I’m at the point where I can build things with React and consume API’s. Now I’m studying Java. While learning I can’t help but compare Java to JavaScript and I can see why people complain about JavaScript and vice versa. Java is super verbose and oop is not so easy. TypeScript helps out where JavaScript is lacking so I can see why some prefer TypeScript over JavaScript.

Python and Java both are used widely but for different purposes, suppose if you want to learn AI you should continue Python because its populer in this specific sector, but if you want to learn anything related to android, Java or Kotlin should be your choise, all depends on you, just pick one to start. If needed you will learn another language structures.

I was confused initially that functional programming is the new trend and I dint learn java in my initial stage... But I struggled a lot when I was promoted from DevOps engineer to software engineer II in my previous organization. I had problems adapting with the codebase and the company fired me due to my incapability to adapt from DevOps to software engineer.... I wish I could have learnt java... If not , can we switch to other fields in IT, if we are not good enough 😕. Like cloud or managerial roles . Is that a possibility? How do older people 40+ age still survive as software engineer ?
Try to see if coding can complement your existing experience. If you are an absolute beginner, be prepared to spend dedicated months to an year to actually get started off and reach a situation where you can build projects. I am also from non-CS like op. I have been working with C++ and QT for 2-3 years now, and have been spending the last 5-6 months studying DSA for the first time as a proper course. Thank you for making this video, its really helpful since Im a student thinking of which programming language to learn. Would u recommend learning Spring Boot once I learned Java? Cheers!
Sir i am 12th grade student and learning c language as my first language in school and your video showed me a path to follow thank u
You have a golden chance to attend CS50 by Harvard online through. It's the best course out there to start your programming journey.
Hey, I like the way you tell the reality of learning to code. I am currently in the same boat as you were i.e jobless after B.Tech CSE. Even after being a CS grad, I am unable to code. I have wasted many months watching youtube tutorials of Java, Python, Javascript but it didn't helped at all!!!. Would you tell how long did it took you to learn java on Code Academy and how long would you study everyday
I did 1 hour a day and the course lasted less than a month
I’m at the point where I can build things with React and consume API’s. Now I’m studying Java.
While learning I can’t help but compare Java to JavaScript and I can see why people complain about JavaScript and vice versa.
Java is super verbose and oop is not so easy. TypeScript helps out where JavaScript is lacking so I can see why some prefer TypeScript over JavaScript.
This Video was Superb I was just thinking to choose JavaScript for learn coding but this video change my mind now i am excited to learn Java , Because you are my inspiration and you explain the Javascript path was so longer then the Java and You explain everything in the easiest way ThankYou Sir for making this Video ❤️
Good luck!
@@sahilandsarra Thankyou Sir 😍
I would like to say: You forgot to mention the power of javascript 😀, it single handedly kills everything.
I am glad I've found you, i am in same position as you were 5 years ago
Bro I love you, I think you were just so much important to me in this world man, I was also binge watching TH-cam videos and wasting my time(trust me I was watching it for almost 8-9 months), until I got your video. Most importantly you are giving the free resources which I needed and I will learn java now. Man you don't know but I am feeling as someone took my stress and frustration and gave me something which I wanted as a kid.
I have watched 4-5 videos of yours and It was very informative, not at all trash content that is generally present on youtube, I subscribed your channel. May you reach a million subscribers mark.

Hi, what would you suggest to a person who has already learned Javascript and is making projects?
Do I still need to learn Java for DSA?
Don't think so.
I have watch these sort of videos and started a series where i will follow whatever you people say and update the progress. I am the guy who started programming
May I ask even you learned some code. It is important to consider that would you be hired by some company to get a stable career path or income? Or the scope of the coding is extremely wide and difficult so it takes unbearable efforts to learn in a continuous way?
I really needed this video. Thank You for creating this.
Glad you found it useful.

Hi Sahil,
A quick question: “How long will it take for you to reach your current level of expertise if you start from zero and follow this path?”

Thanks for your support. Will try to cover this in upcoming videos. But, I do have a video on Python: Fastest way to learn coding and actually get a job, which can be helpful.

Great stuff you shared.
Following the steps you discussed, what concepts do I need to master before I can build The Guided Projects (Tic tac toe, Sudoku, Snake etc) and subsequently build My Own project? Can Java concepts from 'Learn java from scratch' on Educative be enough to satrt the Guided Projects?

i started learning python after watching your last video and now i came across this one in which you're recommending java and mentioned that python is slow and not really used in big companies like Amazon and Google. now im confused if i should start learning java and put a hold on python for now or not
Python is an equally good choice. If you're already learning Python, continue with it. Good luck!
Python and Java both are used widely but for different purposes, suppose if you want to learn AI you should continue Python because its populer in this specific sector, but if you want to learn anything related to android, Java or Kotlin should be your choise, all depends on you, just pick one to start. If needed you will learn another language structures.

I have 5 years of diverse experience. As DevOps, software engineer and site reliability engineer... But software engineer is something that interests me a lot. However I know JavaScript and python... I would have dealt the codebase at ease.... So no excuses learning java after 5+ diverse experience. Just adhering to Sahil's words and I have no doubt I will maser Java or pickup java easily

The fact that you mentioned Bro Code...man...is humanly possible to teach Java a better way than Bro Code. He's the best
So true!
I know I am pretty late, but i was wondering what your opinion on C# is? I picked it as my first language (besides HTMl & CSS if they count) and really liked it because it directly is from Microsoft. I also heard that it is really familiar to Java so I would love to hear your opinion :D.
C# is equally good compared to Java, just apply the techniques he made mention of in your learning of C# and you're good to go.
Its very good! Working! Thanks.

Hello Sir,
first of all thank you for this kind of good information. So you r saying to focus on java if i am starting to code but i already started learning python and i have a good grasp on C and it's DSA from my college days..should i keep going with python or it would be preferable to change to java asap, like i have complete all my my basics and right now learning DSA from udacity which u have prefered on your early videos.
Hey! You shouldn't change anything. Python is a great choice.
I started as a fullstack (MERN stack). I am learning DSA to get these big giants
In which language you are learning dsa
Thank you for the video, extremely helpful. One question , can you tell me if 28 is good age to start coding , and have a successful career ? If not , can we switch to other fields in IT, if we are not good enough 😕. Like cloud or managerial roles . Is that a possibility?
How do older people 40+ age still survive as software engineer ?
Age is not a factor, the skill is the only factor.
What you need to ask yourself is - Why do you want to learn coding?
Once you answer that question, the rest becomes easy.
@@TimothyNyota to build something fun and make money obviously. simple question simple answer
@@TimothyNyota The Why is the driving force.
I believe that doing some CS courses would definitely make you a more well-rounded programmer.
Java is very interesting language if you delve deeper into it and also Yes, it’s just a matter of weeks to learn other languages if you already know Java..

@@captainAOG Yepp, thats common, I too hate Java C++ or C# or anything like these languages but dont know why. Sometimes I hate even Js, I feel like Python is all in one, anyway we have to learn languages when its needed.....
Gotta disagree with not learning JavaScript 1st lol i only knew html, css, and JS when I landed my 1st job after only 6 months of coding. As a jr dev or someone trying to get into SWE you NEED a nice looking (front end) portfolio.
By watching your video, I had also decided to learn coding starting with Java. However, my friend suggests me to do the course in cloud computing as it is having better salary and scope. Now, I'm confused. It'd be really helpful if you can tell me your opinion. Thank you.
Get a Job in Java/Spring Boot first, only then you think about other advance shit like cloud computing or machine learning.
You are going to fail from the get go if you start thinking about advance stuff right now, definitely gonna quit after feeling dumb af.
Don't want to be a downer here but just getting the "easy level" Java/Spring Boot is already hard af and most self learners don't even make it past this foundation. So there you go.
