Heart touching movie. Love it. Kabhi kabhi eisa karna padta hain. Rishtey nibhane k khatir dil mein dheere dheere jagi huwi pyar ko daba kar rakhna padta hain. Aur jab akele mein uski yaad aati hain toh woh pyar ek dard ban jata hain. Sab ki acting specially Mouchumi ji aur Kankana ji ki acting bht hi acchi lagi. ❤❤❤

I’m sorry for everyone here who had to interpret it as Extramarital Affair in between the woman and the poet! It greatly brings injustice to both the characters..especially of the woman! And hence, I must clarify by adding my understanding after having repeatedly watched the film in original language, Bengali for having a part of my heart etched by the story! The woman in here didn’t begin an affair in the absence of her husband! She was motivated by her Pishi Maa..who happened to grow liberal after comparing all the conservative restrictions of life to supposedly attain a place in heaven and..what in actual lies post death! She did take one or two steps ahead but got stopped by her own dignity as a woman unlike the men in her family, her loyalty to her husband proved its strength as well! She returned back..to her husband to make love and have their child together..the heiress!
Seriously, the wife accepted and loved her quite elderly husband from the first day. She missed her and cried when he was away. Then suddenly, a man, muslim above all, started chasing her. She felt nothing about him more than a stranger. And the Bua provokes her, enticing her absent emotion for the stranger and makes her believe his love . So, a younger age wife finally dragged into believing then accepting an emotion which was not present in the first place 😶😶😶😶😶😶😶??
you Didn't understand the concept. it all revolves around the jewellery. first it was Bua Ji 's wealth , then it helped Lata in her business and then it helped those frerdom fighters
In the second half the context was sifted towards the won desires of the women, in first half they do everything for their family and in the end when there duty was over towards the family they think about won... When the ornaments was got there contribution for the Indipendence for her mother land The Ghost got Salvation, And also Lata got the latters, that unsung love of that man... He also got Salvation...

Mousumi Chatterjee as pisima is ❤. But I have a problem with the name. "Gehno Ka Baksa" would be apt for this dubbed version as the original bengali movie name is "Goynar Baksho". Else it should be "Bua Ji Ke Gehne" not "Bua Ji Ke Gehna".
It was not necessary to spoil the character. Many historical figures married little girl and child marriage is a different issue for debate. But sudden hormonal rush for a unknown man in the road is something not praiseworthy. Seems like the ghost of Pishima satisfied her own desire through Somlata's body.
Story was good in the beginning & really enjoyable. But ending was so bad. The wholesomeness lost in the ending. There was no need to stretch the story.

I’m sorry for everyone here who had to interpret it as Extramarital Affair in between the woman and the poet! It greatly brings injustice to both the characters..especially of the woman!
