. Ma Long hasn't really been pressured all that much this year (against foreigners that is), short of maybe his rio semifinals vs mizutani or his game against tristan flore in the korea open. However, should the 2020 tokyo olympics come down to it, China will surely struggle mentally against a fast improving, confident Japanese team, in home crowd at the team event finals. If Mizutani could pull the win against Ma Long that would be the high point of his career, as if his win against Xu Xin this year wasn't awesome enough.
normally ma long is shouting really loud on good points like actually every other player. but this time i didnt feeled like he was in a good shape and willing to fight as his footwork where not as good as usual. i would have loved to see him against fzd tho.
agar.io masters yes but this does not mean he didnt want to win or didnt care. LJK completely destroyed his service with the flick, probably because he could see the spin since they played with the two toned ball. you simply cannot win everyone, LJK was fantastic he didnt let ML play his game, ma long dont play TT by himself :)
So many ruthless serve returns by LJK ! He deserves many more major wins
Very strong backhand
Why does the ball have two colors? (3:38)
The original idea is to allow the audience/viewers to see the direction of spin. Clearly, it does not work..
Gotta catchem all

there was someone who actually wanted to win and on the other side was ma long....
apparently Ma Long is not unbeatable
EVERY player is beatable!

i don't think you can be number one in the world and lack mental strength
Patrick Hicks Relative to the top 10 in the world
Holy crap, Ma Long had no idea what to do against Liang Jingkun's backhand
Ма Лонг хотторон хаалла ээ... По-любому не в настроении сылдьар быьылаах.
No-neck Liang Jingkun strikes again
