    when someone say good things about Germany and germans, they are telling the truth. when i was new here (about 32 years ago) i only saw the negative things in that, they are not friendly, sport activities are expensive and time consuming (like getting a license to fish and before you do you have to attend a class and to pass a license exam which defeat the purpose sometimes because by the time you pass your examination, the fishing season is over), even for salesgirls, they only not learn how to be a salesgirl they also specialize (salesgirl for bakery shops, flower shops, butcher etc.) or how expensive it is to get a driver's license etc. After awhile, i realize they do that because they want to be top in everything they do. That's why Made in Germany is known around the world. Germans should be proud of that.

    • @starflight4647
      @starflight4647 4 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      In Germany, the fishing laws are strict, but that's a good thing, after all, because it's about living things! If you have a fishing rod with you that is for a certain type of fish that you're not allowed to catch in that time, you have to pay a fine. You don't want the animals to suffer a lot here, so you have to take a course and abide by the law.

      Idk I'm German and I know quite a few racist people...
      I also feel like there is a huge anti-American sentiment, almost everyone I've spoken to hates American Politics and foreign policy, and some people have told me with full conviction that Americans are superficial and dumb (which is a super ignorant thing to believe of course)
      ...I almost feel like you're gonna face less stigma if you're a black American in Germany than if you were a white American. Cause I think all of these negative stereotypes aren't associated with black Americans as much.
      But idk, that's just my impressions and experiences, might not be representative of Germany as a whole

      Andererseits ist es doch genau das: den deutschen geht es ja alle drum, ihr kleines Häusle gebaut zu kriegen (oder die Eigentumswohnung in der Stadt) deswegen sorgen wir uns überhaupt um Sachen wie Wohnraummangel, während derartige Gentrifizierung in den USA als Normalität akzeptiert wird, weil man ja, wenn man den American Dream lebt und groß denkt, sich nicht kleinlich drum beschwert, dass man sich die Miete kaum leisten kann.
      Also letztlich eben der Fokus erstmal darauf, die Grundbedürfnisse aller zu erfüllen, bevor man große Träume verwirklicht.
      Ich würde sagen, das ist die Essenz von "simple life". Die sicher auch in den USA von vielen Menschen wertgeschätzt wird, aber definitiv nicht gut gesellschaftlich und staatlich unterstützt.

The trash in the streets the straight disrespect for the law the media making situations worse. The big thing is Corruption. It seems Germans try hard to make a good image for there country and stands for a nation. Here in the states it seem alot of people more stand as a individual then a nation. It's not to see how to better as a whole but only to better as a individual. Americas Constitution is a amazing thing but people try to bend and break it again only to help them self as a individual. We have are problems but the best way to over come it is to come together. We need to better as a whole not as a individual a group or a race but as a whole.

Not so with American bread. Its like fluff in my mouth, sticks to the top of my palest (Pallet?) Americans grew up with their kind of bread, that's why many don't like good ole German bread. Um yes and no. You couldn’t or wouldn’t try to drive an American imported car here at the speeds at the distances. They can’t handle it. Also not all of the autobahn has no speed limit. Just FYI.

      @user-nb8yt2il2r 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @pierrena3420
      @pierrena3420 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I disagree. The statement is an exaggeration with no credibility at all. I just had high speed (up to 304 Km/h) runs yesterday multiple times on multiple stretches. The Autobahn is constantly being maintained somewhere and most of the time (and most of the distance) is NOT under construction.
      Regarding American cars handling autobahn. I wouldn't dare drive normal American cars at high speed. I know for a fact for example that the previous generation BMW X5 had a so called "high speed package" as one of its standard configuration elements on vehicles destined for the German market. This included larger and stiffer anti-roll bars...

    I have been living in Germany for 5 years now. I use to be a soldier and met a German woman and got married so I stayed here. Besides missing family every single thing about being in Germany will always be better than living in America. Simply driving I've only ever seen 4 police cars randomly driving around and that's in 5 years (excluding Polizei at the scene of a traffic accident). When I am near the Polizei I do not fear them as I do American police. Germans are a peaceful people. I have never even seen Germans fight only Americans fighting each other for some stupid reason or another. The year long indoor pools are really nice. The Biergarten is my absolute favorite place to eat so it sucks when it is not warm enough to be open. Germany as a whole has great food, but I personally think Bavaria has the best food on earth. Same as you said about going to the states again last time I went I had not been home for 2 years and everytime I left the house I was kind of afraid haha and of course the food messed my stomach up again. Only 1 thing I wish could change about Germany is warmer weather. Although now I have been I have to have me some Weinachtsmarkt and Glühwein!

      As an American I would say that there are Americans who are aware of the different problems we have had as a nation but many are in denial that these problems ever existed. One of the huge problems we have in my country is the way we are so politically divided. This has been the case for decades for several different reasons. When conservative groups protest a policy that they disagree with they get a lot less opposition from others including law enforcement than progressives do.

    Someone wrote here "that we Germans love to see videos about our selfs", but I have different reasons to write this here.
    Reason number one: I'm in a MMO and (hopefully) a social guy, but often get called Nazi by U.S. players only because I'm a german. I'm not organized in the K.K.K. or something like that, I'm far from a racist - they don't even know me. And that is a sad fact.
    Well we have a few racists also here, but it is hilarious if Germans get called Nazi still by default if racism exist also (sadly) in the U.S. and everywhere else.
    Reason number two: I dislike prestigious thinking.
    Get to know a person and than judge about what you really know.
    For the record... There where nice chatting with U.S. players to, but it happened very often to me.
    And you can grow allergic to such tendencies in behaviour till you point them out, in all respect.

There are Indians with skin color darker than his. Then doesn't even account for what other genes influence his heritage from each ancestor of his. So educate yourself before you embarrass yourself.

      @Waldzwölfe I'd rather be called a slave than someone turning people in dire need away for whatever reason. I wish they'd do it right though... Can't just put camps here and there and shout 'assimilate, adapt, comply' at a bunch of people and expect results :-) that's not the European way at all! Where's that 'sponsor a refugee' program? We have those for everything else...

      @Waldzwölfe yeah, generalization will help you in no conversation, ever. Being rude to others also doesn't help. You seem to be the angry part, not them. Anyhow, talk in a normal, non derogatory way, and we can discuss, in this form I will not speak to you.

    • @notjustforme
      @notjustforme 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Waldzwölfe I have noticed it. I have noticed people in need. In need of a lot of things. Hate and rejection is not one of them. And the people you are talking about are actual criminals and well known for the most part. Those might be handled in a wrong way. Granted. But the majority of the refugees are decent people out of luck. We have more than enough luck to spare you know. Stop being so greedy and grow a conscience. How can you enjoy all your luxury knowing there's people suffering everywhere. It's time for heads to be pulled out of our owns behinds. If a healthy state like Germany would turn refugees Away, what is our wealth worth? Nothing.

    Lived in Germany for 4 years from 1988-1992(I was there for reunification) while in the USAF. Got sent back to the States as Operation Desert Storm was winding down and never made it back. All these YT video's shows it's totally different there now from when I was there.

    I've been living in Germany for 6 years and you can't pay me to move back to the states. Whenever my family or friends in the states ask me why I live here, I pretty much tell them the same things you said. I'm from the inner city of Chicago, and trust me my upbringing was like growing up in a warzone. Being in Germany gave me a new found appreciation of life. It's easy going, peaceful, very diverse, beautiful women and always something to do. I'm prior service military as well, but instead of going to an actual University in Germany I chose to go to school on post (in order to get my G.I bill benefits). Whenever I hear my European friends complain about living here and want to move to the states so bad, I always remind them how good they have it here....Great video fam

      @@timasunshine7989I can see why you'll be skeptical about moving to Germany. My situation was different since it was mandatory for me to move here because of my career. I got a chance to experience what it's like living here prior to making this my permanent home. I love to travel and honestly take trips somewhere I've never been in Europe monthly. Like he said in the video it's very peaceful here. It's crime that goes on here as well, but it microscopic compared to the U.S. I understand that the change like the decision that's upon you could be scary, but in my opinion it's an opportunity for a lifetime. If you don't like it here or get home sick you can always go back. I guess the decision was also easier for me since I'm single and don't have kids. My only regret is I don't speak the language, and not really interested in learning it since I work with Americans and all my European friends speak English. But I'm sure you'll make whatever decision is best for you at this point in your life! I wish you the best and if you can comeback to this comment and let me know which choice you made....Goodluck

    Its so great to here this as a German because we arent really a patriotic country, actually we critizise our country a lot but I also think going back and forth that we should be more proud. Thanks for the video and i hope you have a awesome life here!!

      @@dylcana4122 Well it's true that on average people are less communicative, the more south you go in Germany the less communicative they get. I personly never talk to strangers, but the main reason is that I'm usually busy thinking about something and when I get interrupted by someone asking me a question in the train or sth like that it might take a few seconds before I anwer HÄÄÄÄÄ?
