- HI AGAIN so while I was recording my last video, I wanted to get some footage where I was in the void- so I clicked on 'single biome world' and pressed the void biome. I was definitely very baffled when instead of being in infinite darkness, I was instead just in... A pretty normal looking plains biome! It turns out, Minecraft's single biome world mode is pretty messed up- so you can end up with some very silly worlds, like a ""nether forest"" that has stretching fields and a lovely river with a bastion in the middle of it. Very strange...!

In older versions, single biome worlds did actually work as intended (as recently as 1.16!), so it's rather sad seeing what's become of them.

fun fact: I'm pretty sure in specific 1.18/1.17 snapshots the new cave biomes when set to single biome world where really weird and they where in the nether for some reason

Nether worlds worked correctly in older versions of Minecraft. T_T The Caves and Cliffs update broke them.

I remember when I played Minecraft Legacy for Xbox One back in the day making my entire world into a cave, there was ore and gravel, the cave world felt complete until I tried to play it on bedrock edition. At that point, bedrock edition didn't know how to generate the world so it reverted to generating just stone.
I just wanted to say that watching Squiddo videos make my day 10x better. They are amazingly edited and hilarious and just great pieces of content. Keep up the great work Squiddo!

When I first played minecraft I was in survival, I didn’t know how to enter creative so this is about Togo as good as you would think😅 I spawned in then saw the world then realised…MOBS! I dug STRAIGHT down then built a little underground hut with my bare hands. Then I simply didn’t know nobs spawned in the dark…so I waited for my hunger to deplete and DIE and my eyes to adjust to the dark. I told my dad about it then days to WEEKS later, I got bored and deleted the app😂 Thankfully no mobs spawned or I would be scared SHITLESS😅

Try opening a mode with structure as and then change back to normal you will see the structure of the mods in the world for the Chunk you loaded
The void biome gave me infdev vibes. Fun fact! Infdev had the first ever far lands sqiddo.

Im actually disgusted that they refuse to fix the single biome worlds, and pretend as if thats how they are supposed to work. I LOVE using them. I already preferred 1.17.1 over 1.18 and 1.19 since i had mixed feelings with the changes they made. (New music, chat reporting, new generation, more laggy) But when i finally try to accept the changes that they made, i finally find out what they have done to these worlds. This was the last straw. I dont think im playing anything above 1.17.1 anytime soon. But ill have to because of mods that dont know when to stop updating to newer versions of minecraft. Not to mention the sea of comments on curseforge begging mods to update to newer versions.

The normal biomes work correctly, it's just biomes that don't make sense to map onto the overworld that are broken
