If the led on key is in top right corner of the key then yes will work....vw, skoda and seat all use the same key case and circuit board. Older VAG cars have the led in middle of key
Thanks for the video, I found you on MK6 Owners FB Group... I really would like the MK7 key on my MK6 :/ so I was wondering, maybe it’s a stupid question but do you think it would be possible to adapt it even if we cannot see the led light after finish?
@Ricardo ZamZamora it is not possible to adapt the mk6 key, with LED in top corner, to mk7 case. The buttons do not line up and circuit board is just a little 2 long for the case.....if you want mk7 key then you would have to contact an auto locksmith to make you a new key and code it

If you'd have dimmensions, that'd be great :) 2) Does the replica key come with "VW" emblem stickers or do I need to peel the original one off the Mk6 key and put it onto the Mk7 replica? 3) How does the buttons feel on the Mk7 key compared to original Mk6? Reason I ask is because a friend of mine broke his Mk6 key so installed into Chinese case of Mk6... All fine but the buttons are "hard" to press. Thanks!
Q1, it's a little bigger and heavier than mk6, don't have dimensions at moment as don't have the key on me. Q2, mine came with new vw sticker, some don't. Q3, I dont think my buttons are stiffer 🤷♂️
@@whatsdavedone104 Thanks. I've taken a look at that Ali store and it seems that those guys are able to ship already pre-cut blades based either on provided photo or the VW factory key code. This way it would be even less headache doing the swap. I have messaged them asking more details.
Anyway, long story short. The reply speed of the chinese seller is not the fastest and English language is not the best but they sell the Modified key as well provide the blade cutting service which costs $4 (separate listing, need to send them message before ordering to confirm). I think this is the best option for one who's looking for a swap with least headache. However, I decided NOT to go with this key. The reasons are the following: 1) blade is flipped 90 degrees. This makes turning the ignition on and starting the car uncomfortable due to key position, if compared to factory key. 2) the new shell is quite big, ~8 cm. Considering that I carry 2 remotes (garage openers) attached to the key, this will result in no space in the pocket. Hope someone finds this info useful.

Wicked conversion mate, I would've stuck a new cr2032 battery! Thought it was easy until you said to drill a micro hole on the blade.. lol

@gamestern269 you can push the pin in but if you push it to far you could damage the circuit board or transponder chip 😔
Nice, a lot easier with transponder soldered on the motherboard.
Yes....its a little easier than the mk5 key conversation.....hardest part is getting the pin out that is holding the case together

Are you in UK? Try putting +44 or 044 before number and take off 1st 0 of you number....0447540------....instead of 07540------
