    Additional Upside: Its Cheap. This vehicle costs $16,201 which is very affordable!
    Also the Sideboard Bed Now has additional fuel!

    I took advantage of the Spring Sale currently on Steam and purchased the DLC that gives you this truck. I did it before watching your review. I got the Crocodile simply because it looked great and the reviews on Steam were generally quite positive. Again, I'm still a beginner in SnowRunner, and I'm at a stage where I've done 95% of the smaller tasks in the 4 Michigan maps and am now exploring the first unlocked map in Alaska. I was rather frustrated by the general worsening of the performance of my little fleet of trucks on the Alaskan terrain compared to Michigan. Of all the scouts I have, only the International Loadstar 1700 hasn't let me down here (side note: I was shocked at how badly the Jeep Wrangler performs with chained wheels on snow and ice, to the point that it seems almost unrealistic). Well, imagine my surprise when I first tried the Crocodile, which even in its standard setup with the default suspension and offroad tyres just *breezed* through the terrain. Definitely impressed, and I can't wait to put this little guy to good use. Your list of pros further reinforces that it was a good move to get this truck. Thank you for these videos, really. For beginners like me, they're really helpful. Cheers! //Rick

    Just thought I’d check since the pike tire size comparison list was off and it looked to be the same list. Like you said Nathan maybe a typo in the making of the list or a mix up but the croc max tire size is 42 not 41 but that doesn’t move it up or down the list just a little bit more information. However it’s max mud tire size is 41. Just an FYI for anyone who cares to know.

    • @NProvince

      I see what I did. So the 41 inch is the TMHS which in my opinion is the only viable option in all maps other than snow so that’s why I kept it as such.

    For me it is a must buy on my Hardmode playthrough. The crocodile is invaluable for early areas due to the small nature of the truck and overall great stock performance.
    The truck alone effectively replaced all my scouts and I will likely only have the Ford 750 as the only scout class truck in my garage due to several factors.
    -Small frame and overall size allows it to utilize scout paths more efficiently if scouting or finishing off tasks that have straggler orders to deliver or to scout.
    -First engine and stock transmission is strong enough to carry moderate cargo loads with one unit of cargo on the bed and a trailer, and likely the most fuel efficient as well. Stock fuel consumption rests around 1.0 Gal/min to 1.4 Gal/min unloaded and traveling at speed. (Close to the CK1500 Chevy in 4x4 mode).
    -Stock tires are also very good and will last you a long time on hard-core runs, but due to the S range power be aware that tire spin on 4x4 even if using dually set up will cause the truck to instantly sink in mud or snow. So go easier on the gas even on stock at times, and just like scouts drive nearest to trees.
    -Great due to the low fuel consumption to shuttle trailers from one map to another to save fuel in less fuel efficient trucks, or trucks that still have highway tires. (Advised to only shuttle unloaded saddle trailers as due to the lightweight nature of the truck the trailer presses down on the back so much that it will cause the front wheels to lose traction, lock the wheels in one direction and coast until you steer in the direction you want to turn to.)
    -Having a 40 Gal gas tank and 1.0 Gal/min to 1.4 Gal/min burn rate is great when also paired with the two add-ons of a roof rack and truck bed were they add a total of 32 Gallons of gas. Great for solo runs.
    -For later stages of the hard-core mode were you likely have better trucks for contractor jobs you are able to still use this to a good extent of the runs you may be doing. The on board fuel tanker, and repair van are able to make this truck operate as a self driving waystation for long trips were you can't get to a gas station easily.

      @@NProvince it just looks PERFECT with the small fuel carrier add on.

  • @92c900t
    @92c900t 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    A couple things I'd like to add: the Croc is vastly superior to the TUZs in terms of pulling trailers, the latter are far too light and bleed so much power, the croc has no such issues due to it's always-on diffs, weight, and superior grip, because:
    Dual rear tires (on the non-muds), just like the F750 and Loadstar. Trucks with single rears like the TUZs and the KRS Bandit really struggle with grip (never mind stability). Both of these features make the Croc much faster off road and much better at trailers than the other small one-slotters (not counting the Zixz as it's basically a normal sized truck and should be treated as such). The saddle on the Warthog is a joke, it's basically useless at towing saddle trailers. The croc is actually viable for hitch and saddle trailers in a pinch.
    Fuel shouldn't have been dinged. It's 210 litres with the roof rack (which has no downside), which is 30 better than the Acteon w/rack. The Tayga twins weigh 12 and 13 tons, the Croc weighs 5. It doesn't need 300 plus litres. Plus, you can use one of the less powerful engines which are still S and S+ on power.

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with most things your saying. Yep it’s the only off-road 4x4 to have the always on features. And it does indeed pull trailers better and drive better, which we’re all mentioned in this video. It still has minor issues with saddles due to its size and contact issues. As for the fuel tank. It’s still way below the average fuel capacity for its class and across the hauling class vehicles. The standard is the standard.

  • @danielhomant2832
    @danielhomant2832 ปีที่แล้ว

    With the addition of the extra fuel, it has a better overall supply of fuel with its service addon. It makes it a great all purpose support vehicle that doesn't use the generic maintenance addon.
    I use it quite often when I just want to have an easy time of things, heh.

    Great reviews, I always watch them when I’m adding a new truck to my fleet. One suggestion: I’d like to see more about addons for each truck. Which addons are compatible, what are the unique addons, which addons combine. This is such an important aspect when finding the place for a truck in your fleet, yet you often talk very little about it.

    I'm sure you already know which truck review you will be doing next. But I would like to see your take on the Freightliner 114SD.
    It's a mediocre truck but it is one of my favourites to drive. I've rolled it a lot but that soft suspension is great on some terrain. Delivering medium logs to the house in the swampy forest, in the east of Big Salmon Peak in Yukon was one of those "cerebral" moments this truck gave me.

    The Small fuel tank makes it best for & It would work well as a support truck carrying a tanker of fuel which then would work best following a convey to keep the fuel supply chain from faltering. faltets in the fuel supply chain equals doubling back which costs fuel to do so, compounding less profits overall.

    The Croc's fuel tank isn't that small. When you compare it to other similar vehicles (Actaeon, Warthog, F-750) the croc's fuel tank is right in line with them. Heck, I think it might even have one of the bigger tanks.
    Now maybe you are comparing it to the Kodiak or Zikz but I think that's wrong. The Kodiak and Zikz are small trucks, small semi's. I see the Croc more as being in the class of a big scout, not a small truck.
    My opinion, the Crocodile, Actaeon and Warthog should all rightfully be over in the scouts class with the 750, CAT TH and Tatarin. They shouldn't be in Offroad to begin with. Either that or the 750 and Tatarin should be in Offroad and not scouts. Basically wherever the 750 and Tatarin is, the Croc, Act and Wart should be in the class.
    Personally I love the Croc. It's my main single slot cargo mover with the Actaeon being my single cargo crane truck since it has the offline winch. I originally wanted to use the Zikz in that role and yeah... 5 minutes in Taymir proved how bad of a decision that was. lol

I really liked the size in Kola in particular, combined with its ability to haul 2 slots worth of cargo, but it had to be used very cautiously. Had the Croc been available at the time though... I probably would have selected it instead. Looks like a great truck, I'll have to pick it up and give it a try.
