I’ve been using my 1266x now for a couple months since I last watched ur video. I don’t know how u had yours set up , but I set my disc 1 at 4, and disc 2 at 7 , and my sensitivity is pushed in and turned a bit past half. Yes , the 1266 likes iron. But at these settings I don’t miss nickles or rings. It gives a very strong signal on nickles at these settings. I’ve dug square nails at better than a foot deep. But , it also finds coins that deep. I’m still learning what it’s telling me. Better to dig everything , and not miss the good stuff. It’s old school , but , just because it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles , it still outperforms many new machines. Mines a keeper for certain.
I really didn't know much about it when I did the review. The toggle switch beneath was broken. I eventually got it fixed and used it for a bit but sadly I sold it. I regret getting rid of it now. Its a killer analog machine, hang on to yours.
You dont seem to be using the discriminator which is disc 2. Disc 1 doesn't discriminate it will register anything metal. Get a good signal on disc 1 should be checked out with disc 2. If it t crackles then it's junk. If its strong like disc 1 then it should be a good find. On grassland I find setting 3 is fine on disc 1 with a check on disc 2 set at about 4. Settings will be different for ploughed fields.
Great machine. Could kick myself for getting rid of mine. Where you're finding the 1965 quarter, be on the lookout for the pre-1965s(silver quarters). Some guys 'cherry-pick' and will actually throw back on the ground, the 65 and newer 'clad' coinage. They then keep the silver that they find but they (cannot) find all the silver. In a park like you're in, it is, yes, fewer and farther between and maybe in parts of it that are remote but (also), there should still be silver there that is deep(er) then what their machines are reaching. Also, guys will get a very expensive, 'deep' detector and then not fully take the time to learn how to tune it for maximum depth and/or, their search technique(s) are not very skilled. TRUST ME, I have found the exact same amount and quality of coinage with my lowly, humble BH Tracker IV as someone with a Minelab CX-3030(high-dollar detector). Why and how ?? Because my search technique is 'slow and low'. Slowed down, taking my time, not overlapping and low to the point of scrubbing the coil to the grass and not getting in a hurry. Also, the adjustments on any detector play a large part too. Yes, true, a super-deep detector (in the hands of someone who learns the limits of their machine) can be a wicked, kick-ass combo too, granted.......Happy Hunting Dirt Burglar !!

One of the deepest and best detectors ever made!
Right on.
Been using the 1266x since 1991 never used anything else since.
Deep yes, but nearly no Disc on deep Targets...
hubsi 52 like most machines then ;-)
I have one of these...works great! Willing to part with it...
Moondog Express I have a 1266x also. I wouldn’t part with mine for 500 bucks. Lol. Happy hunting.
I still have mine just not really interested in it...Would still part with it...lol
Moondog Express I’m just curious , but what would u want for yours?
Whatever the right person offers...
little tip : u can push/pull the sens.knob for turbo/normal dept
It was broken at the time.
Fisher thought they could not improve on the 1265x but they managed it.
Fisher 12 series legends in there own right.
The best sound on any detector still very crisp.
The modern ones still not very good sound wise.
I dig iron with my 1266 x . I stick my Minelab Pro find down the hole to tell me if it's iron. Saves time and effort.

I didn't know how to use it at the time but turns out the switch was broken. Stuck on disc one only.
Been nice to hear targets
Fun hunt and you had some good finds. Machine seems to work well. HH
+Rocky Mountain Relics AT PRO Thanks, I'm going to give it another couple hunts to see if I can find anything my AT Pro missed.
Can it detect a target size as big as a car in depth of > 5m?
Sam Kam I should bury one and find out. Lol
Dirt Burglar hahaha, try thay and let me now.
you can do air test instead; )
quisiera la guía de huso del fisher 12 XB gracias
Thanks for watching Juan. :)
Never ever had to use a pinpointer with my 66.

P.S.. Dirt Burglar in the UK is slang for a gay man. Thought you might be interested?
