i kinda feel that the symmetrical look of Rinascita is to symbolize that it is new and maybe more mature where the original Fenice is from his adolecence/childhood and the asymmetrical look was too show maybe a bit more rebellious and flashy. but i do agree with you, i like the asymmetrical look of Fenice and it made it really stand out as a kit.
DarkhalfBreed i also forgot to add that the original Fenice's asymmetrical look may also be to show it's age as a fighter because earlier designs shown in flash backs were much more symmetrical untill his late teen years.

+DarkhalfBreed The Fenice started off as literally a green, red, and cream colored Wing. Through flashbacks we see as he battled more and grew older, it broke and he just kinda kept it looking that way.
DarkhalfBreed the backstory was in the series so from his losses he broke his fenice in battle and he just used those as like battlescars maybe or something like that yet he was caught up to him loosing and loosing his fenice so he coudnt focus on restoring it to its true form so that those asymmetrical parts are also mods so he has more firepower and what not

I just wanna say you have some of the best gunpla reviews on youtube and i love watching your vids for full breakdowns and an idea of the work ill have to put in to get max potential out of the kits. I feel like these vids are meant for my skill level perfectly.
Another excellent review, I seriously do enjoy that you put in the effort to make these short, since it covers everything important while still going through it quickly. It's very time efficient, much unlike the 30+ minute videos from most other reviewers. Of course, the same praise applies to all of your other reviews as well.

I bought this Gunpla back in 2015. It's my first Build Fighters model and I loved every second building it. One of my younger cousins sent me an Action Base and I have not removed the Gundam from it ever since I got it
I really hope they make a master grade of this! I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

I just started Build Fighters and I really like this Gundam
This was the second model I built and I have to say it's great, rather easy to build for beginners, looks fantastic in my opinion, and it's held up perfectly together. I think this model didn't have the beam rapier because of that part underneath the hand, best way to fix this is to replace the arms with that of the wing Gundam fenice.

I completely agree with you on your final comment. I bought both the Fenice & Fenice Rinascita, and while the Rinascita is undoubtedly the more powerful MS (and name), the original Fenice was better in terms of style and pose-ability. I had too many problems with transforming the Rinascita and equipping the shield to a pose that I'd like.
I subscribed solely on the strength of your camera flyovers. The quick movements really add a dynamic element to the normally amateur camerawork of most reviews.
One tiny suggestion, and this is purely subjective. I like the parts of Rrobbert184 videos where he takes the components and snaps them together on screen. I just love something about putting all the pieces together and then viewing the finished product. You could do that or not, it's really up to what you prefer.
That takes the fun out of building the kit yourself! Same reason why I don't like to show full transformations or the smallest nuances of the toy - I think those are the things worth experiencing in person and not a video.

This kit is definitely a must buy! Just a little suggestion, you can use the tamiya enamel paint to line the kit then top coat it. I never have a problem with that though :D
Yup. I'm currently experimenting with all types of modeling techniques.
While I love this kit, after having it for 3 or so months I've found that the wings don't have much longevity, especially with extensive posing. The inner gray pieces begin to show definite stress, and even the polycaps used for their swivel begin to weaken and make the wings want to flop around. If all else fails, though, the kit still looks great even if you just pop the wings off. In fact, it might even make some of the sharper details more noticeable. When all is said and done, there's nothing wrong with a Rinascita in ground mode, or, as I like to call it, the Gundam Fenice Terra.

Mostly panel line + top coat. Painted in small details here and there.

I knew you were going to do the Build Burning Gundam sooner or later. I wasn't too keen on the design at first, but the more I look at the pictures of the kit, the more it's design started to grow on me. And after seeing it in the anime, it definitely made me want to pick it up.

I'm looking at building a model and the fenice was a favourite of mine in BF I also like the Zaku amazing just a question though the black paint you mentioned for detailing would this be difficult for a beginner and should I maybe try different model first?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who prefers the original Fenice to the Renascita (to the point where I've sometimes wondered how it would have fared if it had been a real MS and Heero had gotten his hands on it). The beam rapier is an especially great touch - I think M'Quve from the original series would have loved it. =P
Something I found in messing with my Fenice: You can store the Buster Rifle (with or without the splittable beam rifle) in the little rectangular hole on the backpack, just below where the shield tabs in for the transformed mode. Just slide the Rifle's handle in and you're golden...or maybe "fine and dandy?"
Yeah I saw that, but I didn't like how it looked or how it impeded wing movement.
Can the rifle's small beam saber be pegged into the forearm for a mounted blade, allowing the pistol and buster rifle to be dual-wielded?
I have the mg but the right hand polycap is broken meaning there is no right hand. It still looks good on dsiplay because the rifle looks like its being held. But even before it was rly bad ive been wanting the hg. Anyone think i should get this kit?
Just a question: is this kit roughly the same size as the HG 1/144 X Maoh? I am looking for symmetry in my displays, and I have the X Maoh and the Hi-Nu Vrabe, which are massively different in size. Thanks.
What do you think about the 1/100 MG that they are making for this particular kit? Personally I have been waiting for them to remake this line in 1/100 MG.

Actually, I disagree with the storage for the Buster Rifle (despite being over a year ago), but there is a small rectangular slaught you can fit the buster rifle

Today I built this and when I stared at it,what u said in this video were all true.Things colliding with each other, snap build unsatisfying.To be honest most of the poses from this kit needed a display stand therefore, not any cool action poses could be made for me. But my favorite gundam of all in build fighters was the kämpfer amazing.P.S these are all my personal opinions.FYI,type V3 you're gundam reviews are really the best 😁

TYPE V3 I love your reviews. I wanted to get your opinion on leaving the kit as is after panel lining, or applying a top coat such as matte after lining.
I like adding some sort of top coat to it. Bare plastic just seems so boring to me.

Thx for this review V3. You use Gundam marker for lining? Because you can "clean" the kit very easily leaving no black/dark spots at all.
lol funny you should mention that. When I finished my lining and such, it was very clean! But the topcoat I used (Testors) just destroyed it all. Oh well, it's all still a learning process for me.
***** Always give the panel lining ink some time to dry before applying topcoat. Also, always apply it in multiple thin layers as opposed to trying to do the whole job in one shot. There's less chance of you reactivating the ink then.
Yeah I waited about a day before adding the topcoat. I'll definitely give the thin coats a go with my next kit. Also, I think I probably shouldn't have mixed enamels and lacquers? lol, amateur builder over here!

TaurusOxford I'm about ready to try topcoating my kits. How long should I wait to apply the topcoat? Like overnight maybe? All I'm doing so far is panel lining and using gundam markers.

My Rinascita's right arm part that allows the swivel snapped........What can I buy to replace or do to fix it cause if I super glue it, it'll ruin the articulation..

Lu Huynh Model kits never come with any tools, you'll need to supply those yourself. All you'll really need is a pair of side cutters.
Instructions are in Japanese but there's barely any words as it's all picture based. If you can understand IKEA furniture instructions or LEGO, gunpla isn't that much harder.

That's a good point. This kit technically isn't a wing gundam variant. That said it is very similar to the wing in design.

Guys i need a bit of help. So, i built all my model kits when i was WAY younger, and i mean about 10 to 12 years ago. Now, i suddenly have the urge to build some kits myself, but i want to be consistent with the size of the kits i used to build back when i was younger, to not have the new kits feel out of place. However, i have NO idea which type of grade kit to get. I tried to look on the boxes of my old kits (which i still have amazingly :D), however they don't mention high grade, perfect grade or master grade or whatever. Just difficulty levels. Kits i made include the deathscythe hell and wing zero. Difficulty level 4/5. Considering their size i believe that if i want to get back into building kits i'd need a master grade kit? (1/100), could anybody elaborate so i can confidently make my purchases? I am just kind of confused since the low level kits (1/144) i have do not have nearly as much detail as this high grade. (wing gundam and freedom). Freedom cannot even bend it's legs, so looking at this clip it almost seems as if this is the size of kit i require.. It seems to be as detailed (if not more than) the 1/100 size kits i have.. at least i think they are 1/100
gtafan110010 If you're kit is around 7-8 inches tall, then yes it's a 1/100. Go grab a current MG and have fun!
Don't go for HG as they are not as poseable. I reccomend RG(1/144) same size as the standard HG but has more movement and slightly complex build(the main frame)

Spend some money on a pair of hobby nippers, a Gunpla panel lining marker and an exacto knife and you should be all set

Also, even though the instructions don't say so, the skirt armor in front are usually together. Cut in between the two ball joints to separate the skirt armor.
Kaleb Staunton lastly, there are blunt nubs on the tips of the v-fin(the horn things on the head) cut them down with the nipper and shave the residue off with the exacto knife.

We have he same opinion! The predecessor is more unique because of its unasymmetrical design
if you want a more unique transformation, try the mg aegis. I think, its the most successful transforming gundam yet.
I don't. I hate transforming gundams. Zeta is cool in concept but completely ruins the kit.
***** Transforming gundams are a pain, and is an acquired taste. I personally like them coz I feel like I'm getting 2 in one. Parts do fall off and (some are) terrible to pose, but I respect them because they're ambitious - balancing ms and ma design, and anything in between, is terribly complex.
Do you only review HGs?
I do a bit a of everything but my focus is primarily on HGBF and RGs. I do have reviews written for MGs & PGs but whether or not I'll actually film them is a different story altogether.
I just finished this model and I must ask, do you have problems with yours falling apart? I cant seem to get mine to hold things without the hands falling apart or the waist falling off along with the arms and shoulders.
TarlZaralka Nope. Mine is fine. Although, I did topcoat it which naturally thickens connections.
Weird, the reniscita model I've got actually stays together extremely well and I didn't put any coating on it. It may be possible that the hand are falling apart due to the weapons being placed into the hands or removed from them, you'd probably see this happening most of the time with adding and removing the shield. I'd suggest if you have it, use the arms of the wing gundam fenice instead of the reniscita, it's able to hold weapons and shields easier and should decrease the chance of the hands falling apart.
Weird, that definitely hasn't happened to mine yet, so that's hard to say. Only thing I could think of is the edges that are left when clipping the pieces off, sometimes that can get in that way and can cause problems for the model staying together but if you did that as well, then I've got no clue. Sorry.

I did the same but I suppose it is just my kit, I have gotten some high grades and master grades that I never had problems out of that others have like for example my Astray Blue Frame D everyone says that pieces come off on the waist and arm but I have never had that happen. Maybe I just got unlucky.
Right, still, it's just odd, the gundam fenice reniscita I got is able to hold together to nearly perfect, the only time I've had problems with it is removing the shield, but that's about it, everything else has been holding together greatly. I guess it's just the one that you got that won't hold together. Sorry, I've got no other ideas to keeping it together.

Baby Monster Yeah I went over and redid my Fenice Rinacsitta after seeing this and it looks a lot better now. The eyes still don't look as good as this ones though.
