    Her father, a narcissist, abused his first wife and daughter. I've seen comments criticising the daughter for "loving" her father, but it's important to recognise the manipulative nature of narcissists and the impact it can have on their victims. It's unjust to judge without understanding the complex dynamics at play, especially considering she was an only child and her father's behaviour may have been the only form of "love" she knew.

    • @bittehiereinfugen7723
      @bittehiereinfugen7723 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      And you also have to take into account that she only knew it that way from an early age, she was born into it. And her mother showed her what role she should take in the family, especially towards her father, but she herself never developed an emotional bond with her daughter.
      It was also deeply traumatizing for the girl to be sent to boarding school. Yet another reason to become emotionally slavish to her father, because all the power lay with him and she didn't want to be abandoned again.

      @LunaMoon518 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Absolutely. Narcissist abuse, especially long-term childhood abuse is insidious. A child has zero chance against it.
      She has a malignant narcissist for a father and a mother that is indifferent, passive, and complicit in the abuse by not protecting her from it.
      This kind of systemic abuse, type of toxic family system teaches you that this is what love looks like, that it is normal and acceptable. It teaches you co-dependence, people pleasing, constant fear of punishment, constant egg shell walking, constant survival mode which often results in disassociation for the child.
      The Narcissist works to isolate each member within the family, so that they are the one with all the power and control and uses all the punishment and manipulation tactics seen here: mental, emotional, financial, and physical abuse to maintain that control.
      All my best to Sam. That little girl deserved all the love and wholesomeness, just as every child does.

    My heart breaks for this sweet girl. She had a father that she adored who was a narcissist, selfish, and held him self over everyone. Her mother was detached and never had a relationship with her only child, and a stepmother who helped to get rid of her mother. You can hear and see the remaining trauma in her face and voice.

    What about Patricia? There's a good chance that she was complicit in the murder and/or cover-up. At the very least she was a confidant of her psycho boyfriend. I bet she knows what happened to Sam's mother and where to find the remains. She should be in jail with Russell.

      The fact Patricia dressed up as her mother to sign the house over to herself, shows she knew the mother was dead and wouldn't contradict her. It's at least fraud.

    This poor poor girl. Traumatised and still very distressed today after two damaged psycopaths left her without kindness, support and love from childhood to walking the dangerous city streets alone without a bed to lie on at 16. Deeply disturbing these people slipped through many safety nets meant for abused children. I am so sorry for her and hope she is happy and contented with her beautiful son and getting all the support she needs. Heartbreaking story.❤

      I had a controlling husband who did not wanted me to see my family. It became worse and worse. After two and a half years I choose for myself and my kid and left. This was in 1977. I did the same when I was 16. In my country there was no help for kids at the time. I left school, found a job en rented a room.
      She should have left with her daughter way way sooner. Even before her husband took in his mistress.
      I feel very sorry for the daughter. Her story made me realize I made the right decision. But the mother should have made better life choices

      The mother was indifferent, cold, selfishly passive and complicit in the abuse. She not only fails to protect her daughter from the constant abuse, she throws her child under the bus when it suits her.
      Being a parent does not entitle you to love from your kid. You have to actually show up and be a good parent to earn that love. And even still, children are so innocent that they will give that love to anyone who even pays them the least attention - like the malignant narcissist of a father who only gave his child his conditional attention when it suited him. Neither of these parents were good, safe or loving.
      Unless you have lived under a systemic abuse system like a household run by a Narcissist, you cannot judge the reactions of a neglected, used and abused child.

      Please don’t blame victims of abuse for “staying”. Most are utterly trapped and get no real assistance from the $2 Billion/year taxpayer fraud that we call The Domestic Violence Industry. The DVI is controlled by an extremist organization who have co-opted DV to front and fund their political agendas. They have just as much blood on their hands as the actual killers. Too many victims seek their help, follow their advice, and still wind up murdered by their abuser for it to be unintentional. Nothing drives donations like a mom who has been murdered by her abuser!

    • @AlisonEngel
      @AlisonEngel 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You have obviously not gone through abuse as a child to say these things. Sam had a bond with her mother clearly, but she blocked it due to the abuse that messed with her head. The tears and pain that she is feeling now shows that she loved her mother and feels deep guilt in the way that she reacted back then, but it isnt her fault. She was angry with her mother for allowing her fathers mental and physical torture over the years and that is why she hit out with that statement. You will never truly understand a child that has been abused over many years because you are not trained or possibly have never experienced it. I have. Not in the same way exactly, but it messed with my mind for many years. My sister went through totally different reactions to me. I just hope Sam got therapy and her mothers share of the house at least was given to her as some sort of compensation. It is a pity that Patricia isnt in jail along with him because I honestly believe that she was a part of the murder plot too.

This whole episode makes me feel sick and uneasy like no other episode. You Sam were absolutely blameless. I do hope speaking and revealing this is some help to you. Sam's trauma hasn't resulted in her becoming an abusing person (as her father's experience is suggested). I hope you can survive these terrible terrible actions towards you. I think that's too harsh. The mother was incapable of displaying affection towards her daughter, probably because Russell intimidated her to isolate her from her child. But I know from personal experience that it is very hard to have empathy for those who not show us empathy. The daughter was simply the child that her father raised her to be.

      You’re an idiot if you don’t think she was being beaten and threatened. Cowed down and treated horribly. The mother wasn’t abusing her she was detached. If you can’t see all of that it’s clear you were never in a situation like this so you are a thing not either of these women that were done this way. If you want a thing that would have been the tramp that moved in that house and slept with that woman’s husband with full knowledge.

      It sounds more like the mother was totally subjugated and broken. She seems to have had very little ability to speak up for herself or her daughter. She was broken as much as Sam was. Her mum let her down by using the ammunition Sam gave her but she must have been struggling to not use it after so long. Just tragedy all round. And a disgusting man.

    God, what a caricature of a human being.
    But, honestly, I can well imagine that his wife is still alive.
    She wouldn't be the first to just run away and leave everything behind, even her child (with whom she apparently had no emotional connection).
    Women like her often choose this type of man in order to enhance themselves. They are just as self-promoters as their partners. But when the relationship takes a turn like this, it is of course doubly tragic for her.
    But how could a guy like this ever really publicly admit that his wife left him? Him, the greatest of the great?
    It serves his ego much more to keep everyone guessing, even if it means harming himself.
    People like him are all about control through manipulation, because he is a fraud through and through - control and his reputation are everything!

      Yes you can. Even more you can be convicted without a body, without a murder weapon and without forensics. It's called 'absence of life'. As long as the police have made every effort to find a body in a 6 year period , or other evidence to no avail, then a suspect can be charged with murder
