My wife got me this and it showed up yesterday. She showed it to me then told me she was wrapping it for christmas. The waits gonna be hard. Great review!
Really good test vid, That is an awesome fieldknife. If anyone is worried about the spin being sharp enough to strike a rod they can use a belt dander or a file to get it able to do that.
Just received my 148 yesterday. Definitely in the ‘beast mode’ category. My only suggestion would be to add 1-2” to the handle. Even though my hand size is avg -small. Anyway thanks again Gruggs for another bad ass video. I learn from each one. Keep em’ coming 👍👍.
Early bird. A knife's anesthetics is huge, but they also need to make it effective for the outdoorsmen and survivalist. A tip that can handle a moderate amount of prying without breaking off the tip would be an import feature for extended use in the wild. I like seeing a more stout tip.
One of their best looking knife. Two things: just like you, I also wish for a more robust tip. The other, maybe the DC53 would be a better choice here. Why they are using the AUS-10 basic stainless steel? Is that such a tough one among the stainless ones? I thought that one of the best is the 14C28N, although you cannot find any over 4,5mm thickness (no steel factory making the raw steel over 4,5mm, but I have no idea why?) I know that AUS-10 is very popular among Cold Steel knives, yet they are making smaller - folders, smaller fixed blades - from it, not the "huge knives" of theirs. A question: If your life would depend on a single knife in a survival situation (your bushplane goes down in the Alaskan wilderness for example - like in the movie "The Edge" with Alec Baldwin and Anthony Hopkins) would be more confident with this one or the EF-141? th-cam.com/video/FuhK9D-vfIM/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/XxQiTRqVy1M/w-d-xo.html
@Cuccos19 between the EF148 and the EF141 I would take the EF148. However the ultimate bet my life Eafengrow is the EF142. Hands down. Watch that video. Actually anything DC53.

Looks awesome beast of knife! But i like your honest opinion! Which is better knife in general 5.11cfk7 or this Eafengrow!?? I am asking because i am going to purchase one of them!
For me the 143 works best, handle is much better, and total balance is also better, it is a bit lighter in weight too. I own both knives, bought 143 first, the 148 later. I would not buy the 148 again.
