- Gold Creek Pond is a popular area for snowshoeing and winter recreation. It is located near Snoqualmie Pass in Washington state. The views are picturesque and on this day it even snowed a little bit making the scenery even more beautiful. From the Hyak Sno-Park, I hiked up the closed forest road to the proper trailhead. From there I visit Gold Creek Pond then hike up to Heli's Pond which was completely frozen over and tranquil. On the return, I hike the other side of Gold Creek Pond. Snowshoeing is one of my favorite things to do and I hope you enjoy coming along on my adventure. The Gold Creek Recreation Area will be closing soon for up to a decade for restoration, so I wanted to visit once again before the closure.
Please remember to leave no trace. Happy Trails!!

What a stunning winter adventure! ❄🌲 The snowfall just adds that extra touch of magic to the already beautiful scenery. It’s always nice to revisit favorite spots before they change, and it looks like Gold Creek Pond was definitely worth the visit! The frozen Heli’s Pond looks so serene-thanks for sharing this peaceful winter escape with us! 🙌🏼
Thank you for watching 😀 Heli's Pond was my favorite part of this adventure. So quiet and stunningly beautiful.
Wow beautiful view 😊❤
Thanks for watching!
I so enjoyed your video ❤
Thank you, Valerie 😃
Another wonderful video, Melinda. In a time where so many of us are saying "Dig me!" you are all about showing the experience.
A question, on a well-packed trail such as that one, could one hike it in boots, perhaps with crampons?
Thank you so much! It's not about me, it's about nature. Plus, I'm a huge introvert. ☺ The snowshoes became necessary the further up the trail I went up towards Heli's Pond. On the highly trafficked trail, microspikes or simply boots would work. It depends on your comfort level and if you plan to step off the trail because you'll posthole. Crampons are for mountaineering. My snowshoes have spikes on the bottom keeping me from slipping & falling.
