Greetings from the California DRY desert. I have to work fast so the plate doesn't end up drying to the point of tearing. I do use the slower drying Blicacrylic paint.Enjoy this channel! You are as always inspirational.
This was fun! The Sam Francis piece inspires a happy feeling and for sure your response does, too. And the ghost is off in a world of its own. Mmm hmm. Love that ghost! 😊 Words not necessary. Just delish! ... I've been trying the pastel transfer. My pastels are older than dirt, older than I am (70 + years 😳) And I don't know if they are "soft" pastels or not. While interesting, these old pastels are a bit frustrating. Happily mishaps and frustration make the learning and bring the joy. 🙏 Until next time!
thanks so much! You might have oil pastels that have long since dried up. You can try rubbing one on a piece of paper and see if it will smear on your finger. If it is chalky, it is a soft pastel. If it feels greasy, then it is oil.
Have you thought about preparing the background for print A and print B, then using print B for the first pull and going back to print A for the ghost? So you'd have the lines and dots in the background of the first print, then have the first pull on the stencils on the 2nd print, and then go back for the ghost print for the first print.
Thanks for the introduction to Sam Francis, and what beautiful prints. Which brand of pastels are you using? Really intense color saturation. Always great watching you print.
Maybe by brushing on the blue, green an purple circles in paint would’ve prevented the smears & smudges, although it looks perfectly fine the way you did it. Maybe pastels would be better as a last step to add marks and then spray with a fixative???
as a last step I wouldn't use something that needs a fixative. I hear there is a new product similar to Posca that write fat lines in acrylic. I'll have to look it up.
You read my mind! My table is very small and it is a logistical problem setting up for a second plate and filming at the same time. It interrupts my work flow but maybe sometime I will attempt it.
@@artwhisperer88 someone was telling me it turns yellow ….I’ve been using acrylic gel medium …. Seems to work pretty well …. I’ll NEVER stop creating art, thanks to creators like you who inspire !!!
I love learning about artists with your inspiration prints. You are a wonderful teacher in multiple ways!
Thanks so much and thanks for watching!
Love that final piece …your work. Inspiring! 😀
Really love the ghost print. Both are interesting. Love the use of the pastels. ❤
Thanks for share another video. You inspired me so many times. See you on next video 😊
Sam Francis , a truly master of the monotype technique , thank you for posting
thanks so much!
Thanks! Always love the ghost prints especially
Another fabulous tribute - well done! 😊
Thank you so much 😀
This one of my favourite of your pieces …. Beautiful!
Thank you for introducing another artist's work. I cant wait to see how you interpret it in your own way.
Wax crayons must be added to your paper or dried painted layers. They don’t do well on the gel pad
Thanx Fulton for the video’s and explanaition . You are my inspiration. Greetings drom Amsterdam 👍😘
bedankt voor het kijken! 😘
Beautiful and inspiring as always.
Both prints are amazing!!! Thank you for sharing your process
Thanks for watching!

I'm becoming a big fan of that orange! Loved your interpretation of the inspiration piece too, and the ghost print.
Really enjoy the look of the transferred oil pastels!! great print!

I like to use cheap wax crayons, which often repels paint & gives a cool effect at anytime through the process.

No, I wanted them to be separate entities.
Loving this one Fulton !! Nice work !!

Thank you for the beautiful inspiration and teaching. Could you share with us what kind of Mod podge glue you use? Thank you
Mod Podge Matte finish
Thank you so much!
I LOVE you registration contraption….did you make that ? Could show vid on how you made it ?
Hi Jason, it was a gift from a very talented viewer who does woodwork for a hobby. Pretty spectacular, but he wishes to remain anonymous.
That’s fine anyway to just get a spec on it privately somehow….i too have a woodworking friend
@@jasonballinger3549 You can ask your woodworker friend to watch this and he can make one for you. th-cam.com/video/kZp6vtwpC_s/w-d-xo.html
Good idea….just wanted the math worked out …. I’ll figure it out … thx 88
Have you thought about laying your wet stencils on your other gel plate or do they dry too fast to successfully transfer?
You read my mind! My table is very small and it is a logistical problem setting up for a second plate and filming at the same time. It interrupts my work flow but maybe sometime I will attempt it.
Did I miss where you say what size plate you are using here ?
Are you using like Elmer’s glue ? Is this better than something like mod podge ?
I love Mod Podge! I like it over other stuff.
It is not archival though right ?
@jasonballinger3549 No it won't last another 100 years, but should that stop you from creating art?
