Reclaiming Refrigerant Gas From A Panasonic Air Conditioning Unit R410a With A Mini-Max Reclaim Unit

  • This video shows refrigerant gas being reclaimed from a Panasonic air conditioning unit. When reclaiming refrigerant is is very important not to lose any of the gas content during the procedure. This is in part to comply with various refrigerant protocols in place but also many new refrigerants are multi structure composition (zeotropic like r401a) which means if the whole gas structure is not reclaimed it will no longer be the gas it was originally plus the environmental issues associated with releasing refrigerant gas into the atmosphere.
This video aims to show the use of a reclaim rig, setup of the reclaim rig, gauge line set up and location, bottle setup and general overview. A Mini Max reclaim unit was used to reclaim r410a refrigerant from the Panasonic condensing. This video is for demonstration purposes only, gauge line colour may differ and use of equipment such as gas or liquid setting are dependant on the engineer.

I could be wrong but this look more like recovering the Refrigerant. Reclaiming is proceeding it back to its virgin state and I thought it had to be shipped off.

There 2 types of bottles, the 1 that have a tip to the bottom , and the other type that don't have it, like the 1º in the video

Wrong ! You neet to bleed the system first. Air is mixed with the refrigerant......

There’s a lot wrong with this setup. No filter dryer on inlet side. No purging the atmosphere out. He recovered the entire unit in vapor. Very small hoses. No valve core removal or pressure measurement anywhere. I guess it’s better than dumping it into the ozone. Lol.

@@TheSweden740 yeah, he didn't have a filter, some purging in to the air is allowed, and he did recover from the liquid line

@@TheSweden740 he purged the lines once they were hooked up by opening the valve at the unit and then tightening the line at the tank. He has guage on the machine, are you sleeping while " watching" this?

Once you have recovered the gas do you keep it under your bed.
Here in Africa we let it be free to the sky. There's no purpose in keeping old gas.

-not vacuuming your system, now that refrigerant is contaminated. Throw it away....
-When purging and the meter is at '0' . First close your bottle! Then you will have no emission.
    Clearly your not a professional

not vacuuming your system// he used the purging/ bleeding air from the bottle connection.
When purging and the meter is at '0' . First close your bottle!// bottle was closed, it opens after bleeding the air. he is professional.
