Magical composition
Everytime this movie Haider leaves the viewer speechless.. From the vedio to the song itself, every single thing. Like when the song opens with Dr. Says to his wife "agar unhe pata lg gya toe koi nahi bachega......" and arijit singh singing simultaneously "bada hai dard ka rishta...." , then when Tabu shatters on learning that her husband is going to be shot by the army, and Dr. Looks back at her while crying, while arijit singing "tumhare naam p ayenge........", etc.
Vishal Bhardwaj has undoubtedly made the best version of Hamlet. An ultimate drug, that can hit heart and mind at the same time.

The melancholy in this is coming from the kalam of faiz. Not taking away any credit from arijit, but the meaningfulness and the sheer pain in the writing of this gazal is amazing.

@@vishwajeetnandyaduraj4804 it's not a competition both are very accomplished in their fields. I don't think there's any artist in India and Pakistan unwilling to acknowledge Arijit Singh so there's already a bias in the statistics for Arijit's fanbase.
Arijit gave it a softer touch. Ali sethi version is more of a pure classic one. Technically difficult to sing.

Arijit's foreshows melancholy and yes the one line is better sung. I can't imagine them comparing, I listened to Ali Sethi & Coke studio version few months later than this but I found its new touch very very legendary.This song of Arijit sir ran only on his fanbase, not it's new change.

Everyone has his opinion. In my opinion, Ali Sethi's version is a next level renedition of the popular ghazal.
(Just my opinion) I didn't like Ali's Version. He added too much vibrations there (if you listen it carefully) which is pretty annoying. Everyone said, ALI'S version is BETTER, so I listened that 2-3 times, but to be honest, i really don't liked ALI'S version. ARIJIT'S version is BETTER for me. However, Everyone has different opinions and it may vary person to person. SO LET'S STOP MAKING OPINIONS AND ENJOY THE MUSIC 😘
