I know you probably weren't looking for a real answer when you included the skiing jokes, but as someone who skis more than they walk, there's probably a few reasons: one is that they may just have better cardio. Skiing definitely has a strength component, but it's definitely more cardio-focused than people might realize. The high-intensity sessions followed by rests on the chair are definitely easiest for people with really good cardio. The 2nd reason is that your form while skiing can make an extraordinary difference. Poor form takes WAY more effort than good form, and will tire you out faster. For a lot of people, their lack of strength training ends up steering them in the direction of better form, since it's the only way to survive, but it your case, you can likely get away with more poor form for longer, since you have the strength training to enable it. Try taking a lesson or two (I still try to take one every season, even as a 28 year old who's been skiing for 25 years), and you might find it helps a lot. Lastly, there's the curse of the slowest skiier in the group: faster skiers get to stop and take longer breaks, allowing them to recover, while slower skiers have to get moving again as soon as they catch up to the group, which will tire them out even faster. Funny thing, Varsity did his hacker replay yesterday and in his video you see a cheater named zzup blatantly cheating. At 13:43 you can see several of the zzup accounts being banned.
i genuinely dont get the obsession ppl have with coastline. the map is genuinely terrible and is 100% the worst map in ranked currently (even bravo was better cus it fixed many of coastlines problems, and made it feel like r6 rather then cod). its nothing but long ass sightlines thatcher, any hardbreacher, wall denial ops are all more of a detriment to bring then helpful. theres no wall to get, theres no vertical to play (unless your playing roof like a fucker) the sites suck, theres no counterplay to the map. there is no straits for the map, there is no experimenting with this map, if you do your just throwing the round cus there's 1 way to play that pos map. coastline is just "swing or be swung" that map is the living embodiment of this tdm meta. shit plays more like a cod map the r6 and i hate it. i came to play siege, not a shitty imitation of cod. coast should NOT be in ranked. its just not a ranked viable map. if bravo is getting removed and reworked, and the main parts that are getting changed are the coastline parts. im praying to god that means this god awful map gets reworked too. shit is in dire need of one, then villa right after (basement is useless, 3 of the 4 sites suck, the map just isn't balanced) and before someone calls me a silver cus im here to play r6 (ive been champ since demon veil)
