Shell Eco-marathon - Technical Inspection

- All cars at the Shell Eco-marathon have to pass a more than 100 point vehicle inspection, ensuring that the car is both safe, and legal to drive on the course. We'll head through the inspection that both the prototype and urban concept vehicles go down.

However, the European level in Shell eco marathon is way above the american one imo.

I wonder when they have announced the competition. It seems like it will take a long time from design to build in order to pass these inspection.
It happens every year, so students work for one calendar year on the project and then enter it. Many designs build on the designs of the previous year.
