You might want to watch this video is slow motion, go to settings(the little sprocket) and select speed 0.25 then watch how she makes this, it helps! Thanks for making this video, im making this for a birthday gift.
Thank you kindly! Yes, to curve the lid, I curled it around a cup while it was still hot, because it was hot to touch. Then I lined it up the way I wanted on the rest of the chest and held it until it was completely cooled.
just getting my kids into this and they love it and watching your videos have given us so many ideas thank you:) just a question if I may where do you get that large pegboard from? Thank you:)
I think this would be an awesome way to present my girlfriend's bday present, but I'm having trouble telling how many beads are in each piece. Do you have a pattern somewhere?
Hi SpeedBead! I was just wondering if you could give us the exact bead measurements or each piece or a template maybe? I'm just starting to get into perler beading and wanted to make this.
About how many beads do you think you used for each color????? I'm wanting to start trying more projects and this would be. Great bday gift for my mom lol
Nice work! I wonder how difficult it would be to go ahead and make the large key as a separate object itself? I think that would be a cool followup video! :D Oh, and if you make the large key, be sure to hold it up high above your head after opening the chest, hehe. ;)
So I've been doing it wrong with how to iron out the perler beads? I'm not sure what you did with the Tape and making the holes but damn... That's a lot to take in. I'm learning and I just subbed so I don't go crazy.
Thank you! I went to the container store and bought a hobby shelf with tons of drawers! I just pull out the drawers I want to use and put them back when I'm done :)
This is amazing!!!! Congratulations!!!! Do you have a Facebook page or a blog with the patterns or the step-by-step instructions? Now I've seen it, I must make it!!!
I made a Facebook page yesterday, actually! I only have the template for the the mini version of this for now! Problem is they take a long time to make! If you can pause the video on the design you can match it on your own pegboard- just copy what you see. :) it's the same as a written template!
SpeedBead Thank you! I'm following your page. Congratulations! Btw, I hope hope you can help me with some doubts I have. Why do you use the masking tape method? How does that improve the result in comparison with ironing directly on the board? And do you always make holes in the masking tapes? Thank you very much for your help
Awesome thank you! The masking tape method prolongs the life of your peg boards! The peg boards won't be heated and warped and they'll stay perfect with this method. When you use the masking tape method, you always have to poke holes in the tape or else air will get trapped inside the beads and cause the melted plastic to pop. You'll end up with big holes in your final product if you don't let the beads breathe by poking holes in the tape.
Wicked awesome! Is this possible with a 3d pen? I will keep attempting until I pull something melted plasticky off . May be a blob but will be my blob LOL ! seriously coolest thing I've seen
I've just been introduced to perler beads and I got some to make this. I was wondering; When you were bending the top piece (bendybend) was it very hot? Cause honestly, I can't bear hot temperatures and I was wondering if I should do that part with gloves or something. (But you did them with bare hands so--)
+Fandom “KARKAT VANTAS” Trash it was really hot, so be careful! Gloves would work wonders for that bit! I would recommend gloves to anyone for that part :)
Quick question, how exactly do you peel the beads off of the pegboard? I can see you using tape but I'm wondering what kind are you using and then what do you normally use to make sure the beads don't bend while your heating them with the iron?
I use masking tape and then make sure there's air holes poked in the back before I iron. (look up how to use the masking tape method to make sure you do it correctly.) As for bending while you iron, you can put a heavy book on the piece you're not ironing to make sure they don't bend out of place as you go.
Ok. I'm planning on making a Mario coin box and various coasters so I need to make sure the beads don't bend. For the coin box, once I finish ironing a side then just place a heavy book on top of it?
Good idea! When you put the masking tape on, push on it a bunch to make sure it sticks! a few beads may come off but it's not the end of the world. Just be patient with it :)
For the longest time I have been wanting to customize my floor lamp to make it look like a piranha plant from Mario BRos. I know that I want to use a plastic pot for the tube but I just cant figure out how to do the piranha on the top so the bulb still emits light pointing up but still making it look like the piranha is opening its mouth. After finidng your videos I think you could help me with a cool tutorial on how to do a 3d perler bead piece for a lamp that can cover the current plastic cover. Could you help me out?
Aaron Clarke Ah sorry about that! What I did was, I ironed both sides and then laid it over a cup to bend it while it was too hot to touch! When it was cool enough for me to touch, I held it into place just with my fingers until it was ENTIRELY COOLED. Took about ten minutes of waiting for it to be completely cool. Make sure you check your shape with the rest of the box so that the lid will sit right. Hope that helped!
Wax paper would not be a good idea! the glossy side of the paper could melt to your iron or piece. Parchment paper is a better choice. It is as easy to come by as wax paper :)
I just finished this but the top doesn't quite fit! It comes a bit short i think, or i just didn't bend it correctly. Can you suggest a way to fix it? I sure the measurements are correct from your video.
Thanks for the tutorial! It was very helpful! Btw, did you use special beads that are more fixable? Or did you just used standard beads? Just curious. :) I like how you added the "Da na na NAAAA!" at the end. Gotta love that opening chest tune from the Legend of Zelda. :)
I think you have to heat that part up hot enough so it's bendable and it will hold its shape when cooled. But be careful, it's very hot. You're able to use a rounded object to help moulding.
I just made all the parts and put them together. But I had to take them out for a moment and when I went to put them back together, none of the sides would snap back like they did before. Any suggestions?
try swapping the sides and seeing if those go together any better? like switch the pieces around since they're all identical and see if any go better together
hola que tal me encanto tu cofre, me me interesa saber que tanto material te llevas para hacer uno cofre así que tantos hama beads de cada color necesitas por fa me ayudarías mucho y felicidades la verdad te quedan geniales :D saludos

Excellent work, must be so rewarding to finish!
That is very creative. I loved this tutorial. Keep them coming.
I don’t know much about Zelda but that looks awesome
Honestly, I clicked on the video because I was curious how you curved the lid of the chest. Nice idea and turned out great
Thank you kindly! Yes, to curve the lid, I curled it around a cup while it was still hot, because it was hot to touch. Then I lined it up the way I wanted on the rest of the chest and held it until it was completely cooled.
You are a speed bead master.
That is really awesome. Well done!
*dribble* ... looks so good, nice short vid
FiloPixie Thank you so much!! :D
Once you iron the edges, it never breakes?
I'm going to get perler beads soon, except I want to know what that thing is you put on top of them before you iron them?
masking tape and perler iron paper or parchment paper
I just found out about these perler beads! -_- But anyway, great tutorial. Straight to the point and entertaining. New subscriber!
@speedbalk how did you get you're top layering piece to bend like that?.
probably bended it while it was still warm.
THATS AMAZONG
U are so talented that's amazing
Aw wow thank you so much!!!! :D
Amazing, looks nice
thank you!!! :D
just getting my kids into this and they love it and watching your videos have given us so many ideas thank you:) just a question if I may where do you get that large pegboard from? Thank you:)
+Daniel R Yay so glad to hear that!

Then I hope he likes it!!
Hi SpeedBead! I was just wondering if you could give us the exact bead measurements or each piece or a template maybe? I'm just starting to get into perler beading and wanted to make this.
Yes I would like that too please, like a close up of the bead layout thank you ☺️

this is so cool!
Krezpipata Eeep! thank you!

what size was that jar you used? ;[
What site do you use to know the exact height of each side ???
So I've been doing it wrong with how to iron out the perler beads? I'm not sure what you did with the Tape and making the holes but damn... That's a lot to take in. I'm learning and I just subbed so I don't go crazy.
I love your video so much!! Congratulations I was wondering where did you get those containers that you have your peeler beads in?
Thank you! I went to the container store and bought a hobby shelf with tons of drawers! I just pull out the drawers I want to use and put them back when I'm done :)
Awesome job what colors did you use?
Black, Dark Brown, Light Brown, Yellow, and White :)
And yellow and tan on the key
ah, thank lordy loo I'm not the only one who says *you're done son*
This is amazing!!!! Congratulations!!!! Do you have a Facebook page or a blog with the patterns or the step-by-step instructions? Now I've seen it, I must make it!!!

This is amazing!
This is SO awesome! Where can I find the pattern to follow?
Wicked awesome! Is this possible with a 3d pen? I will keep attempting until I pull something melted plasticky off . May be a blob but will be my blob LOL ! seriously coolest thing I've seen

Yeah! Heavy books do the trick. Make sure your piece is entirely cooled before you remove the book. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes or so.
Thank you so much for your advice! I'm going to give the masking tape method a shot to make a coaster before working on the coin box
Good idea! When you put the masking tape on, push on it a bunch to make sure it sticks! a few beads may come off but it's not the end of the world. Just be patient with it :)
Haha that chest opening FX at the end xD Nice tut :D can i find the patterns anywhere? Thanx :D
hi I was wondering where you got your board from. The biggest I can find is 29 by 29 pegs. Thank you.
+Beth Jackson-D'Zacchaeus I got it from Joann fabrics :)
+SpeedBead ahh ok thank you.
That s so cool
that is damned amazing !
what do you use to put the beads in place?
tweezers
I'm still confused on how you did the top and got it to mold the way you wanted.
For the longest time I have been wanting to customize my floor lamp to make it look like a piranha plant from Mario BRos. im sure the heat coming off the lamp wouldnt be good with the perlers
what is the type of paper you used to iron it called?
+Genesis Molinares You can use any type of baking paper, it's just so that the beads don't stick to the iron :D
Can you put up normal speed version please I can't see how you made the top of the chest curved great video anyway thanks
Aaron Clarke Ah sorry about that! What I did was, I ironed both sides and then laid it over a cup to bend it while it was too hot to touch! SpeedBead thnx
that's amazing! !!!!!!
Awesome, wow!!!
Thank you!!
how did she bend the beads
Fantastic!
I'm still confused on how you make the top part curved like that, could you explain?
While it´s still hot, you bend it like that, then let it get cold while bent.
+Royal Fenikkusu that's right! Thank you! :)
what did you use to apply the beads please reply
They're these little perler bead tweezers I got in a kit ages ago! Unfortunately they broke, but I found more online! :)
ok
how much beads were use?!?!
That helped me so much!
yay!! glad to help :D
I just finished this but the top doesn't quite fit! It comes a bit short i think, or i just didn't bend it correctly. Can you suggest a way to fix it? I sure the measurements are correct from your video.
Shoot! Maybe try reheating it and bending it more sharply! The curve should be pretty snug to the sides, even inside a little bit. See if that helps!
set your iron to a warm setting as opposed to HOT; you don't want to melt the beads more- just heat it up so its pliable again.
SpeedBead I'll try that. If I mess it up more I might re-do the top and make sure it fits. Probably making it a bit longer :)
That'll work too, but it's such a shame to have to waste the time and beads!! I'm sorry! I hope reheating it works for you.
+speedbead are you left handed I've never seen a video with a left handed person make things with perler beads
How do you make that it so nice!😊
I love your vids please make one on a 3d ghastly from pokemon
DA DA DA DAAA!!! i love it
I love it
why do you tape it before ironing?
To hold the beads in place after taking them off the peg board.
Thanks for the tutorial! It was very helpful! Btw, did you use special beads that are more fixable? Or did you just used standard beads? Just curious. :)
I like how you added the "Da na na NAAAA!" at the end. Gotta love that opening chest tune from the Legend of Zelda. :)
this is amazing xD
AWESOMENESS
What was your ironing method?
Limenia Iraki I used the masking tape method for this one!
How do you make the top curve like that?
I think you have to heat that part up hot enough so it's bendable and it will hold its shape when cooled. But be careful, it's very hot. You're able to use a rounded object to help moulding.
K thanks :)
+Krystal Hawk like ur profile pic ;)
Diamond Kitten thanks :d
where can you buy the perler Beads? ;-;
Try any craft store near you. Or Amazon.

where can I buy that basis ?
+Vale Pas Amazon
Very cool. =)
Thank you!!
Could you maybe put pictures of the finished portions at the end of the video? It'd really help us for actually making it.
I just made all the parts and put them together. But I had to take them out for a moment and when I went to put them back together, none of the sides would snap back like they did before. Any suggestions?
try swapping the sides and seeing if those go together any better? like switch the pieces around since they're all identical and see if any go better together
I tried that already, it doesn't work D:
I will try this out someday, but as a piggy bank.
