I am 68 retired married 43 years to the same women. I have always liked traveling. Growing up I would spend my summers in Newfoundland Canada at my uncles cabin My cousin, my bother and I would go on 1 - 3 day hiking trips and always had fun exploring new areas At 17 I drove a Norton 750 Commando fastback motorcycle from NJ to CA, broke down on my way home and sold the bike for a bus ticket. The last 20 years before retiring I traveled to 20 countries doing engineering projects, each trip was 2-5 weeks long in small towns. Every once in a while I would say to my wife I need an adventure, she would just laugh and say go ahead. My adventures today are mostly solo sailing in the summer and solo backpacking in the winter. Both are normally just 1-3 day events. I have slept outside in my backyard 3 times in the past month testing out my new tent and sleep system.

@@davidmodeland429 No problem! Happy to help! We can all get wrapped up in trying to plan grand adventures and comparing what we’re doing to what others are doing. In the end an adventure is an adventure as long as it makes you happy!
@ Thanks I really appreciate that! I try my best to inspire people to get out there, not make them envious. Focusing on trips that are achievable to the average person and trying to give them enough information that they could do it themselves. I find myself getting envious of other TH-camrs and the epic trips they post but at the same time I know those trips can cost $5000 +. Which is something that’s not reasonable for most people lol.
@ryansroutes1805 and THAT'S why we love you! You're down to earth and relatable. I do find myself getting caught up the same as you, I want to do the bigger better trips and I get too focused on the big things, then I forget to enjoy and appreciate the things around me. Your channel has helped me get out in my own backyard again (I do Live right on the edge of a beautiful forest in eastern Saskatchewan) and not take it for granted so much.
@@davidmodeland429 That’s awesome to hear! You’re lucky to have something like that in your backyard, a lot of people aren’t as fortunate. I’m lucky in that respect as well, growing up my parents owned a couple hundred acres of forest which backs on to a huge conservation reserve. I spent my childhood exploring that bush and know it like the back of my hand. I still use it for a lot of my winter content because I know I’ll have the whole place to myself.
@@martinkersteins6073 thanks for the love! All of the 360 footage came out of the GoPro max if I’m being honest. Although I did just upgrade some of my camera gear, one upgrade being to an intsta 360 x4.
