I love Andy Cizek, and he'll get better with stage performance the more he tours and stuff, but seeing this video Chris has his own unique stage presence that is unmatched
Andy is for sure a better vocalist (Chris is amazing too), but Chris had an amazing presence

Yeh something bothers with Andy’s singing, his tone is too “soft” i don’t know how else to put it. His growls are impressive for sure. Shame Chris left the band
I love Andy's screams but his singing sounds almost robotic. Really not a fan of it.
@@Bobobo-bo-bo-bobobo Andy might be slightly better at screams, more technical than Chris at singing however he is still not a better singer, Chris tone is just heavier doesnt sound as light and I think more emotional aswell, Chris' clean vocals just sound better overall imo
Say what u want, but Chris was the perfect match for Monuments, with such an incredible talent for a showman, vocal and vocal writing.

His stage presence, energy and just overall vibe is fucking amazing. I don’t think people realize how hard it is to “perform” on stage and not just simply play your music for people. Dudes literally like a professional actor just perfectly sliding into exactly who he’s suppose to be when he’s on stage. Wtf.

After listening to the first two minutes of the first song I instantly went to Play Store and bought the album.
I can imagine music PR experts scribbling notes "make one of the band have big hair and put it in the thumbnail for clicks"
It always makes me laugh how people are always like "What a shitty crowd" when it comes to these live festival performances. I get burned out after a 3 band 4 hour set.....Rocking out to music, drinking, getting high for several days would be super draining....But the fact that these people paid for expensive tickets and are there supporting the bands is more then enough. So unless you yourself can go to a festival and give it 100% energy every day of the festival, just shut up and enjoy the live set video. It seems like the band was having a good time, and it's great exposure for them playing at one of the biggest metal festivals in the world. Look at the positives.
I fully agree man! Festivals can be draining but we leave with so many great memories. Fuck those who complain!
Finally someone. I’ve been to quite a few Wacken events and I can attest to how draining it is. And sometimes you get a band like these guys who’d I’d never heard before, so I just listened to see what they were about.

Chris may not be as technical a singer, but he's a killer performer. He puts himself out there every time. His energy and stage presence is infectious. 'The Amanuensis' is a phenomenal album, I think their best, and the band was GREAT live on that tour.

I've seen them in a small place, one of those where you have to walk carefully to not step on someone's Ibanez because there's no backstage really and everything gets carried to stage right through the middle of the room. There was a dude with giant ass turban on his head walking around the place that turned to be Adam Swan, later almost knocking out low hanging stage lights with a kilometer of his crazy dreadlocks. Sweat was dripping from the ceiling, they did all that "duck then jump" and bodysurfing stuff, audience was extatic and band just radiated the air of being in the right time and place (still with Mike Malyan on drums). I know those bigger festival gigs are probably better money for them, but they were really fantastic to see up close in a tiny venue, totally recommend 11/10.

Sadly Chris Baretto is no longer in Monuments anymore but this sick dude Andy Cizek replaced him and he is pretty damn good but Chris has his own unique stage presence that is just amazing. I heard he's an asshole though 😬 Andy, tho, is pretty chill I watch him on Twitch

I always hate those "what a weak crowd" comments, but for real this is the weakest crowd I've ever seen in my life.
Why do you hate them? At least when I red such comments, they mostly (if not always) were true....

I wouldn't say all festivals have weak moshpits/crowds, Unify in Australia this year had some absurd Moshpits, which included Rowing and Uno in the pit
I was one of the few people jumping in the front, I was hungover as fuck but didn't matter, Monuments is always fun

Their new singer is just as good, if not better imo. I've hung with the guys countless times and Chris was a douche as well. From the vague responses whenever the guys have been questioned publicly about his departure, it seems to back this up. Same reason why he left/kicked out of periphery
