Great video and catch how often do they run and that's awesome that parts of the B&O Portsmouth branch are still being used and are in service and it would be nice to see trains run on the AEP Ohio Marietta branch from Derwent Ohio to McConnelsville Ohio but alot of work would need to be done and It would be nice if the byesville scenic railroad could open up the line as far south as McConnelsville Ohio and use that siding track next to blue bell road to store their equipment and cars and brush cutters and i saw a picture on Google maps of 2 old wooden timber Trestle bridges one is still in place and other has alot of parts missing but like I said lots of work would need to be done for that line to see trains again
Great video! I have been obsessed with the W VA. Secondary and the former B&O STL line since i visited a friend who lives in Athens several years back... Glad to see there are still some trains running in SE ohio!
Thanks! I grew up in Athens (and still live here), so I’ve also been obsessed with the two lines. The Secondary, surprisingly, is much busier and more complete than the B&O! From people I’ve talked to, that’s not the order they expected.
Great video, y'all! I'll be in this part of Ohio in two weeks for a family reunion, if I get them time I'd love to squeeze a chase of one of the lines.
I would also like to get a picture of this train trestle over this road you're standing next to as for CSX I miss seeing them run through Newark Ohio which I hope they will again run trash and stone trains through Newark Ohio in the future
Great video alot of history here I would love to see this train and get it on video have you been to East Fultonham Ohio and Yost and glenford Ohio there are some railroad rail and tie remnants that are still in place alot of abandoned parts of the line and some of the active line are run by the Zanesville and Western Scenic Railroad something that's called the Newark to Shawnee Branch and The Rock Run branch
And I also heard that the morpc wants to help out the Zanesville and Western Scenic Railroad/Mt Perry Scenic Railroad and get their trains to Avondale Ohio and even run passenger trains on it in the future and the Zanesville and Western Scenic Railroad's routes will eventually cross 13 Bridges and cover 15 miles of track and they even want to add a wine tasting train as well as other events in the future so that's pretty awesome news
And Ohio Central will be running Stone trains to St Louisville Ohio soon and we'll have to See what happens within the next 2-3 months but I already got it marked on my bucket list and I plan on getting the Ohio Central St Louisville Ohio Stone trains on video this year and in the future as well happy train chasing everyone 🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂
I think it’s once a week or so. Not necessarily rare, but it took me many visits on different days of the week before I caught it! Which is a shame, as it’s my favorite run of theirs.
@@sirensofneohio3979 At least last time I was in the area, it seemed to be 8AM. But it probably wouldn't hurt to shoot for 7:30 or earlier...just in case!
Great video. My father ownes Respondek Railroad this is one of our sister companies. You should come check out our operation not far from St Louis at the Tri City port. Come do a ride along / video / pics
What a sound! Them old geeps chuggin' away....doesn't get any better than that!
Great video of a beautiful part of Ohio! It's been more than 30 years since this was a main line and I still can't believe CSX did that!
Nice to see that part of the old B&O mainline in Ohio is still in service.
nice photography

I loved that last scene; he came out of that tunnel like he was late for supper
Very cool and very well done video...
All great stuff, but the grand finale is best!
Thanks! It was incredible seeing a GP7 thundering out of a wooden tunnel. Not something you expect to see these days!

@@peterandben do you know where I can find any film of the B&O in Athens?
Fabulous coverage!! It’s been a bit since I’ve seen a GP7.
I need more GP7s in my life, I think!
Looks like decent track they run on.

Thanks! Best of luck, I’d love to see more videos from this railroad!
Great video, looks like you had a good day for the chase.

Im in good with these guys. If u ever wanna visit their shop i could make that happen
I’ll keep that in mind, thanks!
At 6:26 in this video what is that wooden thing that's standing right next to the tracks did that used to be some kind of mill or something
What is the structure at Time Stamp 6:26? Looks like a conveyer for coal?

is the interchange run rare? do they usually just go to jackson?

do they normally go to jackson most days? i’m hoping to plan a chase this summer
Jackson is what I’ve most often seen. And it’s also a nice chase, some great shots along there! I just love the tunnels on the old B&O.
yeah the tunnels are really neat. i’d also like to see them go north to Zaleski. what time do they go OD in hamden if you know?
