  • How to make a DIY hose wire clamp making/binding tool - replica of the official Clamptite.
It was about time to make a good old mechanical project, to take a break from all the electronics. So, I decided to make myself a Clamptite replica.
You can buy original here on Amazon:
    amzn.to/3qInVVf
    amzn.to/3l4b3Hz
    amzn.to/3taO9kv
Here is my Instructable I wrote, describing how I made this tool in more detail:
    www.instructab...
It is a tool used to make all sorts of clamps from a simple piece of wire. Clamp is stronger than traditional screw clamp, and it has much lower profile and no sharp edges. People even used this tool to fix stuff in submarines! You can also use it to fix broken hammer handle, bind together random stuff and much more!
It is up to 10 times stronger and 90% lighter than a regular clamp. The only clamp that is a true 360 degree seal with no flat spots The ClampTite tool provides a way to tighten wires wrapped around an object and then lock it in place. The ClampTite tool can be used with various sizes of wires, eliminating space and strength issues often encountered with screw-operated worm-gear type clamps. Custom clamps that are any size, any shape and can be used anywhere!
My version is nowhere near the exact dimensions of the real deal. I just used the materials and tools that I had in the workshop and made it look good and proportional.
The tool works very well. You can clamp a hose to the inlet, you can fix broken handles, fix your car... With just a wire. Just look on the internet what it can do.
If you want to find out more on how I made it, check out the instructable I have written:

I like this video, my father used to say the whole point of a machine shop was to spend hours making stuff that would have been cheaper to buy pre made. However I still like to do it when I can.

hey nice replica build, with your capacity and tools to improve upon someone else's design, you should add a small motor to it to help with the turning, maybe add a 12v battery and wireless remote control so all you need to do is push a button?! or maybe blutooth option to listen to the radio while you are at it lol

The lathe just makes it easier and cleaner results. *edit I meant to say this project is my favorite so far because of the pin you installed by the tip, but it looks great and very easy to use.
