Love this video. What I discovered quickly after dipping my toes into the specialty coffee world years ago was the immense passion behind nearly every small, local cafe owner and their eagerness to share it. I got sucked in and it’s been so worth it!
Just want to relay my story about coffee. My wife got me a 3 month subscription to a quality place similar to this as a birthday present, from South Carolina. We went through it thinking, yeah, this is pretty good, but it was when we tried to go back to regular grocery store coffee that we realized, omg, it's disgusting and we don't even like it at all, compared to the expensive stuff. Was weird to accidentally get hooked on quality coffee, but it is one of the few things that we've decided is worth the expense every month. Not saying everyone should do that, just that they should get a chance to experience the difference between really good coffee and the regular stuff at some point. Ethiopian tends to be our favorite variety.
man oh man Brad. cool episode. i am manager/owner of Brothers Cortado in concord nh and would i have loved to try the bag of coffee with my crew but it has sold out. i hope you know i love what you are doing to help the Charities. much love.
Crying at the heart and beauty of the Local Legends episodes is a regular (lovely) occurrence, and this one was no different! The How to be an Artist poem was a perfect ending 🥹❤️ thank you for all the beauty and light you consistently put into this world, Brad! ❤️
I’m obsessed with the outfit difference between Brad and Dean in the beginning interview scene, They’re like two different sides of the maritimer. Brad’s knit sweater and tuque is like the cold weather coastal vibes you’d expect the maritimes to be, and dean’s work jacket and camo alpine hat is the reality of who we actually are 😅
Was shocked to click on this & see he was in Nova Scotia!! I’d love it if american creators specified the province in their video titles cuz this is sweet. Hope you enjoyed canadas ocean playground.
There was a café in St. John's, NL that served (I think exclusively) Anchored coffee, and I remember the flavour being unique but delicious. It was probably my favourite coffee shop to go and meet people. Sadly it closed about 5 years ago.
Love the way your guys play off each other, each bringing something good to the table. I always buy dark roast because the medium or 'blond' roast taste sour to me. Is your signature coffee somewhere between medium and dark? I was trying to figure that out from the photos. It seems like Anchor doesn't provide any info about how dark they roast each of their coffee lines.
Try RIP coffee. I put it up there with Hilo coffee Mill from Hawaii. That’s awesome You went to Dartmouth Nova Scotia. I grew up pretty close to there now I live in northeastern BC. Keep up the great content, please.
I'm sure it's delicious, and I like a good cup of coffee as much as the next person, but the price doesn't fit my limited budget. If really good stuff is on sale, I'll treat myself, but I'd rather spend extra $$ on good cheese.
Expect more of it. I am really into coffee and it became clear years ago that cheap coffee is going to become increasingly rare over the course of my life. It's only been so cheap for so long because of intense exploitation. That said, there are many unscrupulous people who mark up their products, call them exploitation free, and just pocket the extra cash.
I used to work at a bar that had an espresso machine. I got pretty good at doing them, but fuck me I hated every single person that ever ordered an espresso at that bar. Like I'd have 35 people in the bar and some jackass is like "I'll take 3 lattes" and I'm like "cool let me drop everything I'm doing for 5 minutes while I have people sreaming at me so I can give you your non-alcoholic beverage that you probably won't even tip me on." We were supposed to use espresso shots to make spanish/moroccan coffees and this one dude came in with some buds while we were slammed and ordered 6 moroccan coffees, I told him I can do it but you might want to make yourself comfortable. That drink order traumatized me so much that I still remember his face to this day. This was like 8 years ago. I could see him now and recognize him. There's a reason I almost exclusively order vodka sodas when I go out to bars now...
@@vilegroove crema is simply foamed up CO2 from the pressure passing trough the ground coffee. Fresher (less degassed) the bean - more CO2 = more foam. @@vilegroove crema is mostly just foamed up CO2 when pressured hot water hits the ground cofffee. Fresher the beans (more CO2 trapped inside after roasting) more foam on top. Thats why its recommended to rest the beans after roastig for up to 10 days before making espresso as the amount of CO2 inside will prevent you from a proper extraction. The confusion started with the term "crema" coined by Gaggia in 40's when introducing brewing under pressure for the first time. It was more of a marketing move then anything else but it doesn't help that in English speaking world crema sounds like "cream" hance slightly misleading
I know I'm in the minority here, but I truly dislike when I hear people use "Jesus Christ" as an explative... The guideline for this channel is only "positive love only" and it just feels like Christianity is the only religion that folks actively mock nowdays. I know most others do not hold the same view. Most will say i'll need to loosen up, or something .... But im going to have to stop watching this channel.... To intentionally use a religious name as profanity is just so disrespectful to those that hold to that religious system..... I'm just sharing my opinion.... Cheers. 😢
Man this series is too good ❤️🔥 cheers to people who care & create with such love!!!
