      Thanks Jacky! I thought I would show more detail on the mower since they are still newer in the marketplace and people dont know much about them.

    Well shoot, I'm just about to go out and video myself changing the cutter bar oil in my discbine, you beat me to it! LOL That Kubota looks like a nice mower. Good information, as usual :)

    Also, isn't it funny how sometimes 'little' details like that are not in the manual! I've come across that before too.

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've bought new equipment and received just a photocopied manual, which contains little useful info. Sure is frustrating!

    Nice maintenance work! LOL, the 'rigged' channel, I just had one of those draining one, it didn't work that well either, most was on the shop
    floor! Looking forward to seeing that thing in action!

      I tried lol Sometimes I wonder what engineers are thinking when they design things. All they had to do was design a drain plug with a small valve and hose connection. Then I could have just connected a hose and drained the oil in a bucket!

    Interesting they don't say how much oil... Looks like the old Deere cutter bar, they had amounts for all the boxes. Even sold the cutter bar oil in the right size bottle!!
    3 knife discs, interesting.
    Flail conditioner is the best!!!
    Thanks Chris!

      Yup, the only capacity listed in the manual was for the cutter bar. This mower cuts cleaner than any other mower I have owned. Thanks Ed!!

      @Jeff Reymond well.. you don't have to change it, or put any in...
      But they usually last longer if you do😂🤣👍

      @@dehavenfamilyfarm maybe with 3 blades and the same speed it just does better??? Maybe more overlap too???
      I do like the looks of it!!
      I especially like the flail conditioner!! When we had the JD machines with the flail, we could do 3 day hay, maybe 5 days if it was cloudy.. now with the rubber rolls, it's 5-7 days and tedding it all the time.. UHG

      @dinglezilla As people have already mentioned, kubota bought out Kverlend a few years ago, and just painted their equipment orange.

    Thanks for the maintenance tips. Do you like the flails over rollers? Does it have 3 blades per head? I have a Caseih DC102 discbine with flails. My cutter bar has individual gear boxes, each with its own drain plug and fill hole. I was told to stay away from the stile cutter bar you have because of the hills on the farm. They said the oil would go to the downhill side of the cutter bar and could possibly burn the bearings up on the uphill side of the cutter bar. Mine is a standard hitch. That is one thing I would like to have different. I think the swivel hitch would be nice. I mowed about 10 acres yesterday and just finished tedding it and it rained. Just my luck. LOL. Sorry for the long comment and questions. Good luck with your hay season.

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I have the steel fingers or flails depending on what region you're from lol Three blades per head- cuts better than any other mower I have owned. As for the way the cutter bar is built, I haven't had any issues yet, and that may be because it seems to hold more oil than other manufacturers. Our weather forecast shows rain 5 days a week, but we hardly get any from the storms- it is getting dry here....

    I hope thats not 80-90w that went in that cutterbar?
    It should really have ISO68 grade oil. 80-90w is too thick and can heat up your cutterbar real bad, dont forget those discs are spinning at 3000rpm!
